TechAngel85 Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 Looks like Hodilton has already made a video of your preset, Jafin:
Jafin16 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 That is freaking awesome :) Got it up on my description page.
GrantSP Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Yes, that video is awesome, but if that is what your ENB preset can do to the game then the truly awesome thing is what you have created. Amazing. If it wasn't for that dragon flying in the distance around the 2 minute mark I could have believed it was just some footage from a camping trip in the Canadian Rockies or something. Fantastic work. To be honest I have never gotten into ENBs before, seemed like too many variables to fiddle with and it still came out like a colour splash over the game. I'm going to have to rethink my position on them now. Heading over to Nexus to get my download now.
TechAngel85 Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Okay, guys. I've finished looking through most of the release threads on ENB Dev and have provided reference links to the information I could find. As you will be able to see, it's not very much. This is as expected because Boris is flat out terrible with documentation. He basically developments a feature, says "I've added these parameters", and that is it; leaving it up to everyone else to figure out what the heck all the parameters do. At this point, I'm going to refocus again and go back to taking some compare shots and making sure the values for the parameters are accurate. I'll be using JawZ's ELEP to do the compares.
TechAngel85 Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 Before I cause an uproar on the ENB Dev forums, I'll ask for confirmation here... In the 0.198 release thread it states that EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks was removed. I never seen any reference where it was added back in. Can any confirm that is parameter no long works or serves a function?
Aiyen Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 If Boris have said it then it must be so... not really any way for us to test it.
TechAngel85 Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 The reason this caught my intention is because the parameter is still in the latest binary.
Freyrgjurd Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I guess it is now obsolete because of Sheson's memory patch.I tried to enable it, but didn't notice a single diference. Maybe with some exact testing might see something, but it is no longer a variable that affects the game in a noticeable way.
hishutup Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) its was for the 32bit OS... I cant remember what it did exactly but maybe allow more than the 2.2 GB memory limit but I could be incorrect Edited November 17, 2014 by hishutup
TechAngel85 Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Boris confirmed that the parameter still works and was added back in v0.209.
Jafin16 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Just wanted to update and say I've added a little explanatory info to a number of the Water entries. I'll keep filling in more as I have time and add a little more information about some of the entries I already made.
TechAngel85 Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 If anyone is still keeping up with this... Z has finished applying the new layout to the Guide which consists of a main page with sub-pages for each of the individual sections. It's different than most Guides; however, this was the best way to set up such a Guide with as many images as it's going to have. As for news on progress, I've finished up the Skylighting section. It will need to be checked and verified for accuracy.
hishutup Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Are the brackets around each section intentional or no? I dont really have an opinion on how it functions but it is definitely different...
z929669 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Brackets were intended to indicate that we are referring to actual INI sections as they exist by default and in the same order. This is tremendously helpful to anyone editing that INI (which I have done a lot). Visually, the guide sections and settings should parallel the enbseries.ini that ships with the latest release. @TechHave a look at this discussion, where I mention the same in regards to your edit. Unless we get repeated complaints, I think it is pretty useful this way.
phazer11 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Am I the only one seeing a blank wiki page on that link Zed posted?
