ACCEPTED Relighting Skyrim (by NovakDalton and JawZ)
Octopuss replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I knew it was a good idea to postpone my return to Skyrim yet again :D -
This is basically (but not entirely) an upscale of the vanilla texture with some sort of noise over it. Not impressed. I wonder when will people start creating their own textures (yes I'm aware it's damn difficult).
-
Tech, how customizable is the interface? I guess you can probably change desktop icons like in any other version, but what about the general style? It's so horribly flat it reminds me of... not even XP, more like 95 with washed out colours as a bonus. Getting anywhere close to the look of 7 is probably impossible, but how much can be achieved?
-
Do you think there would be third person camera like in Skyrim? I think F3 was first person only.
-
I find it funny how none of the posts thus far explained any backdoors in Windows 10, or in Windows in general. All of the paranoid posts were about things that are completely irrelevant to the actual OS. But hey, I'm not trying to take your tinfoil hat from you. If you are an american, you might as well need it, because apparently the government spying, censorship and whatever is much, much worse there than in Europe.
-
I don't live in America. This is not a concern for me. Seriously, the wall of text you produced is exactly the same thing Alternity posted, only much more paranoid. Bring up the tinfoil hat! just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you :P
-
alt3rn1ty, I don't want to troll you or anything, but are you from America by chance? The amount of paranoia in your posts in this thread is sky high. I don't really care one bit if Microsoft stuffs the system with NSA backdoors (but I don't believe for a second there are any, because if it was the case, they would have been doing it for decade(s) already), because I don't have anything to hide. Be my guest to see what music I have on the disk and what kind of porn I download. I don't care. All I care for is better design (the interface is horrible and I will never forgive Microsoft for Metro) and the ability to customize the system so that I can at least switch off the junk I don't want.
-
I cannot quote any source, but I read somewhere the amount of junk in Windows 10 is/will actually higher :/ Hopefully we will be able to turn it all off, but still, I don't like this approach one bit. Guess Microsoft never learns when it comes to certain things.
-
Let us know whether Skyrim starts up any faster than on Win7 :)
-
Jesus christ, I wonder what kind of colourblind people with absolutely no sense of ANY aesthetics make decisions at Microsoft. It looks HORRIBLE.
-
I somehow managed to make the columns look roughly the way I wanted by randomly pulling them from left and right, pulling my hair in the process. It's so horribly confusing and counter intuitive I hope I won't have to do it again. I couldn't find any pattern to it. Also, having to resize the entire window in the end is absolutely ridiculous. That's not how it should work at all, in my opinion. I have the size of the program window exactly the way I want it and just want to resize the damn columns.
-
Uh, ok. Guess the interface could use some tweaking to be less confusing.
-
How do I get rid of the category filtering? I checked for updates, and now can't make it go away. If I click on "filter", it says "click blank area to deselect" at the bottom, but there is no blank area at all! This worked in 1.2.x, because there actually was some blank space somewhere.
-
Thanks. Ew :(
-
Let's hope they learned a LOT by just observing the modding community around Skyrim.
-
This early? I always thought trailers came months to years before release. If the game is already almost finished, I am surprised. Still, you can't deny the - theoretical only at this point - advantages of Dx12. The performance improvements are simply way too huge to be ignored. Maybe it applies more to games like Battlefield, which probably render a lot more at much faster rate, but still.

Skyproc patchers suddenly don't work anymore
Octopuss posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
So I reinstalled MO for 1.3.6, deleting all files but profiles and installed mods, and started configuring things again. For some reason, neither ASIS nor DSR works anymore, and I can't figure out what's wrong. I have it configured exactly the same way as before (I literally changed nothing, it points to the same Java folders, it has correct argument and start in and whatever), but when I run the patcher, MO does something for a second and shows the locked window, but then the process shuts down and nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea? Edit: there is some cryptic error log in overwrite folder, but I can't make anything out of it. -
I didn't say the game should be Dx12 only.
-
Yeah? Unless Fallout 4 has a release date (I don't believe it has any) of anytime before Windows 10 (within two, three months or so), what you say doesn't make any sense.
-
Do you mean the Creation Kit? That has nothing to do with the game's engine (which noone but the developers know I guess), it's just a half functional kind of game editor. Also, if there won't be DirectX 12 support right from the launch, it will be a huge facepalm.
-
I'm no programmer, but slapping new features over something crappy doesn't look like a good idea to me.
-
Could someone explain to me how to resize the left panel's columns without smashing something to pieces please? I don't know what to do - if I try to resize one, the next one enlarges. Going at it from the left only makes the entire panel wider, and from the right I don't even know how to describe the behaviour, because I don't understand what's going on (something enlarges, something doesn't even move, and the priority column always changes size) :(
-
Please no. That would mean something really bad for TES6.
-
I don't think you would notice any performance improvements with this mod unless you run Skyrim on such ancient PC which could barely handle Windows and with a disk from 2002 or something.
-
Looks like it might be two years or so before we see next TES. But that's fine, perhaps they will have the time to fix whatever engine Fallout 4 will be running on :P I'm not really a fan of the new Fallouts either btw, but I played FO1+2 like a maniac back then. Btw, did you know the company that created Wasteland 2 bought the rights for Van Buren? Now THAT would be f*cking amazing.
