Monitor, 144 Hertz, V-sync, Enb, Performance and Cheese
TehKaoZ posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hello, I am curious if I am doing this right and was hoping to find someone with a bit of knowledge who could help. Not too recently I got this monitor :https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313 It runs at 144 Hertz and I was trying to figure out how this would work in enb. I am not super technical but based on my research this type of number is more or less useless for Skyrim because by default the games fps is capped at 60. Furthermore I cap my fps at 35 because I use a pretty heavy enb (Serenity) and I hate when my frames jump up and down by drastic numbers. The advice online is that one should set their V-sync (via Nvidia inspector) at 1/3 refresh or 1/4 to prevent the monitor from producing a sort of ghosting effect at lower frames. Basically what I did was turn off enb v-sync, and set to system 1/4 refresh. Other types of advice included setting the monitor to lower Hertz but the screen's colors look completely off when I do this (plus I can only set it as low as 120). Anyways, wondering if anyone uses a similar monitor and what they did when running Skyrim. Thanks! -
Using this, love it. Just one less thing that I have to worry about in the AA department.

SKYRIMLE Wintermyst - Enchantments of Skyrim (by Enai Siaion and T3nd0)
TehKaoZ replied to keithinhanoi's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Not to veer off topic but I have to disagree about Apocalypse. I don't think the mod was ever really intended for you to use all 200 spells unless you are going total mage. If I were to make a spell thief I would only likely bother with maybe 2 schools of magic and ignore the rest (same for the vanilla spells). The number promotes diversity in spells to help customize a play style to your character, so installing 200 spells to use 5 makes perfect sense to me. Many of the spells are very evidently inspired by Dungeons & Dragons as well (Of course to say D&D has redundancy in spells is another topic entirely). That being said, as far as balance goes I can definitely see some of them causing issues and of course some of the spells I don't like at all (instant death base spells for example). Any who didn't wanna go off topic. If I had to guess (and guessing I am) this mod is suppose to promote a similar idea. -

Doesn't NPC enchantment fixes just give NPC's the ability to take advantage of enchantments via a perk. Doesn't actually put enchantments on any weapons, 3rd party or otherwise? -
From Mod Page: "This mod adds a small farmhouse belonging to Lokir in Rorikstead, with a couple of notes providing possible reasons for his eventual appearance alongside the player in Helgen. These are only suggestions, and the final interpretation is left to the player." a simple yet clever little mod that adds a house for the Horse Thief who claimed to be from Rorikstead. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58496/?

I imagine things like Falskaar and Wyrmstooth will take a bit of time for patch up, but checking this thread with an eagle eye -

Hello All, Random Inquiry about an issue I began having. Probably nothing I can do about it but figured I'd get some feedback I run a good deal of 2k textures along with a pretty heavy enb (Serenity, tuned down to playable). I usually don't install things like more NPC's or town/city overhauls but I really loved the JK series, specifically his whiterun. Ref: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56639/? Unfortunately, When wondering around the city and zoning in and out of different interiors in about 5 minutes my game will minimize and a windows dialogue pops up complaining that my system is running out of memory and should close certain programs to prevent loss of data (with Skyrim listed as the memory hogger). The game doesn't actually CTD or freeze or anything, I could technically keep playing but I usually just save and quit at that point. I use the memory patch and here are my enb boost settings. [MEMORY]ExpandSystemMemoryX64=trueReduceSystemMemoryUsage=trueDisableDriverMemoryManager=falseDisablePreloadToVRAM=falseEnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=falseReservedMemorySizeMb=256VideoMemorySizeMb=5120EnableCompression=trueAutodetectVideoMemorySize=false I may just be pushing my system to the limit, but wanted to see based on my hardware and Skyrim config if anything could be done. I had to uninstall such mods for the time being to avoid this issue. Thanks in advance!

SKYRIMLE Orsinium - Land of the Orcs (by GrandDukeAdense)
TehKaoZ replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I always both admire and feel bad for mod authors who try to take on such ambitious tasks of creating mods as big as new lands/ questing/ ect. I think many of them don't realize that even with a team it can take years to get them off the ground. Many simply run out of steam, still it's nice that he released what he did and perhaps something more will develop in the future -
Thanks DoubleYou

Random Question: Sometimes LOOT randomly decides to shuffle my load order (Like move one plugin two down or two up), The moves themselves don't really seem to serve a purpose as half the time the plugins are unrelated and doesn't change anything in terms of conflict. I'm not really sure why it sorts it one way, and then a day or two later may decide that it has a better way to sort it. Anywho, my question is whether or not this random shuffling will cause any issues with save games? I want to say it should be fine, but figured I'd ask.

Mod Suggestions for SR - Post in STEP Mods Forum
TehKaoZ replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I was wondering why none of the Bookshelf SKSE scripts were never included. Both Book Covers of Skyrim and now Lost Library are in the guide. Personal preference or is something off about those scripts? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49770/? -
This occurs when I give the follower a certain amount of iron arrows below the maximum. The crash is very repeatable and happens without fail. First when it occured it happened with Vilja, so I tried it with a vanilla follower and still occurs. Finally I tried with with different arrows (Ancient Nordic) but could not get it to crash. Found a few vague references online of people having this but no one posted a solution. I assume a mod conflict Load Order: https://pastebin.com/K8RxE4Bi Many Thanks in advance for any help! Edit: Found an old thread that where it was believed to be some sort of Skyrim Engine Bug. That's frustrating... If anyone else has any info on this please share. Ref Thread: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1171397-equping-iron-arrows-caused-ctd/

it's fully compatible with xp32 maximum skeleton 1.93a as well as FNIS. Can't speak for the new HDT version though since I haven't tried it yet.

Anyone else having a problem with LOOT wanting to places RSChildren.esm right after the Update.esm causing the masters of RSChildren - Complete.esp to be out of order. All editing metadata does is cause cyclic errors, it simply refuses to load it below the DLCs Edit: so the problem comes from the USKP being told to load after RSChildren.esm, except I didn't tell it to do this and I can't remove the stipulation, which leads me to believe either something is messed up in my LOOT setup or someone added this to the LOOT masterlist.

I think what impresses me the most about his mods is how he is able to accomplish them in such unique ways. With ineeds he managed to avoid the need for several patches and preserve vanilla aspects of food, then with this mod he simply uses a system already in place (tempering) to create a degradation system all the while making it include those of mod added weapons and armor. It's like he just says "screw engine limitations" and does what he wants

Does anyone know if LOOT tells you how many plugins you currently have in your load order? atm the only way I can find out is if I manually count the plugins or run boss just to tell me the total.

My only real issue with this utility is that it needs some sort of child safety locks on it. Reading the comments thread on it people seem to think of this and other similar utilities as Lysol or something where simply having a save game means it's dirty and it has to be "cleaned" and leading to people doing things they shouldn't. But I suppose this comes with the territory of such a program.

SKYRIMLE Skyrim High Definition LODs (by tamu75)
TehKaoZ replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Need like a compare compilation for all these LOD mods >.> -
From my experience both mods are fantastic. Healing the player is planned for EFF but when/if it happens is still in question. The beta is also perfectly stable for a play-through as well according to the mod author, it is simply marked as beta because he still plans on adding features. Both mods share a lot of the same features but have some strength and weaknesses for each For me I would say: EFF Pros: - The wheel interface in the beta version is fantastic and much more convenient that navigating through slews of dialogue options - It also comes with an MCM menu for additional customization - Followers health/stamina/magicka bars displayed as hud widgets is pretty awesome, allows for you to see how they are doing in combat EFF Cons: - A lot of plugins (esp), Author plans on merging them eventually but I think its about 4 or 5 plugins for the mod currently - currently no support for animal followers - no player healing (yet) AFT Pros - More customization of followers through custom leveling options such as what skills/abilities to increase - ability to heal the player AFT Cons - Supposedly AFT is more script intensive based on my research. While I never had issues with it in this regard it might put extra stress on your game if your already running a lot of scripts - limited to 5 followers (although, I never use more then 2 or 3 anyways) I know there is more, this is just off the top of my head.
