  1. I was recommended to use BethINI because changing the MO2 skyrimpreferences.ini keeps ctding the game. But those settings seem to work just fine in Docs or Skyrim. So BethINI was used with the recommended tweaks. It changed the ini and seems to be exactly what the mod author called for. But it keeps ctding every time I try to start a new game, once I get out of character creation. Resetting MO2 ini back to default lets me play the game. But I get an error message about needing to change bfloatblatherblather. So it seems the ENB and game runs just fine until I set the values it should have in MO2. Do you have any thoughts? This is the changes it made to ini. 2. Here is the settings in my MO2 ini. Maybe you can find something wrong with them?
  3. Ok so BethINI set up the ini and it seems that it was correctly set to the specifications of Elder Blood ENB. Now that the MO2 is altered, it is ctding again as soon as I finish character creation. So there is very obviously some problem with changing the MO2 skyrim preferences. If I set them back to vanilla, I'll be able to actually play the game. Is there something I can show you so we can start figuring out what the problem is? I have been dying to play for weeks.
  4. Thanks Greg. I've downloaded it and been watching Gamer Poet's videos. I'm not seeing how this is supposed to solve the issue with MO2 ctding when I paste in the adjusted ini from Documents. It wasn't crashing the game in Documents. So aside from getting tweaks, how can I solve the issue with what is going on and where I need to change the ini?
  5. Thanks. I will Google about BETHini and try to learn about this tool if that is the suggestion. But what is baffling me is that everything I researched suggested it would completely mess up the game if you didn't change the vanilla skyrimpreference.ini values correctly before running an ENB. Now when I changed the values, I only did it in Documents and/or Skyrim folder. Yet the game ran fine, and the graphics appear improved. If MO2 didn't use the settings I changed in those folders, would the ENB still have run correctly off the vanilla skyrimpreferences.ini in its directory? From researching ENB errors, I would expect the purple trees, green skies, half-black screens and CTDs if the skyrimpreferences.ini wasn't set as necessary. I've read severe issues just from neglecting one changed value, let alone by not changing anything from default vanilla. Can I get some feedback about this please?
  6. I never said that was causing the game to crash. I specifically said that it was altering the skyrimpreferences.ini in MO2 that was causing the game to crash. I said twice that setting MO2's ini back to default and changing the values in the other directories makes the game run, but gives the error message, despite it being set to 1. And that everything is set to default vanilla values, but the ENB is still working fine and the game runs. So that doesn't make sense. That is set to false. What I did to establish good ini settings was to delete the ini files in both Docs and Skyrim and then run the vanilla game to reestablish. Do you think I still need to find this BethINI and run it? Thanks. Again, I didn't say that the ENB was making my game crash. I said altering the MO2 Skyrimpreference.ini was making my game crash. I don't understand how this is being so misunderstood. Since I only changed the Documents and Steam skyrimpreferences.ini first, and the game ran correctly, and the ENB seems to be working just fine- I really don't see how MO2 isn't using those values. Since it worked with those values changed and MO2 untouched. It was only when I read in a forum that I needed to change the ini in MO2 that I reset the ini in Documents and Skyrim folder back to vanilla and altered the MO2 only. And that is when my game CTDs without fail- as stated above. Resetting the MO2 to vanilla, has again let me play the game successfully. Only I get the above error message.
  7. That is the ini I referenced when I was mentioning changing the ini in MO. And that is what started ctding my game. And it's weird. I can load the game, the Skyrim Unbound start menu, activate it in MCM, build my character and all that. And then, when I complete the character and go to start the game- it ctds every time. Setting that back to default lets me play the game with the error message. Right now I have all three skyrimpreferences.inis set to default. But the game is running. The ENB is working. And that doesn't make sense. Also, I don't seem to have anything in logs.
  8. I've been trying to run down this issue of CTDing on start in Winterhold. At first I thought it was the mod conflict between Interesting NPS, Holds (oh notorious mod!), and Immersive College of Winterhold. However unselecting them all did nothing to fix this. I finally discovered this seemed to be related to my installation of Elder Blood ENB. I was getting a red error message: bfloatpointrendertarget=1 is not set or you have multiple copies of this file. When I checked it was set to 1. I found a thread where someone had this problem and they were saying you need to only alter the .ini in MO. Not Steam or Documents. So I made sure both were set back to default, and I only changed MO2. However this was crashing the game on any start. I could initialize the game and get to the default game window set up by Skyrim Unbound. It definitely looked like the ENB was working fine on it from what I could tell. Once I set up a game and started anywhere- it would ctd. So finally I set the MO2 .ini prefs back to default and first changed the one in Documents. Game ran perfectly, but the error message was back. Set that to default and tried Skyrim. Same thing. Went around in circles, trying each one. Finally I set all three to default and the game ran, the error message was still there, and the graphics seemed noticeably improved from vanilla. But this doesn't make any sense. How can it run with the vanilla default ini settings? This is so far beyond me. Anyone want to try to take a shot at this?
  9. I'm having this problem too. It started when I removed one mod that was being overwritten by another, and started a new game. The game keeps ctding in the area affected by the two mods. So I've been on this journey of trying to get a mod load order for some guy on the Steam discussions. But external Loot doesn't have 1/4 of the mods I have downloaded. In C:\Users\Erin\AppData\Local\Skyrim= my load order txt shows the old mods that I had removed from Data Files, deleted along with NMM in an uninstall, and thought I had gotten rid of in every possible way, since I had to reacquire vanilla game files through Steam before I downloaded MO2. Yet here they are instead of the new ones. I can't seem to find the new mod load order anywhere?
  10. So I carried on trying to figure this out for half the night. It didn't make sense a preset would crash the game. I'm using Skyrim unbound and it was working in a different area. So I tried using a non-preset character for Winterhold and it ctd'd that too. It isn't the preset. I think it is the fact that I had Immersive College of Winterhold, and Holds. I had the overwrite flags for them. But I just unchecked ICW. I've spent hours trying to Google info on how a mod that is no longer present in the game can ctd from conflicting with one that is on a new game. I am loving MO2. But it's also exhausting trying to learn all this.
  11. Eh, there's just one problem. Now, when I create my character it's crashing my game. It's done so about a dozen times. I tried loading a non-preset and it went through just fine. I can't see how a preset could crash the game upon starting. Do you have any ideas?
  12. That's amazing. Thank you so much! It works. You are the most patient guy ever. Thank you thank you.
  13. I don't know if I screwed this up, but I tried dragging them into this file and it did finally generate them in Overwrite. So I just moved them into the mod section of MO in the executable. C:\Users\Erin\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\Skyrim\overwrite Edit: Oh wow. Your responses didn't show up for me on either thread. And I've been sitting here obsessively hitting Refresh all day. Do I need to undo what I did and do it with the way I just now see you suggested?
  14. No I'm not trying to download mods from Workshop. I'm trying to sync my already subscribed mods into Overwrite so I can create a mod. The video tutorial by GamerPoets has that you start up Skyrim Launcher through MO, wait until it's done saying "Synchronizing mods", exit launcher, click Overwrite- and behold! The mods are now in Overwrite mod. Except they aren't. So I can drag them from the Data folder. I see them in there. Um, since I'm clearly not tech-savvy by any standard- can you give me the exact path I find this mods folder structure I need to drag them into? This: C:\Users\Erin\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\Skyrim\mods is the one I know and they are all separate folders. Not esps. I don't want to screw this up.
  15. Oh I see. That was much easier. However I still can't find the exact path the above says it should be in. These are the choices I seem to find. Can you advise?
  16. Thanks. I have moved it as you suggest but I still can't get it to sync with Workshop mods. Do you have any recommendations there?
  17. Thanks Greg. I pasted my preset folder into that directory. But when I ran the game, it came up blank. Is this the directory I should put it in? I can't find it in my Data folder.
  18. So where exactly do you find that? I looked in my MO folder and have no mods folder. I'm probably dumbarsing it, but can you explain?
  19. Ah that is what comes of mistakenly watching Gopher videos to understand the wrong program :( Would cutting and pasting it to desktop suffice? That might explain why I'm having various glitches.
  20. Ok I'm really confused. I'm trying to do two things at this point. One is to clear the flags in the plug-ins. (I haven't found any information on the tutorials I've poured through, thus far.) The only information I am finding is on overwritten flags. As far as I can tell that's ok. I do want my mod to overwrite the other. But there are a lot of treasure chest/paperclip flags in my plug-ins and I haven't been able to google up anything on why that is. Or how to fix it. Additionally, I am trying to port in my mods via Workshop by launching Skyrim Launcher (not SSKE). And then waiting for the mods to sync, so I can use the Overwrite feature, and create the mod in my list. However it never seems to happen. And now, I'm having a weird formatting issue, where I can't even get to the overwrite button. I've tried minimizing/maximizing the screen- doesn't fix it. I've tried shutting it down and starting it up again. Doesn't fix it. I've tried using Ctrl - to reduce the size of the screen. Does nothing. It's stuck with the bar being the lowest it will go, and having 'filter' floating where Overwrite should be. Additionally, if you look at the picture that shows this issue, you'll see in the message screen that it's referring to Fallout. However I don't have this installed in fallout. This is installed into the Skyrim game directory. I have never used this with Fallout. I don't have one single mod installed anywhere on my computer for Fallout. So I am not sure what in the world that is. I don't even have Fallout installed on my computer. Guys what am I missing?
  21. I could cry. I'm a total techtard. I've spent like 20 hours watching Gopher videos and learning this program. I'm so proud of myself that I'm finally getting my badly corrupted NMM game completely redone. And now I realize I have the wrong version and the explanations for this version sound like alien drooling gibberish. FML.
  22. OMG I love you. Vortex is working! That's so weird. I didn't see anything about Vortex in any of the tutorials or videos I was using. Thanks an absolute million!
  23. So I've gone through the tutorial several times. I've gone into Tools/Nexus/associate with manager links. I've clicked it once. I've clicked it repeatedly. Either way when I click the world icon and go to Nexus to find Skyrim mods, none of the mods show me any option other than Manual installation. I don't understand what is wrong. I've watched videos and tried this a number of times. Has this happened to anyone else?
