I've made an update that should work for Basic. I'm interested in any improvements you people make, i can include them and credit you if i'm happy with it ;) Sometimes i'm sloppy or just uninterested (especially anything that has to do with the LOD).

Heya Vurt. I completely understand. I coudn't imagine doing all you have done with this mod. It is easy for me to nitpick a texure here and there ... and spend hours fiddling with just the few I bother with.

I am nearly finished with my modifications. I'll post a detailed gallery (vanilla lighting only) when I am finished and share the textures I changed. It may be better to incorporate them as options in a single mod if you are interested. Since Sparrow has offered to fomod, I am sure that he will place it all in a BAIN structure.

I think it would be great if you were to include your favorite base for each of the relevant versions of your mod and then include some optional changes. Much better than me adding to the clutter of your Nexus mod :P

I finally finished revising LODs for 179e, 181b-Basic and 182/3. I also modified a few of the snowy pines branches and bark. Everything matches nicely under vanilla lighting (and it should match under any lighting ... i.e., artifacts should be similar for close-up and LOD alike).

Textures modifed for the "Recolored" versions:

179e & 182/3 - Regular

textures\landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnow.dds (brightened up a bit, and added more red to stems and green to branches)

textures\landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnowl.dds (brightened up a bit, and added more red to stems and green to branches)

textures\landscape\trees\vurt_pbark.dds (made bark more orang-ish)

textures\landscape\trees\vurt_pbarksnowy.dds (made bark more orang-ish)

textures\landscape\trees\vurt_PineSnowy.dds (added more 'snow')

textures\terrain\tamriel\trees\tamrieltreelod.dds (lots and lots of very small changes with a few larger ones as well)

181b - Basic

textures\landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnow.dds (same texture as above)

textures\landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnowl.dds (same texture as above)

textures\terrain\tamriel\trees\tamrieltreelod.dds (lots and lots of very small changes with a few larger ones as well)

I am also using the following grass from 179e in 183:

textures\landscape\grass\tundragrassobj01.dds

textures\landscape\grass\tundragrassobj04.dds

textures\landscape\grass\Vurt_TundraRedFlora.dds

The image names identify the content (modified versions appear ath #3, #5 & #8 in each image set):

HINT: When viewing the gallery, let it load for a few minutes before flipping through the images. These are PNG, so they are rather large. Keep the mous cursor off of the image space and in the lower left corner to keep the navigation bar in view. Use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate, toggling back and forth as necessary!

... I'll package these up this weekend and post on Vurt's page.

Fixed up mine yesterday.... man I hate LOD´s....

Almost impossible to get rid of that "plastered on" look they tend to have.

I personally find the winter pines too white.. but then again I use my own ENB so that is why I have to make my own texture edits.

Overall nice job on this Z. Its sure to help out alot of people with vanilla lighting! :)

I ended up going back to the 179e winter pines, since they do do blend better from my pov.

Also it was easier to make the LOD look nice, rather then using the new ones.

The new ones are just too bright... hence if I make the LOD match those then at night they will look really bright and out of place.

In general I think there is just a bit too much yellow in them, reducing that helps alot, but the 179e version has just the right amount... so was easier to just use that.

The curse of not just using vanilla lighting! :)

Which source LOD are you referring to? The default 179e verses the "new" 182b?

My new revisions are also desaturated a bit from previous, especially for snowy pines. I have been tying to keep the snow part pure white while only allowing color to shadow and midtones.

Looks great! Not sure i understand why you included the red aspen in the LOD though since it's been removed since a while back.

Where does the added grass / stones in the LOD come from? Renn? I take it you have his permission if it's his? Anyways i like it, the whiter snow looks much better.

Thanks! I had great source ;)

Red aspen is still in 179e, so only that LOD has it. 18+ uses same LOD with yellow version.

Rennn used vanilla source and simply added some color changes and no new bits, so it's OK. Completely changed now, so this could just as easily have been derived from the original vanilla version.

Yep, we are switching to Google Drive, since it is 15 GB free to start. Used your other email though.

What exactly is included in the SFO v183 update? I see that it includes another Skyrim Flora Overhaul.esp. Do I not use the esp from the main file and only use the esp from this file? I am very confused.

Description only says: Update for Regular and Basic (untested for Basic but i can't see why it wouldnt work). Mainly changes to the tundra.
