Question

Posted
Hello,

I finally finished to install everything from the guide but when I launch FNV4GB.exe from MO with all the proper parameter (if I don't it crashes) it launches the default launcher and no mods are loaded.

If I launch the launcher from MO I can see all my mods but it crashes because NVSE is not loaded (I guess).

The NVSE launcher crash on launch.

Anyone already encounter this problem?

Have you done anything special to any executable

Did you set admin mode on anything

Did you change any compatibility settings

How about disable New Vegas Anti-Crash

But that is another long shot...

EDIT1:

Back to the FNV 4GB launcher in MO

Did you happen to misspell the arguments

I am positive that they are case-sensitive

Ok I managed to make it work but it goes against everything said in the guide and on the mod page (well not really actually but the wording is confusing).

I launched it without any argument and it worked...

I put d3d9.dll in the exes folder (which I didn't have before that) and the ENB loaded correctly.

It might be worth noting in the guide to try with no argument first and then add them if necessary.

Thanks all for your help :)

Interesting. Perhaps the latest MO updated added support for FNV 4GB? Just to humor myself, I removed the parameters in the .exe's box and FNV 4GB loaded up with no issue.

This may be worth looking in to. Anyway, I am glad you got it working, Redferne.

Ah, that figures. : This game is never consistent. Especially when it comes to modding. I wonder why all of a sudden it started to launch without the parameters? I have followed Fear and Loathing verbatim.

Is it not possible to 4gb patch the executable directly and not have to worry about launching an additional 4gb injector? I've never really bothered about it since I never had trouble with it, but seems it could be advantageous if possible.

No you cannot. At least not without some sort of wizardry. I tried using CFF explorer a long time ago and when you launch the game it will give you an error. I think this was done on purpose my Obsidian. For Fallout 3 you do not need an injector. You can make the .exe Address Aware and it will be fine. However, such is not the case with New Vegas. Which is why the 4GB launcher was born.

I was doing some more testing and I think I found a solution for this problem. I had to add the the fallout folder path to the path environment string and it works without the -laaexe whatever.

Edit: I tried to shorten the path to the common directory and I could not run the program, I got the error I have been getting. It has to have the full path to the Fallout folder.

If I may add, I have the same issue, however, I'm only half-way through the guide(got to Type3 Body and Armor replacer).

I suddenly found out that FNV doesn't start anymore. So I disabled mods, and I found out that Interior Lighting overhaul is to blame. Once I disable this single mod, everything is working.

I've re-done the instructions (and the new version of them), but to no avail.

Any help here guys?
