STEP v2.2.0 Official Bug Reports Thread
TheCompiler replied to Farlo's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Are you sure BFSEffect and Better Quest Objectives still have errors? The first has been updated and the second doesn't show any UDR/ITM with tes5edit -

ACCEPTED Skyrim Realistic Overhaul (by Starac)

Very good advice! I see that you learned a lot  I also have a very good advice; remove this TPC nonsense completely. Just as soon as you create textures for all of Skyrim Actually, TPC is a fairly comprehensive compendium of Skyrim textures from the modding community (although I have not personally evaluated each of Cestral's choices compared to vanilla). If you read Cestral's description, it sounds like a lot of effort was spent on picking these, so I defer to his picks as a baseline over which to install those textures that I know I want. I agree. I also agree on the fact that SRO landscape texture are, by far, superior to everything, so i do not recommend to include Serious in TPC, so that SRO ones will always prevail. The problem when installing 1.6 SRO update right after TPC is that you will lose mountains and parallax additions, along with many minor others, so an update by cestral may still be necessary.- 425 replies

volumetric fog is optional as it was for standard RCRN Darker dungeons isn't needed, but it's optional as well (this ENB doesn't mess so much with the lighing like the cinematic ones).
-
Here, i've updated RCReN, it now includes my tweaked version of SkyRealism ENB, you just need RCRN and d3d9.dll from enbseries 0.119 https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/180
-
I personally use Vibrant along with RCRN, it may look probably a bit overdone for someone, but its definitely awesome.
-
Now that's the STEP direction :P
-
Oh and other mods can be made compatible with rcrn using tes5edit, i've already fixed tons of incompatibilities with it that i wasn't even aware of, and they were not caused by rcrn, but by unsospectable mods.
-
Yes, incompatible with CoT, but CoT isn't the mod to end all mods, you can like rcrn more and use it, and if you have not issues with it, use also a vanilla enb on top of it. You have clearly problems using ENB, just don't use it.
-
Well, ENB with no SSAO and DOF (only fixes, shadows and dograys) has a minimal impact on performance (but ofc if your rig is lower than medium, its different) and its a major improvement. You can use it over any visual mod you want (rcrn, cot etc) no reason you should not pick it.
-
Why not borh rcrn and ENB? Use: RCRN legacy (disable fxaa) don't use Data folder from it SkyRealism ENB (vibrant preset, disable SSAO and DoF, enable parallax, fixes) Awesome results will come.

Missing weapon textures - how to find the problem?
TheCompiler replied to drannos's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I do not use SkyRe but your issue is surely caused by that mod, since it adds new weapons and modifies the leveled lists. For security, you can check the "weapons" lists in tes5edit in order to find those particular weapons you mentioned in the post. Then, if they're there, you should report the issue to the author. We always look for people willing to contribute, i'm not the one who manages this trough, just write an "application" topic in this forum and one the team will consider it ;) -
Missing weapon textures - how to find the problem?
TheCompiler replied to drannos's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hi drannos. Do you installed SkyRe? or weapons of the third era? Or, you can send me your mod list as listed in the Wrye Bash report. Anyway, you can check new weapons added by a mod with tes5edit, and even the dds they use. -
Minor: Skyrim map object's texture fugly
TheCompiler replied to Valamyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
It's a mod from the Texture Pack Combiner, HQ Skyrim Map It's not removed from STEP, just included in TPC -
ACCEPTED Lanterns of Skyrim - All In One (by MannyGT)
TheCompiler replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Too many lanterns for mee, i'll stick with the bridge only version, don't like to spot lanterns at every corner like in a city! -

SKYRIMLE Requiem - The Roleplaying Overhaul (by Xarrian and Ogerboss)
TheCompiler replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'm still not into gameplay-changing mods, even if i'm a strong hardcore/realism/basicneeds lover. But i'm just scared of messing with them and i prefer to focuse of making the vanilla skyrim plain perfect and polished, both visually and gameplay. -
Well, since the 1.2 addon removed the angry villagers which was the main problem with this mod, and since it seems to be totally compatible with the DLCs, i guess we can reintroduce it in the next STEP, what the other team member have to say about it?
-
yep it has been updated to 1.02, just wandering if that fixes the issues reasn why we removed it from the guide.

Completely slain after not playing Skyrim for 9 months
TheCompiler replied to Raistlin's question in General Skyrim LE Support
You don't need to make the rar thinghy (damn that's why i install things by hand :P) just extract the files manually in your skyrim main folder. We are reorganizing STEP, in next version things will be much clearer and steamlined, so you may want to wait the new version (coming this month) in order to mod your game with STEP. Unless some volonterous here on the forum is going to write a sneek-peek ;P -
On my rig, i still find v1.1 much more beautiful and even a bit more performant. Surely ENB 1.19 has some improvements, but the overall quality of project enb preset v1.1, even if with older ENB 1.13, is unmached for me.
