  1. I know this question is probably redundant but I have had this issue in the past with modding guides. Is it currently a good time to undertake the guide? As in are you planning any major changes shortly that I should wait for or shall I complete it now? Thanks for doing this everyone who has contributed.
  2. Hey guys, what's the general view on https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55334/?. I think it is a valuable addition and I've never tried it personally but it seems like it is very worthwhile. Also with https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55648/? the animations can be used as well allowing for such awesome stuff such as https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/images/78221/?page=1&sort=DESC&pid=0&thread_id=1696598&pUp=1. It isn't quite finished transferring all the animations yet but I think that is most definitely worth keeping an eye upon.
  3. Hey guys, I don't know if you're aware but two days ago, a beta for 3.0 was released and has anyone tried it out yet? So far, it's only 2k and covers landscape but the resolution can be rectified easily I'll assume. From the pictures, it looks promising. I've downloaded it and so far there is only parallax maps for roads which may be redundant depending on whether you use real roads or not. Also it includes 2 4k textures for mountains so it would be well worth optimizing.
  4. I'd like some clarification as to what the grass section in INIs should be set too. I notice that at the end of F&L, my INI still has "iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=2" in fallout.ini and falloutprefs.ini. Surely this would limiting Vurt's Wasteland Flora Overhaul unless of course all of his grass edits are including in his esp which I doubt. So does anyone know of a recommended setting.
  5. Well, I may be wrong about this and I apologize in advance if I am, but I am not certain that Skyrim nor Fallout have to be launched at all. I suspect this primarily because i managed to run DDSopt without either games installed. I trialed this on my brothers computer where he had never played Skyrim or fallout and i managed to successfully DDSOpt a Mod decreasing its size from 18MB to just 4. So I would recommend trying the optimization and let me know how it goes.
  6. I was reading through the ENB guide and noticed some minor spelling mistakes. They aren't exactly guide-breaking but I thought it would be helpful to let you know. application of additional effects, such as bloom, depth of field, reflections, and SSA among others. SSAO most are not kept updateed with the latest ENBSeries versions. updated It is highly recommended to make a back of the original file before doing any form of editing. backup You can adjust the quality of SSAO in the [SSOA_SSIL] section. fairly self-explanatory I wish you the best of luck revamping the guide and I am glad to help.
  7. Hey SRB, I just wanted to give you heads up about the placement of the New Vegas Uncut Series merging. I think it's a great thing and helped with my first use of the merge script but people coming to the guide for the first time will not have installed YUP at that point which may lead to some confusion. I would suggest making a minor note just to warn them as it may stop people from struggling in the future. Although I may be underestimating the average user of this guide and their ability to read ahead. I know I did when i made the torturous decision to try using the nexus *shudders* during the steam sale.
  8. Many thanks, this seemed to do the trick. Yes Windows probably did ruin the permission. Good solution I can't believe I didn't think of something that simple. Keep up the great work,. Your guide is brilliant and your really doing the Fallout: New Vegas community a massive favour.
  9. Hey guys, I will like to find out if anyone can assist me with my problem. It seems I have incurred the wrath of Mod Organizers virtual file system. This was when I went back try to redo the interface installation part. But now it seems that Mod organizer has an invisible HUDMainMenu.xml file and Startmenu.xml file. Is there any hope for my F:NV installation. The error occurs when I launch the fomm fork from Mod Organizer, reactivate the Unified HUD Project. As after i exit FOMM, it appears to dump the files in my overwrite but make them inaccessible to move into a folder. I know very little of Mod organizer workings but perhaps I could solve this through launching a file explorer from within MO. If anyone has the slightest idea as too what I should do next, I would greatly appreciate it.
  10. This mod has appears to have very little people focusing on it but nevertheless I'll make my point, according to MO, this mod is completely redundant due to Unofficial Skyrim Patch. This may mean that I persnally need to adjust the conflicts or this mod may be truly redundant in which case it can be removed.
  11. Hey Guys, I'd just like to say that I'm very grateful for this really helpful tutorial espically the part about UI cause that is a pain to deal but one of the mods has an error that is kinda game-breaking. I apologise if this has already been mentioned but Safe showracemenu - mirrors is currently not working if you try to rename your character. It gets into a loop and your are enable to return to the game. The author appears to have addressed that is an issue in the comments on the mod but he has not uploaded a updated version of the mod. Also it appears that we will not be getting a patch at all so untill some kind fellow fixes this, I would recommend against using safe showracemenu - mirrors and probably just opt for the console version. Hopeful this wasn't already stated.
