Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 2 not working.
DoubleYou replied to NomenNescio's question in Mod Organizer Support
It sounds like you need to buy some space! You can by a 2TB portable for $80 here. -
On the download page it does say to place the line in SkyrimPrefs.ini, but default setting is on (1) anyway, so this doesn't make sense. I bet it is just bogus and no one ever correctly tested it with it off to prove otherwise. OR, it may have done something before in a previous official patch and was necessary then (Boris added the recommendation in v0.114), but in 1.9.32.0.8 it does nothing.

Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 2 not working.
DoubleYou replied to NomenNescio's question in Mod Organizer Support
He has indicated on another thread that he might have one on an HDD and the other on an SSD, but I can't see how that would explain some mods working and other mods not, unless he is "running out of space" on one, perhaps. -
I think you are looking at the wrong place for the ini files. Open Mod Organizer Click the puzzle menu and select Configurator Go to Display and click Advanced Enable bFull Screen if it is false to make it go full screen Set iSize W to 1920 and iSize H to 1080 Click Save and Close Play and see if that fixes it
-
Hmmm, that does look good.
-
Well, that's interesting if it does, as it isn't used by the vanilla game according to my testing. It always is left on in vanilla. Could someone take screenshots?

bShadowsOnGrass does something? In combination with ENB maybe? My testing seems to indicate the setting is broken: grass shadows are always enabled.

We transclude some of the tweaks into the main guide page, and we don't include that one, so the only way to do it was to put it in its own separate box.

DROPPED Telvanni Reborn (by Mystery Modder)
DoubleYou replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Hmmm... so maybe we can add this back now. -
Well, so far most tweaks are coming out of the guide from this. It seems that out of 1443 settings, 315 are not even used by the game! All the INI tweaking "experts" should look at the guide as it currently stands, where many of the infamous and !amazing! performance tweaks have been shown to be, well, placebo. I have removed and/or fixed the following invalid INI tweaks listed on the STEP Guide: f3PBoltTiltUpAngle not recognized by gameiPresentInterval updated recommendationbMouseAcceleration not recognized by gamebDecalsOnSkinnedGeometry not used by gameiMaxDecalsPerFrame moved into [Display] section from incorrect placement in [Decals] section

Arisu, the guy who originally made the Skyrim Acceleration Layer, was able somehow to retrieve these settings from the exe file at the time. Unfortunately, some of it is outdated, but it certainly is useful, especially for the full floating point values. https://www.gamesas.com/arisu-skyrim-ini-reference-all-1483-settings-and-t211148.html

Killer bad tweak of the day: Skyrim.ini [General] bMTRendering=1 This tweak does something to the rendering in order to--cause the game to freeze up and not do anything!

Now for the performance tweaks of the day! Skyrim.ini [Trees] bEnableTreeAnimations=0 [Grass] fGrassWindMagnitudeMax=0 fGrassWindMagnitudeMin=0 This will turn off tree and grass animations, which should give better performance.

Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 2 not working.
DoubleYou replied to NomenNescio's question in Mod Organizer Support
That's what Keithinhanoi was trying, but failed to find any way of rectifying. -
iFPSClamp was a fun setting to test out on 1. You should try it some time just for the heck of it. Skyrim.ini [General] iFPSClamp=2 What it does: iFPSClamp This setting aligns the FPS of gameplay to that of your actual fps. It makes all game actions happen at a speed of your FPS divided by this value. If you get 60 fps and set this to 2, the game animations and everything will be 30 times as fast as normal, with accompanying bugs. If used, it is best to set it at a little under your current FPS. It is recommended to leave this at default its default 0 so that the game speed always is the same speed as your FPS. Default is 0. iFPSClamp=(0,1,2,...)

1. Start Mod Organizer. 2. Click the backup buttons for the modlist and plugins lists on all profiles. 3. Go into Settings and untick the Advanced checkbox for redirecting the directories. 4. Copy and Paste the entire ModOrganizer folder to the new location. 5. Start Mod Organizer. Everything should be as it was. 6. If not: a. Go to Settings and check Advanced and ascertain that all the directories are correct. b. Then restore the backed up modlist and plugins lists you made in step 2 via the restore button.

Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 2 not working.
DoubleYou replied to NomenNescio's question in Mod Organizer Support
Well, everything in your Mod Organizer setup is correct, so it must be the interaction between MO and something else that is preventing it from working. Typically that means your antivirus or some sort of Smart Defrag tool, etc. What security or pc optimization software(s) are you running? -
Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 2 not working.
DoubleYou replied to NomenNescio's question in Mod Organizer Support
Everything there indicates the Audio Overhaul for Skyrim is working. Load it up and at the menu coc qasmoke and fire some arrows at the practice dummy twice: once with AOS mod enabled and one disabled and you should hear a slight difference in the sound. Oh, and delete the AOS.ini from overwrite if you haven't. -
Actually you are somewhat correct. The values are never added by the launcher or in game-generated INIs, but they do appear in the stock Skyrim_default.ini and Skyrim\SkyrimPrefs.ini files that ship with the game but are never seemingly used, which I cannot seem to find a single use for in any game operations, but there could be. My theory is that people looked at these files and found the settings and thought they did something (or maybe they indeed did something at some point) and then started broadcasting them. What is certain and important now is that they do not work and are not recognized by the game.

That is the exact same behavior I received. It would seem there is only one level of radial blur that actually works: on. I tried negative values in addition to positive integers, and all CTD if not at the default. Thanks for the screens. I may use them for bDoRadialBlur. You and I are both running AMD graphics. Could someone with an Nvidia card test it and confirm that this isn't a graphics card difference? If changing iRadialBlurLevel always produces CTD, it will get a big fat warning of NO TWEAKING in the guide.

Here is a list of all the legitimate INI settings related to shadows and their default values. Skyrim.ini [Display] bActorSelfShadowing=0 fShadowFadeTime=1.0000 fShadowLODDefaultStartFade=200.0000 fShadowLODRange=200.0000 fSunShadowUpdateTime=1.0000 fSunUpdateThreshold=0.5000 SkyrimPrefs.ini bDeferredShadows=1 bDrawLandShadows=0 bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 bShadowMaskZPrepass=0 bShadowsOnGrass=1 bTreesReceiveShadows=0 fInteriorShadowDistance=3000.0000 fShadowBiasScale=1.0000 fShadowDistance=2500.0000 fShadowLODStartFade=200.0000 iBlurDeferredShadowMask=5 iShadowFilter=3 iShadowMapResolution=1024 iShadowMaskQuarter=4 iShadowMode=3Please realize that the following tweaks do not do anything and are never accessed by the game. This has been verified empirically and through console commands. iShadowMapResolutionPrimary iShadowMapResolutionSecondary iShadowSplitCount Please also realize that the following tweaks, while recognized by the game as valid, may never actually be used by the game. bEquippedTorchesCastShadows fShadowLODMaxStartFade fShadowLODMinStartFade bDrawShadows The default values actually do not look too bad, but is prone to shadow striping. The untouched shadow tweaks in Skyrim.ini look like they may prove invaluable if they do what they likely do. There are other parameters that may affect shadows other than those mentioned here, and they can be reviewed on the WIP Skyrim INI guide.

Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 2 not working.
DoubleYou replied to NomenNescio's question in Mod Organizer Support
Please do the following: Make a profile with only Skyrim and AOS active and run it. Once at the menu, open the console (~) and type saveini and press enter. Then exit. Paste the contents of the newest Mod Organizer log file (not ui log) on Pastebin and give the link. Also, go into the ModOrganizer\profiles\name-of-the-profile-you-used and paste on Pastebin all the files in there and give the links with their names. Finally, go into the ModOrganizer\overwrite folder and find the INI file created from the console and paste its contents on Pastebin and give the link. -
SkyFalls and SkyMills FOMOD-BAIN Installer is correct. Will specify. Thanks.
