  1. Shift + F12 turns it off (when its installed). You could install ENBoost if you just want memory management benefits, I think that's still in the STEP wiki.
  2. Well, the plan was to release the single player (first 30 hour installment) then open the MMO universe. Development to continue on the single player(second 30 hour installment) with drop in content developed for the MMO, and repeat for a third go round completing the Squadron 42 series. Since Chris Roberts (Wing Commander) is steering from LA and brother Erin Roberts (Privateer) is running Manchester you got design on two fronts, plus the backend run by Tony Zurovec out of Austin & fps/animation by Brian Chambers (Frankfurt). Finally, like you said, they did fully finance the project (and then some) and don't have a publisher to feed. They continue to state they are building up staff in a targeted & sustainable way with the long view (decade) in mind. Obviously I'm a fanboy and take the optimistic view, I'm hopeful & mostly confident we're in store for a great ride. Edit: I totally skipped the part about future proofing the game graphics-wise, Brian speaks to that @21:15 of the video I linked in my previous post (10 for the Developers episode 13). To paraphrase briefly: they are actively integrating new graphics APIs, watch the video he actually reads a detailed technical response from the camera-shy folks working on this.
  3. @ Synthetic: I'm glad to see more franchises getting into the mix, competition is good. On the Citizen side, they integrated the control sets in 2.4.0 so flight & fps synergize much better (afterburners keybind becomes sprint, the jump key converts to up when you transition from walking to EVA, etc). @ Neo: You're right, two games in one, Squadron 42 as the new Wing Commander for single player plus the whole MMO universe for bounty hunting/mining/piracy/trading and eventually boots on the ground combat/exploration of procedurally generated planets. @ Bircangelo: I still have Freelancer Crossfire mod installed & occasionally play some single player (on a 12 year old game). Citizen is supposed to run live for a decade or so with content released along the way & the devs acting as "dungeon masters" for emergent game play. I'm hoping Citizen has the longevity of Freelancer, hopefully the devs will try to add as much as the modding community.
  4. Fun Fact: I picked up that Temple of Elemental Evil deal (already had the old disc, but GOG is very convenient) & it turns out there's a modding community. Circle of Eight has tuned up ToEE similar to the Sorceror's Place work on infinity engine games. But wait, there's more, those crazy wizards have pulled The Keep on the Borderlands straight out of my pen & paper childhood and made it a ToEE mod. That's not all, there's even an H.P. Lovecraft inspired kickstarter that would make the Elder Gods proud, Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones. Circle of Eight members put their talents to work for you. Unimpressed with FO4, or just want lose your sanity the old fashioned way? Back it and catch a ride to 1920's Massachusetts & perhaps beyond.
  5. Likewise Neo, I love the classics and have forgot to check my Origin in a while.
  6. An "official" Tale of Two Wastelands would make my dreams come true, just sayin'. "z929669, on 07 Jun 2016 - 1:55 PM, said: Yes, but not just remaster ... reMAKE of that game with updated game engine, models, and textures ... all true to the original look/feel. No better RPG has ever been made, IMO." Or an "official" Skywind, also good.
  7. Additionally, they are giving away System Shock 2 for another 9 hours if you install their Galaxy delivery service.
  8. I didn't realize it was so deep. I'm also shamed to say, I've purchased Evochron Mercenary & haven't got around to playing that either. I should take a time management course or reconsider my priorities. In non-space news I think I finally have my Skyrim mod list complete, now just need to troubleshoot my merged mods & create a conflict resolution patch. I might even play the game this summer
  9. I've got X:Rebirth, similar story to yours (late adopter), I played X3 way too much. Need to look at modding Rebirth, especially with Nexus support - that sounds easier than the forums for X3 back when. I haven't played Elite actually.
  10. All good my friend sorry if I came off hostile or quick to defend. I )obviously) have high hopes for the game and the genre. Good news on the play some day front for us both, the single player game gets released before the persistent universe goes live. Maybe for the 2016 holidays? Fingers crossed. I can mod Skyrim & Fallout until then
  11. Animations are a work in progress, as it's a game in development, but I think that video shows pretty impressive progress - specifically the transition from EVA flight to walking on deck fps boarding combat. But you are correct, it continues to be fleshed out. Joystick support is solid, my Saitek 52 works great. CIG is partnering with Saitek on a custom SC HOTAS with mice instead of hats, it's modular with a partner M&K, but that's optional of course. Game controller or M&K works fine as well. Yup, up to 50gb at the moment, but that's the test build of the Stanton system / Port Olisar region. Exciting discussion on procedural world building of you watch the latest 10 for the Chairman, the Frankfurt chief discusses that and other questions at length.
  12. My test build is 51gb right now, so it's big. They have regular "fly free" events where they let you (& me) play with a large stable of ships temporarily. Probably over the 4th of July holiday.
  13. Keep in mind it's a "gift" not a "product" Thank you Darth & Lexy, and Neo & all the rest for all the work you do here, it's much appreciated.
  14. Watch thru the first 5 minutes of the latest AtV I love the 1st person shooter style ship boarding action. I don't think ED allows that? Anyways the Persistent Test Universe gets continous updates, 2.3.x is available live & 2.4.0 by test invite. What about the Port Olisar environs didn't you like?
  15. Jump in on the next "fly free", they have plenty cash you don't have to throw yours on the pile. I'll try and post a timely reminder here. Things have come along way since the Arena Commander alpha release.
  16. You could always join the "Browncoats Organization" and celebrate Whedon's contributions to life the 'verse & everything with us. Oh yeah, Squadron 42 is a nod to Adams as well. SC is chuck full of that sort of thing, when the employees aren't making the game or playing D&D in the atrium they must sit around thinking of ways to poke holes in the 4th wall. tl;dr check it out, watch a few AtV episodes, you might like it.
  17. Yes, very Yes. Of course there's Skywind, saw that in State of STEP.
  18. The "requirements only" version is very much like Thieves Guild Requirements & Timing is Everything from the STEP wiki. As stated above, possible candidate for STEP. The "full version" expands on the quest line & adds unvoiced dialog; but Fuz Ro D-oh, also in the STEP wiki, helps with that. Conflicts with other mods with this version, so not perfect for STEP, but definitely worth a MO profile & a play through. Not sure about green pact violations*, but a Bosmer might benefit from optional wolf form. * orthodox vs. non-practicing Wood Elves? Chalk it up to a daedric rumspringa, find the cure when you've matured a bit.
  19. Food for thought regarding the APO series by cp44: "I'm dividing these mods into 9 basically because Nexus doesn't give nearly as much notice to users for updates as new files. Files that start small and grow slowly tend to get buried on the Nexus. When I finish, I think I'll consolidate the 9 separate mods into one and add a significant new feature. So at some point this will turn into one massive mod with like 10+ main files." Eventually 1 file to install per your wiki instructions & we're good to go. Heavy/Skimpy being the most recent of the 9 now uploaded.
  20. +1 to your DSAMG overwriting Lucidity. You might also like Immersive Sounds - Compendium by lazygecko overwriting AOS as it gives spellcasting some more oomph, and gives great foley!
  21. I've got them stacked this way too, but I didn't know about the jump sound fix, I'll check that out. "Darth_mathias, on 06 Jun 2016 - 08:45 AM, said: well now that Lucidity is at 73% complete I think it is definatly worth consideration for inclusion in SRLE Base. One thing I will say is that the esp for Ludcity is virtually not need only 2 records not overwritten by AOS. Personally I think Lucidity is a good base to build from it actaully very well recorded (and that is high praise coming from a picky noise boy like me). I would also recommend removing this folder: Mod Organizer\mods\Better Vampires 7.2\Sound\fx\npc\human\vampire I think Lucidity is better (but that's me others may disagree with me)" Thanks for the tip Darth.
  22. I had been doing a "dumbed down" version of that by manipulating the pre-existing categories, thanks for showing me how to create my own; "STEP Extended" instead of "patches", "SRLE Extended" instead of "cheats", etc.
  23. Right, CR stuff, I need to spend time on that. Build my TES5Edit skills Good point about about SSR, I forgot I was going rogue there. I guess I just tend more toward the Arthmoor/USLEP take on what should be corrected. Personal choice, and I'm running a custom install, so take my $0.02 for what it's worth
  24. After reading the list of covered creatures on the NARC Nexus page, I am beginning to wonder if they would be involved in any crime scenarios I might perpetrate. How often am I going to be pickpocketing in view of Chaurus? USLEP covers farm animals sans dogs, which was intentional on their part. I believe Stealth Skills Rebalanced also covers some animal factions, so double coverage there. If player horses and dogs silence are desired, wouldn't the basic NARC plugin cover that, or are the animal factions different in Falskaar?
  25. The advice to use Safety Load came from the Crash Fixes page, "Safety Load (not needed if UseOSAllocators=1 in CrashFixPlugin.ini): Install Safety Load if you have a infinite loading screen or freeze at any point. It fixes a bug in memory allocation that causes deadlock. Yes you still need this if you have SKSE memory patch, no they don't do the same thing. SKSE memory patch hides the problem of deadlock for longer because it allocates a larger memory block. If you don't have freeze or infinite loading screen at all then you don't need this!" I'm testing to see if this addresses loading time issues for me, in addition to pairing my installed mod list, work in progress.
