frihyland Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Langleys Wood Metal and Stone Textures Workshop Stunning quality of work here, still downloading so I haven't compared it to SRO for example but it looks promising. Mod Testing: Recommendations? Neovalen seems to have a good idea of what to use. A few screenshot comparisions? JudgmentJay Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I mentioned in the TPC thread that there are about 30 textures/normals that aren't covered by TPC (or any STEP mod) in this package. Looks pretty good.
Starac Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 I would not call it stunning. Some textures are good, some horrible, and some don't really fit.
Kelmych Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 The recent updates have added some good Dragonborn DLC textures, and Cestral chose a number of textures from this mod for TPC. Since we seem to be willing lately to be willing to add selected textures from at least some mods (we've been doing this for some of the foliage mods) we might want to look at what Cestral selected from this mod as well as comparing the new Dragonborn textures with other alternatives.
Neovalen Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I really like this texture packs, but as Starac stated before... some of is great, some is horrible, and some just doesn't fit. Lots of conflicts with various mods. Making decisions on this one is a huge pain... but worth it. In the process of evaluating 1.4 for SR now myself. Been using 1.3 before that.
WilliamImm Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 So, any other feedback on this mod? I have prepared a BCF for 1.4a (requires both 1.4 and the update) that follows Neovalen's recommendations, which I should be able to upload shortly.
TechAngel85 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 BCF is really jumping the gun on this one. We need screens and compares of all the conflicts. However, I agree with Kelmych here and completely trust Cestral's judgement as he's proven himself in this community. Since Neo has been using it, maybe he can provide a list of conflicting files?
WilliamImm Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Isn't Neo also a trusted member of the community? Think his recommendations for this mod are based on Central. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2Yes, but you've been here long enough to know that isn't how we proceed with testing and getting mods into STEP. Neo has he own thing right now of which, none of the core STEP team uses. So we don't know what the textures look like compared to the current STEP.
WilliamImm Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Well, then it's going to be a busy weekend for me if I'm the only one testing this. Guess we should start testing with Cestral's recommendations, then with the other textures. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
z929669 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 It is OK to create a BCF (and announce it). Agree though that we need to keep vigilant on the testing data requirements such that we vet each mod on the respective mod thread before accepting into STEP. This way we keep an organized record of exactly why a given mod was accepted (believe me, it is a question that comes up often about certain mods!). However, I am inclined to consider creation of mod pages for mods that are not necessarily accepted. Particularly regarding mods that are being used in Skyrim Revisited. More on this stuff later though ... For now, we should stick to the MT protocol stickied on the MS forum (let me know if that needs revision)
Neovalen Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Always willing to have my choices double checked - I try to be as vigilant as possible for SR but I'm not above mistakes. To err is human after all. ;)
z929669 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 SR is a grand testing ground of sorts. I'd like to integrate SR workflow into STEP soon as much as possible. Same goes for the forums (a lot of unnecessary redundancy now, particularly with regard to support and certain guide topics (e.g. DDSopt). Need to think about this more once I get my STEP install updated.
WilliamImm Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Going to move this to the mod testing forum. Neovalen has pretty much selected which textures he likes the best, but it helps to have more opinions.
