CTD when loading saved game or entering new cells
TehKaoZ replied to Frizby's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Sounds similar to the problem I am having that I posed several pages back. I start a new save and make a few saves in the LAL jail cell between configuring my MCM menus. 2 out of every 5 loads cause the game to CTD. When I left the cell and ran around Riverwood though, I could not reproduce the CTD when loading from those areas. -
Current Load Order: https://pastebin.com/6Wtiz0eS I have been tweaking my load order for some time but recently I began to have crashes in save game loads. These games are brand new games that are still in the Live Another Life prison cell. I will often configure MCM menu's and make a save, go back in later to load and CTD. What's more infuriating though is that it's not always reproducible and will sometimes load fine. I have SKSE configured for memory patch as well as enboost enabled even though it sorta sounds like a memory issue. I originally was using Wrye Bash but completely reinstalled everything and switched over to MO. now 90% through reconstructing my load order and this crash is back. Been pouring over forum threads to see if a specific mod has it. Not an easy thing to track down, but if anyone heard about something similar they saw on one of the mod forums, ect. let me know Thanks!

[Fallout 4] Modding and Mods Wishlist
TehKaoZ replied to Genius384's topic in General Fallout 3 Discussion & Support
Could make a massive list, but for basic must haves. - keybinding, UI overhaul. - Higher resolution Textures. -
Figured I would update to be ready for FO4, but I'll keep em rolled back for now then :)

Hello All, Recently I updated my Nvidia drivers to 358.87 and when I turned on Skyrim half my enb effects no longer worked correctly. I was using Serenity ENB _ ExtendedFX by prod80 with the latest binary. I rolled back the driver to 355.60 and all as normal again. I was curious if anyone else has suffered similar issues? Thanks!
-
Oh I see, Thanks Neovalen

Anyone know if ASIS is even being supported anymore? Wondering if we will see a SkyProc update to it to fix the patch issue.

Post Arthmoor made on the thread

Very happy this thread exists. I may put 10 on my laptop (damn thing runs Windows 8 anyways) but I am having doubts as to whether my gaming desktop will see it. "Project Spartan" sounds like their trying hard to sound edgy, then just said eff it and renamed it "Edge"

Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
TehKaoZ replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Actually missed this mod completely until I rechecked SRLE to see what was newly added. I really don't get how you do it Sheson, it's sort of like the normal rules of modding don't apply to you and your just like "psh, broken Skyrim? fixed" now "psh dynamic Lod's? fixed", I suppose it's all those first borns huh... I actually have improved performance vs Skyrim Distance Overhaul. I used to get a pretty bad stutter in certain locations (about a 1.5 second pause) but now it's either non-existent or something like 0.1 seconds. framerate is higher as well. I run on medium setting Only thing I have a slight concern about is the "clean save" method listed in updating within the tutorial video. I always feel like I'm playing Russian roulette with my save every-time I do something like that, even with stuff like the Save Game Script Cleaner and what not. Is is absolutely needed? or perhaps an easier method in the future? Thanks! -
Thanks for the Replies Architecture/farmhouse/ropes is for the textures, Meshes seem much more confusing as per naming conventions. I'll probably just have to start uninstalling stuff to see what happens.
-
Hello All, Recently I noticed that the Rope meshes that wrap around the wood pillars on the surrounding wall of Riverwood (probably other locations too, didn't check) are non-3d. I can't figure out for the life of me what meshes these are. Makes it difficult to track down what mod could be overwriting them. Probably something farmhouse related but If I knew which ones specifically I could key in on them. Just wondering if anyone knows what meshes these might be? Could save me a bit of time, Thanks!

Is there a mod that... (Mod Detectives)
TehKaoZ replied to rootsrat's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Thanks torminater, This was my original thinking, I may have to try TK dodge again but I believe the reaction time from the dodge was a bit too delayed. Most of the bigger overhauls I tend to avoid for the non-modular reasons. Worse case scenario I will just use a follower as canon fodder -

A good light armor perk overhaul or something that makes light armor more viable versus heavy armor. I know ACE has a decent one but is lowers the number of perks needed to progress through it by quite a bit. I want to do a light armored character who can go into melee dual wielding and not get slaughtered simply for wearing light armor. Also rather not have to spec into another support perk tree (such as restoration, just to keep myself alive) (PS Play on Master Difficulty with several difficulty enhancers) Thanks! -
I think this part annoys me the most, you have certain users (who I won't name) posting as if their some sort of heroes from a great war and that because monetized mods were pulled everything they said and did was "correct" and "justified". My favorites are the ones who act as if the whole protest was THEIR idea. Still, a large portion of them are either fake accounts with a few posts or people who probably never existed on Nexus before and came over from the Steam Workshop or somewhere. I really wonder how many people were angry and disappointed versus people just jumping on a bandwagon. I hesitate to generalize the hatred and vitriol as a reaction of the "community" as a result.
-
Just signed but I mean, do many people know about this one (you know, besides the "Steam Workshop" users)? I know a lot of people have been posting on Chesko's threads showing their support
-
A couple of them are patting themselves on the back as well, as if they are heroes of a great war I'm sure if they monetize mods for other less established or new games they will fair much better. Skyrim is just far too developed into what it is and how it functions, I don't think it's practical to monetize mods at this point. I am still hopeful Chesko and Isoku will be around in the future, once things cool off, I mean.. one can hope right?
-
Yeah, feels like at least some of those people now have egg of their face lol
-
@Greg That's because the mod authors didn't set-up a donation button. Some don't want to accept donations
-
I honestly had no idea donations were so sparse for modders. Before this whole fiasco, I figured the bigger ones would have been getting fairly regular spurts of support, so to speak, especially during updates. I'm not a particularly stable person as far as finances go, but I will definitely try to click that button more
-
holy... wow I didn't actually think that would happen.
-
I don't feel that modders are obligated to provide compatibility even if they sell a monetized mod but rather, meant that users will likely feel entitled to that support because they paid money. I mean users act entitled even with free content, can't imagine what the introduction of paying customers might do. Either way many people will have no choice then to pester the author since they will be directed there by free authors who don't have access
-
@kryptopyr The only problem though is that people who paid for a mod and now can't use other mods as a result of compatibility issues won't see it that way and since realistically speaking the only people who can provide that compatibility are those who have access to the monetized mod (the user and the author). Since the user is the customer, they may be less inclined try to patch things themselves and expect the product they paid for to simply work the way they want it to. With free modding a user was not entitled to anything, but can you really tell someone who spent money that they aren't entitled at that point?
-
HA, sorry this made my laugh out loud. Even if purity is a good standalone mod, anyone whose played enough with enb knows better (See Prod80's work). But the compatibility thing is already starting, on several mods I see people asking for patches as if it's "business as usual". I always use to tell rude users that mod authors are not customer service at Wal-Mart. But honestly, if your selling a mod, you ARE customer service and need to take full responsibility for your customers, which includes patches, support, compatibility help. I am not for spewing hatred or negativity at mod authors but if you paid for something and can't get help for that product you paid for, welcome to the "raging dissatisfied customer"
