I don't know what made me think of it but has anyone tried taking Physx calculations off the GPU and put it on the CPU? I don't think Skyrim has too many PhysX calculations and I would imagine it eats up some VRAM which is then mirrored into SODIMM RAM. On top of that I don't think Skyrim gains any performance from Hardware PhysX. Though is this a moot point as Skyrim uses Havok Physics? I can't recall if Havok makes use of PhysX acceleration on Nvidia cards. This is mostly a theoretical question but I'm going to try it out.

To get rid of the two Moonlight tales instances in the MCM menu make sure you have disabled Brevi_MoonlightTales.esp and are using the compatible version of Werewolf Mastery. As I said before make yourself a nice cup of chamomile tea and cry for a bit since you're going to have to deal with the quirks of the game engine including the FPS weirdness. -
Not so much I have too many non-S.T.E.P. mods for that to happen. Still looking for crash courses on modding. I have received permission from Chesko to add functions to Frostfall's survival skills menu whenever I get around to it.

General Support Thread
phazer11 replied to Solist's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Alright so just an update I finally fixed it. Apparently the import mods on startup option in the Automatic Variants menu decided to break itself between the patch I did this morning and this afternoon. Unticking that seemed to fix it. -
General Support Thread
phazer11 replied to Solist's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
So I had a weird hiccup today and I'm still trying to fix it so I'm open to ideas. I re-ran Wyre Bash and SUM after uninstalling Immersive College of Winterhold as I think it was causing a problem (I'd added it last night and ran SUM this morning before I found the problem while playing) anyways it gets to the end of running Automatic Variants and then craps out and says "Failed to properly run Automatic Variants: continue patching?" so I go in and as is usually the solution I delete the previous SUM file and the Automatic Variants, ReProccer and Dual Sheath Redux .esp's and after doing that several times which I sometimes have to do and it still didn't work I deleted my consistency files and am still stuck. Now I think it's hitting it's 750MB RAM allocation. As when I look at it in task manager it's ~1260MB so I tried increasing the RAM it's allowed to use and that didn't help any. hs_err_pid5872.7z -
DROPPED Terrain Bump - Texture Pack (by SparrowPrince)
phazer11 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I would recommend against it (releasing an optimized pack). I'm of the opinion that since generally modders don't release optimized packs every end-user so do their due diligence and attempt and optimization anyways to see if it at least makes a difference in file size and if so weight the pros and cons of using the compressed textures. The Pros of course are generally much better VRAM and therefore RAM usage and therefore generally better stability. -

Yeah I need to make a set of post Helgen and at least into Riverwood saves I seem to have lost the ones I was using last year. -
DROPPED Terrain Bump - Texture Pack (by SparrowPrince)
phazer11 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yeah I just set tangient space normals to R5G5B5 and set resolution to 8192x8192 the compression was impressive. I might take a stab at making a video on how to run DDSOpt for general usage. Though that'll eat into the time I could be learning to mod. On that note if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate some tips in my thread in Banter Inn plus there's some nice videos there if you like AMV's at any rate. -

It almost sounds like that bug with destructible bottles that if you accidentally broke a bottle owned by a resident they would attack you as if you had stolen it. -

How would we go about doing this? Also do you mean R5G6B5 compression in DDSOpt? -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
phazer11 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Read the sticky in the main Skyrim Revisited Forum it has a rough guestimate of his progress. He has a long way to go. Either follow Skyrim Revisited to a T down to the versions except for the mods like SkyUI that require new skse and such OR put in the newest versions and hope the instructions he provides in the guide. As far as deviations from S.T.E.P. some examples would be Frostfall, Realistic Needs, etc -

SKYRIMLE Hectrol CAVES DELUXE HighRes Retex (by Hectrol)

I have to disagree mate if you look at the compares the new ones are pretty close to the originals they're very similar if you can stomach looking past the blockiness and plasticy veneer of the vanilla ones. -

phazer11 replied to Asimov's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yeah mate it wasn't a big deal it just broke my immersion it just set off alarms in my head saying why are the wave coming FROM shore... It's not a big deal I don't go up there that often but I would imagine there are a few places this occurs. -

Spell casting freezes are usually the realm of Deadly Spell Impacts and Burn Freeze Shock Effects try disabling them and see if they go away. If it's when you're hitting say the ground or an enemy then it's likely DSI. As far as the FPS is concerned get yourself a nice cup of chamomile tea and tell yourself it's going to be ok. Random lag spikes happen randomly and usually because the game hasn't unloaded or is loading too much of something. For the possible invisible animal are you sure you weren't damaged by say hitting a dead body or hitting a metallic object. -

Part of all candles (drips) missing
phazer11 replied to amoebae's question in General Skyrim LE Support
It almost sound like you're missing a texture except that it's transparent instead of purple or blue. Do you have Real Effect Candle by Yuril installed? If you're using it in say ModOrganizer untick the box next to it. -
I'm actually surprised most people don't realize it's volcanic rock.

SKYRIMLE Ultimate Spinning Arrows (by Palistov and Nofumasa)

Anyone able to tell me why Real Shelter is no longer on the Nexus?
-
Or it could need the ITM records as some mods do.
-
Don't use Bethesda's HRDLC or if you do use the Bethesda High Res DLC Optimized listed in S.T.E.P. You can probably run Skyrim Revisited if you don't run the HRDLC and use 1k or more likely 512 resolution for most of your textures I'd say for armors don't go above 1k.
