LOL!!!

It's just rugs, and they fit in well. I don't see any problem. Not unless Gamwich put My Little Pony on them.
-
Anyone tried this yet? How much more different is it than Arthmoor's mod?

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64830/? RUGNAROK is my attempt to do for rugs what my PELTAPALOOZA mod did for pelts. Rugs aren't merely clutter items in Skyrim, despite their classification. They also serve as artwork in the game, and in some locations such as Dragonsreach, they have a very large visual presence. The vanilla rug textures are not only low-res, but they are poorly designed. The fringed rugs actually use a separate set of rug textures just for the fringe. This is not only a waste of VRAM, but a poor solution, since the fringe only occupies a small part of the original textures. Fortunately, raiserfx already addressed this issue with his excellent and immensely popular Detailed Rugs mod. He replaced the secondary rug textures with a new and more detailed fringe texture, as well as revising the meshes to use the new fringes. It's a much better solution than what Bethesda came up with. It seemed obvious that any new overhaul should incorporate raiserfx's quality fixes. I'm was pleased that he graciously granted me permission to use his fringes and mesh edits for this mod. With RUGNAROK, I wanted to go beyond the default rug textures. While some of the Bethesda rug designs were OK to begin with, there was no point in duplicating what raiserfx did with Detailed Rugs. He created a truly hi-res lore-friendly retexture of the vanilla rug designs. I wanted to go further with a redesign of the rugs. Many of the vanilla rugs never appealed to me from a design standpoint. Not only were many of the designs uninteresting, but there was no overall design esthetic that I could discern. While I could well imagine that a number of the rugs might be imported, and not of Nord design, I still thought that most of them would be. And if they were of Nord design, they should have some shared motifs. That's what I endeavored to do.

Is the version with scripts significantly different in anything? I understand the description, but don't really understand how is that supposed to overcome the engine limitation. -
Heh, I actually have that set to 60 as there is some sort of quality increase to some minor LODs with distance past the default values.
-
Any idea if it's compatible with AOS, True Storms and CoT Weather Patch? The description says it's compatible with everything, but I don't believe that for a second. edit: Holy crap, I can't see any conflicts in TES5Edit.

Cabal, it would be beneficial for everyone (but you the most) if you dropped that "omg someone it attacking me and my work" attitude everytime you see your name mentioned somewhere. -
Vurt's stress test and STEP:Extended
Octopuss replied to Spock's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I stoppped "vurting" my setup because I never got any consistent results with it. Apparently the engine is way too... "special" and there's no way to reliably test stability this way. I'd be able to fly around the world for 10 minutes twice only to get a CTD 3 times in row within 15 seconds after that. It just doesn't work for me. -
Just like https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/. They don't post that many reviews though.

That's why I upgraded from 24" to 24" (HP LP2475w to Dell U2415)

This must be pure hell from compatibility point of view. Even if you just use Cutting Room Floor and ETaC. Add maybe Interesting and Inconsequential NPCs, and... ew. I don't even want to imagine. The concept is awesome though.

I guess it's only a matter of personal preferences. I cannot use 16:9 for anything. It's just 120 vertical pixels, but it looks extremely disturbing and I constantly get the feeling nothing fits in it.

SKYRIMLE No Snow Under the Roof (by Prometheus)
Octopuss replied to Allsunday's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I have no idea. And yes the guy is much more difficult do reason with than Cabal120 and that's something. Language barrier mostly, but not just that. But I don't want to post any flames. -
Nope, Copy is not the way to go. It resizes images without asking. I uploaded something 1555*1037 and it when I copy its address, it's showing more or less in 1024x768. That's useless :( Besides, the interface is horrible. Folders open horizontally one next to each other, who has ever heard of anything like that? There's no simple copy link entry anywhere, apparently I have to open the image first and then copy the address. Jesus!
-
The problem is that this forum apparently doesn't support images as links. Whatever you throw at it it automatically converts into its own system, where unfortunately only direct links work. Mediafire really does suck. I'll see about Copy. Perhaps something changed since I tried last (I don't even remember what was the reason I didn't stick with it).

I have Dell U2415. AH-IPS panel, great looks, very decent response. I play Battefield 4 on it without any problems whatsoever. Image quality>refresh rate. Also, the price tag is unbeatable. P.S. There is a 16:9 variant somewhere.

Is that the one where you're required to install an application or something? It sounds familiar from when I tried some of the services several months ago...

If I can remove the fog simply and reliably, it's perfectly fine (actually, an option to lower it by like 50% for dungeons and remove it for buildings would be sweet). Just the fog though, I like the effects! What about the colour tone in central Dragonsreach though? Another thing. I see light from windows is done completely differently in RS than in RLO. In RLO, I am used to see a... pillar? of light coming through the window, which looks fairly natural. With RS, there's a weird light sphere around the window, which creates a bit weird effect. The light just stops about half a metre from the window. That all might still work, but... have you tried looking directly at the window? Now that's a problem: no light is actually coming out of it. It's coming from the sphere around the actual window, which looks pretty unrealistic. I know realism is not the goal of the mod, so shall we settle for "weird"? :P I understand there can (and are) major design differences between different authors, but... It's interesting how dramatically different textures look in different lighting. If it was someone elses screenshots, I'd swear different Solitude textures were used. full size https://www.mediafire.com/view/7y1ip9sljzognzp/Bits_Pieces_1_RLO.jpg https://www.mediafire.com/view/ghfk9kb21ni19kx/Bits%20pieces%201%20RS%20ELE.jpg https://www.mediafire.com/view/rmabwdullw973d6/Bits%20Pieces%202%20RLO.jpg https://www.mediafire.com/view/zuk6lyusw86azlo/Bits%20pieces%202%20RS%20ELE.jpg But still, the more I dig into it, the more I like it. There are things I either don't like or that will take me time getting used to. but I am most probably going to switch over pretty soon. -

Is it ok to keep posting pictures of places where I think the lighting is off? Shut me down if not. I looked in Dragonsreach. It looks pretty good with RS, but obviously there's way too much light. I added ELE, and... that doesn't look right. I guess the reason everything is orange is the fire, but it still looks super weird. P.S. Dragonsreach - just RS Dragonsreach - RS and the "fog removal" mod Please get rid of the fog at the very least in buildings :( -

Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
Octopuss replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
I can confirm the overwrite folder is a huge no. There's a bug in MO's VSF code or something that apparently only manifests itself in extremely rare situations like this (because who would normally - until now I guess - stress it so much by writing hundreds to thousands of files at very fast rate?). Just don't even think about doing that. I tried. I tried hard. I failed even harder. Just don't. -
I am going mental over Mediafire lately. I am this close to ditching it, because unless I pay on monthly basis, no direct links to images. Unfortunately, the forum software STEP runs on is absolutely imcompatible. It just ignores some of the BB code and creates a thumbnail from what already is a thumbnail or something :( This works perfectly fine for example on Nexus [url=https://www.mediafire.com/view/?q0ujjtt9hj8bmsf][img=https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/22fc/q0ujjtt9hj8bmsf4g.jpg][/URL] Here, clicking on the link only opens the thumbnail in new window :( I don't suppose anyone from the admins could look into possibilities of changing this somehow? That's not what I originally wanted to post though. Does anyone know of file sharing service that works for images, but is not primarily a photo/image hosting site? One where you can organize files into as many subfolders as you like, direct links work, and the interface is comfortable to use (Imgur for example is extremely awkward).

I've only found one place so far, the boss room in Bleak Falls Barrow, but I assume it's not limited to specific places and it might actually be the grey tint I saw before. I believe RLO simply removes it alltogether (which I prefer myself). vanilla this is just RS this is RS with Remove Interior Fog on top of them this is RS+ELE This is how it looks with RLO full size pictures https://www.mediafire.com/view/c9bab4rscq41x44/fog%20-%20vanilla.jpg https://www.mediafire.com/view/zow4igqwgtm1rs5/fog%20-%20RS.jpg https://www.mediafire.com/view/560ws625iige9y5/fog%20-%20RS%20removed.jpg https://www.mediafire.com/view/e6576s9f6jlp1mg/fog%20-%20RS%20ELE.jpg https://www.mediafire.com/view/q0ujjtt9hj8bmsf/fog%20-%20RLO.jpg I very, very much prefer the clean look. I agree there probably is supposed to be a bit of a fog in a cave like this, but nowhere near as much as if smoke shell exploded there minute ago :( Perhaps, if it wouldn't be too much work, you could offer the fogless version as an optional component for ELE? -

Allright. What about removing the interior ambient fog? I think RLO does this, which might explain why some places look weird with RS+ELE to me.
