  1. I can just use my vanilla preset and disable ENB. You wanted comparisons for the distant terrain to be done between.. Vanilla, Enhanced Distant Terrain and HD Enhanced Terrain right? I'll use the 1024 version of HD Enhanced Terrain to let you know as a direct comparison as the default for HD Enhanced Terrain is 2k I think. I've also downloaded fresh files of both mods in all the resolutions so there's no "corruption". I'm awaiting word on testing locations for the other compares such as the caves. I will do some other compares for the distant terrain at other locations if you supply me with them. As for the overlook I think you're talking about the path on the cliff before you get to Honningbrew Meadery from Riverwood correct? Also which version of Enhanced Distant Terrain Classic I'd assume? The versions available in the FOMOD are Classic, Octave, Cell, Earth, Grass and 512 and 1k variants of each. I'm using 1024 but you mind telling me which version? I'm going with classic for now but let me know.
  2. Interesting. I do hope Real Shelter is posted SOMEWHERE soon... I might try this out when I'm done doing compares for the team.
  3. If you have anywhere specific in mind please post here. https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=2880&action=lastpost It's a catch all that I'll be using so I don't have to check all of the individual threads. This will help as I'm doing the compares in the 15-30 minute breaks I'm taking from writing this screenplay and I'd much rather spend the time comparing the mods than finding the different threads.
  4. What version of Mod Organizer are you using?
  5. What I did with the .PNG's takes longer but did seem to help a bit and not decrease the quality noticeably. I took them into GIMP after making mirrors of the texture directory's structure for the extracted vanilla textures and the DLC bsa's (textures/interface/books folder in the respective folders) and used the RIOT plugin to optimize them into .PNG while keeping transparency using batch mode. While some oh them were minutely larger after optimization some were majorly smaller (between 50-75%) and I did side by side compares and couldn't really tell a difference. They aren't used all the time so I doubt it makes much difference but I figre every little bit helps. If anyone wants them send a holler and I'll upload them to drop box so people can try them out. Overall the book and other .png's don't take up that much space but... Edit: Also is anyone else experiencing slow speed? It took me a long time to post this message and I know it's not on my end. Are the server's finally being migrated?
  6. I was using Kryptopyr's CCO but I disabled it as I didn't like the way it changed the ore names and some of the other things it forced on you which is a pity as it helped in the crafting menu's otherwise yes it played nice with all of the mods from Skyrim Revisited and this guide as far as I could tell.
  7. If you have it optimized as loose files aren't you supposed to remove the .bsa from your DATA directory? Correct me if I'm wrong.
  8. This though I always make an archive of my optimized mods and put them on a separate drive so I don't (usually) ever have to mess with doing it again. Also if we want to get down to the nitty gritty Mod Organizer is missing the ability to change mod masters for things like ReProccerDragonborn etc.
  9. Just thought I'd correct a bit of what you said so people don't start getting confused. Mod Organizer can't treat .bsa's as loose files It does have the option to unpack .bsa's whenever you add a mod that has a .bsa so that they become loose files without you having to use another tool to extract them from the .bsa. This is useful especially if you plan on optimizing the files as all you have to do is point DDSOpt to the Mod Organizer Directory for that mod and have it output the optimized files to a new folder and then you can archive the optimized files and replace the version that's in Mod Organizer.
  10. I could use my vanilla skyrim profile and add the texture mods plus the unofficial patches and I'd be willing to do that as textures are easy to compare. However for strict S.T.E.P. mod testing I don't see myself doing it as I've spent a lot of time getting SR setup and adding my other goodies and would rather not setup another profile just for S.T.E.P. which is what I moved away from in favour of Neo's guide. If you'd like to to do Texture comparisons I wouldn't mind especially since you're low on mod testers and their time could be better spent testing mods than texture comparisons.
  11. No bashed patches are useful but do not "bundle" per se. They combine the leveled lists (items found throughout the game world and on NPC's, loot chests, etc) and place them in a prioritized list so they properly overwrite each other to make sure your leveled lists don't become a mess. They also allow you to eliminate some mods like Realistic Crime Radius, the Arrows and Bolt Tweaks recover more arrows plugin and a few others things. There are also some mods and some Skyrim Revisited patches which it can detect and incorporate into itself thereby allowing you to free up some .esp slots. However in order to make and consolidate into bigger patches say one for all the Realistic Lighting Overhaul pathes in Skyrim Revisited you would need to do so manually using tools like TES5Edit and probably follow Kelmych's guide. This is something I intend to do when I work out the bugs with my current install. As for adding new mods a good example would be Iroha's addition to Skyrim Revisited which shows you how to add SkyRe and it follows the information and experiences from the Skyrim Revisited guide about TES5Edit to accomplish this. Skyrim Revisited is for more advanced modders so I wouldn't try it if it intimidates you, it does however provide a nice learning platform for using it's practices of making compatibility patches to when you DO deviate from Neovalen's mod list as most of us have.
  12. Woah now that's a wall of text... Would you mind putting some of it or preferrably each question in spoiler tags please? The way to add spoiler tags is {spoiler}your text{/spoiler} (replacing { and } with [ and ])
  13. I might could be convinced to do it if you give me some locations. I'm using optimized textures just fyi. I'm also using SR so I'll need to disable a lot of things so let me know.
  14. Not particularly UNPB is just more realistic than CBBE *cough* the only body mod which intensely disturbs me. Also you would have to pick non UNP/UNPB versions of some of the armors if you liked them as the ones in the SR guide are for the UNPB-BBP body for the most part.
  15. Another feature would be the feature in WB which tells you how many .esp/.esm's you have ACTIVE.
  16. Most texture mods hardly ever get updated; the exception to these are ones for Armor and Weapon Packs. The Book of Silence for example. However it's not a big pain once you get used to the process. It used to take me at least 10 minutes a mod just to make sure I was doing everything right now. I just download unpack make a folder for the new files, setup max resolution limit and click process. 2 minutes tops.
  17. You know I seem to recall a mod called Deadly Mutilation that allowed you to chop up bodies and limbs and such you guys may want to try it out; though I think NPC's can do it to you as well while you're alive.
  18. I've never had any issues with Steam or even Skyrim being in the default directory. Then again I know how to properly modify my Windows install.
  19. Yes I think that BOSS in the Steam directory is causing it issues I personally have BOSS in the root of my C: drive
  20. Ok post your BOSS log again...
  21. I don't know if you people track all your mods like I do but Forgotten Magic has received two bugfix and content updates in the last two days so you'll probably want to grab them.
  22. Well first off you have .bsa's you either need to enable or remove from the data directory (if you've optimized say the DLC .bsa's and added them as Archives) Second in your executable window does BOSS show up like... this?
  23. Um... why is your BOSS in your Steam directory?
