Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
TehKaoZ replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Hello Neovalen I imagine that you will be switching the guide over to use LOOT at some point (perhaps when it's out of beta). I been fiddling around with it but haven't actually allowed it to take over my load order. My concern is how it will effect conflict resolution/order of masters with certain mods (if at all). I don't think it would be a good idea to have such a drastic change to the load order mid-way in a play-through. Wonder then, if I should attempt to switch over to LOOT now, or keep BOSS despite it eventually becoming outdated. -
Did a few short stress tests. No perceivable difference for me.

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

I sent him a PM with some of the fixes and linked the SR:LE conflict resolution guide to him, But I'm far from an expert on the subject. Could be beneficial if someone with more knowledge talk to him =p -
Has the ELE conflict resolution been 100% finished?

eh.. Also will reflect Crimson13 here. It's good that some notable people are testing it and trying to figure out "how" it works. Unfortunately whether is works or not I expect this to be praised (already see ppl calling it the "holy grail") and possible shoot up to FOTM in the next 2 days or so. For my own part I won't be touching this with a 10 foot pole until the frenzy dies out and the results are in from the pro's.

I'm trying to find a post Arthmoor made a while back somewhere on beth forums explaining it. But basically, expanding ugrids does more than just provide a visual enhancement by pushing LOD's back, your effectively making the game load more cells and as a result things start to break. So not only do visual things load further, but scripts load to accommodate more area doubling that load, certain quest events will trigger way before the player gets within visual range and some will just break because the event loads so far away with the player missing. The famous example was that a giant dies a half a mile away and you get a completed quest for killing it having never seen it.The arthmoor post explains it much better if I could find it, but this is the basic gist. Many people think ugrids just does visuals, but it does way more. Here's One I found, Arthmoor: "That said, it's important to keep in mind that there are hundreds of other scripts set up to activate during an OnLoad() event. The more grids you enable, the further away these events will trigger. You may well find it breaking quests as Bethesda's setup assumes it will never be changed from 5. You'll also very likely miss out on a lot of the neat little random road encounters that exist that only function correctly at closer distances. Not to mention, you'll start running into classic cases of AI overload those of us who have played Oblivion will recognize immediately. Skyrim has done a lot to optimize AI but when you start hitting 9/13/15 etc you're going to notice a lot of NPCs just standing around ignoring everything because there's simply too many of them in the loaded area. This sort of thing will also impact quests that fill aliases based on what's in the loaded area. The pool for selection will be significantly larger and you may end up with some unpleasant surprises filling your aliases and doing things you don't want them doing because of it. Which can then lead to further breakage of other things if your aliases have them leave their areas to go do something elsewhere." Is there a mod that... (Mod Detectives)
TehKaoZ replied to rootsrat's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
"Is there a mod that..." provides a good lore-friendly mark and recall spell that is up-to-date and isn't part of a huge spell pack? So far I am looking at Portal - Dynamically Placed Teleportation. But curious if anyone else has any ideas. Thanks! -
no, these objects have collision in vanilla Skyrim.
-
LoL, Idono of any fix, but it sure is amusing when you escape battle with 5 health and die from rogue pot collision =p

iNeeds as far as I know requires no patches, it seems to be compatible out of the box. Yeah, I was a bit sad to hear of her retiring too, she has done steller work with her mods, and they are completely 100% functional in the current state. But I suppose it's good since she wants to move on. Wish their was a mod hall of fame, RND has served me very well over the years ^.^

perseid9 has retired her mod it seems "End of Support NoteBy now I have felt obligated to support/update my mod due to its popularity, but lately it's becoming more a burden than fun, as I'm no longer playing skyrim, too many games not enough time. Now isoku has introduced iNeed, I'm sure isoku will take care of all the needs in no time, so I believe it's time for me and my mod to retire. There will be no more updates."

DoubleYou, there is a report button for mods, its right below the version number called "Report"

SKYRIMLE No Snow Under the Roof (by Prometheus)
TehKaoZ replied to Allsunday's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I agree with Noobsayer, as a user I am knowledgable enough to "probably" fix any of those issues myself but it does not make me feel safe to install a mod in which the author does not seem particularly concerned about his mod working correctly. In addition, the lay user unfortunetly will not know how to fix these things themselves and as a result will likely end up bombarding his page with troubleshooting questions continiously; much to his own dismay, I'm sure. I am the first to jump up and defend mod authors about needy or demanding users, but in this case I feel like people are just trying to provide constructive feedback and are being ignored or pressured to give endorsements/votes. -
If you install XCE without the HRDLC's activated you will get blocky noses. In order to avoid this you will have to go into XCE's optionals folder and install the "Character Normal Maps" as well (or as previously stated activate the HRDLC's esps)

SKYRIMLE No Snow Under the Roof (by Prometheus)

This might be the best course of action keithinhanoi, as I don't think prometheus is interested in trying to provide compatibility. I love his mod but he appears more interested in endorsements and votes. -

I don't know if it's the language barrier but he seems to have trouble understanding some of the instructions and/or requests on his page. It might help to send the author your fixed stuff Winterlove to maybe help him gain a better understanding of what needed to be done, idono. IMO this mod will be essential for me once all the compatibility stuff is taken into account. -

Did a quick test, the SMIM thing I believe Neovalen might be referring to are the ropes that wrap around the farmhouse wood pillars. They are flat again, the rope railing between the pillars is still 3d though. Not a mod guru so I have no idea how that would be fixed -
Both mods are compatible, I don't really know what you mean by "auto" either, this mod allows you to customize how potions function in-game.

well he's editing the building models themselves. The textures used are based on whatever you have installed. -
From what I garner the intent I suppose is to be even more simple than RND is (which I also feel isn't complex). Some possible pros - So far it looks like it is more compatible and will need less patches than RND (no direct edits, draws from timescale, ect) - The widgets are nice - followers and horses accounted for? sweet! compared to RND - diseases? RND didn't just give diseases based on certain food but it revamped diseases in general, something I think no one thinks much about =p - less incentive to cook (raw vs cooked) - I didn't see an option to refill water skins in bodies of water, probably a mute point though - no food spoilage option, no chance of death, no getting drunk? just what I noticed based on description. sure video reviews will be up soon. It's Isoku so I know it's a solid mod, but I think it's meant for people who want the bare bones of a needs based mod. Edit: from Isoku's comments "There are negative effects from eating raw food--nothing to do with diseases though. I left out this information because I didn't feel it was important. You shouldn't be eating raw meat anyways. Regarding diseases and food effects, altering those would upset the simplicity of this mod and require me to create and manage several different patches. My target audience is not the RND user. I'm targeting those who find the needs mods currently out there too much of a hassle to use and maintain. This mod is plug and play and straightforward--there won't be any patches or crouching or cluttered crafting lists to deal with."

author is willing to provide compatibility for it but he wants permission from sparrowprince first, he says he is unable to contact him through nexus though -
SKYRIMLE No Snow Under the Roof (by Prometheus)
TehKaoZ replied to Allsunday's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Supposedly their is a conflict between this and Better Dynamic Snow (not really sure what the specifics are). Author wants to reach SparrowPrince about getting compatibility in but says he can't reach him through nexus. If anyone knows SparrowPrince and can contact him I'm sure the author + community would be appreciative. -

Yeah I agree with it not being a fix, I don't mind the outline. It's good for people who do though
