Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

Here's my bash tag list. Maybe run Wrye, compare and add if necessary. I'm still reporting a bunch of stuff from BOSS that wasn't on the LOOT list. It gets added pretty quick, but actually going through every plugin takes time.

Okay, I started my new playthrough and have gotten bit into it. Initial testing on some mods:

I like what NVR 3 does, but I find myself missing FCO somewhat. We may need to bug Dracomies and Drumber into making an NVR3 version that uses the custom races from FCO.

Wasteland Uncut is one of those mods you don't know is there, but if you remove it, you'll be walking around wondering where all the piles of rubble and cars went. I really like that type of mod. With reduced outdoor textures it doesn't even affect performance that much at all.

NV UNcut 5 - Wilder Wasteland is in. It is cool addition that I had tested already my last playthrough.

NV Uncut 4 - I will get to this sometime this weekend, but don't anticipate any problems.

NV Uncut 6 - Yuki got a new job and went to PAX, so not sure when YUP will fix this mod. I may have to try it on my own and just give the script to Yuki so he can have it when he has time. Otherwise I like what this mod does.

NVBII - Haven't got there yet in this new playthrough, I'm into NVBI so I will try to finish it the next couple of sessions to get to the second part. Again, I don't expect any problems with the mod, but I just like to test stuff before adding it. ILO now has patches for NVBI and II, so I'll add those to the guide soon. I think they will need C.Light bash tag.

As for merging the NV Uncut stuff, I will add that to the guide today, so users can start getting used to using it. SRLE uses it, I believe, so anyone that has used that guide shouldn't have issues. Very simple procedure and you will save some plugin slots, now that I'm getting over 110 it is better to plan for the future.

Okay I added some merging directions. We'll see how well it goes. Don't use the patches I provided for YUP and NV Uncut mods. I think there was one or two.

You'll also need to get the merge script from the Skyrim nexus, I forgot to add it, but I'm already running late for something and have to go.

here is the Merge Plugins xEdit Script, so everybody can start merging.

SRB, you seem to have forgot something on the merging process, at the end you'll have to rename a folder in New Vegas Uncut 1 - Rotface to Riches.

It's located in that plugin's instalation folder in MO and is something like:

Sound/Voice/rotfacetoriches.esp/MaleGhoul02

You should rename "rotfacetoriches.esp" folder to "New Vegas Uncut Series.esp" (or whatever the name you gave to the merged plugin).

The thing is that, while using Mod Organizer, the xEdit Merge Plugin doesn't seem to do the automatic renaming of folders (At least, for me, it didn't).

I hope it helped. :)

Thanks man, I didn't even think about that. I was in a rush to go out when I posted that part. I cleaned up the directions and added some more specific instructions.

Also, added Uncut Wasteland and the Merge Script to the guide.

Hey SRB, I just wanted to give you heads up about the placement of the New Vegas Uncut Series merging. I think it's a great thing and helped with my first use of the merge script but people coming to the guide for the first time will not have installed YUP at that point which may lead to some confusion. I would suggest making a minor note just to warn them as it may stop people from struggling in the future. Although I may be underestimating the average user of this guide and their ability to read ahead. I know I did when i made the torturous decision to try using the nexus *shudders* during the steam sale.

I guess I didn't think this through when I added it to the guide. I'll probably move it to the bottom or when I start the patching section move the YUP part there.

I removed the YUP part because I don't want to remove the merging directions for that part of the guide since I'll be adding some other mods to that section very soon. I might even add Uncut Wasteland to that part since it would merge quite nicely with those other mods.

I think I'm going to actually have a nice 3-4 hours of playing time today, so that should help me bang out some of this stuff.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble with one mod in the guide. Interior Lighting Overhaul. I've followed the instructions, no loot errors. The game fails to startup with it activated. If I turn it off the game runs fine.

No errors in fnvEdit. I downloaded the most recent main file Interior Lighting Overhaul 6-8-35794-6-8.7z. I did not update, Installed on a clean install.

In the Optional ESP's I have:

Interior Lighting Overhaul - AIO.esp

Interior Lighting Overhaul - Ultimate Edition.esp

In the Available ESP's I have:

ILO - Nevada Skies Patch.esp

ILO - New Vegas Bounties.esp

ILO - NVInteriors Project.esp

Interior Lighting Overhaul - Core.esm

Interior Lighting Overhaul - L38PS.esm
