Hey guys, just to let you know, I have been playing with Open Cities Skyrim for a few days now with this mod, a modified SR:LE setup (with VEGA and extra graphics), and haven't encountered a single problem. I personally believe that this could warrant an inclusion into STEP, as it increases the immersion of the cities immensely.

I didn't really want to resurrect the OCS thread just to say this.

Idk how you guys got ugrids 7,11, and above to work. I tried changing the ugrids to 7 in game looking out above the entrance to dragonsreach. I did that, launched the map to refresh, and the game crashed. Also same thing happened in another location. i'm using this patch, cell stabalizer, safety load 1.1, and obviously enboost. Seems like the fps hit from going from 5 to 7 wouldn't have been noticeable. Too bad :-/.

Get rid of Safety Load, this patch replaces it.

Well that's funny. I tested ugrids 7 out fine on my old crappy Intel HD Graphics and it didn't crash...

Hmmm. Are you using Safety Load and/or Cell Stabilizer? Perhaps it's the Safety Load + Memory Patch 3.0 combo that's bad.

Don't forget to also change the "uExterior Cell Buffer" when changing ugrids. Remember this formula to calculate the Cell Buffer: (uGridsToLoad + 1)^2. In the case of ugrids to 7 that would be: 7+1x8=64 ( 7+1=8 and 8^2=64). For those that are rusty on math any number to the power of 2 is that number multiplied by itself. (8^2=8x8=64, 4^2=4x4=16, etc etc)

Thanks for reminding me it's power... I wanted to XOR this...

If you use cell stabilizer (aka stableugridstoload) then you can simply set the ugrids to 7 while playing the game, no need for uexterior cell buffer.

Sounds like you are switching ingame only? Raising through console can crash. Set it in ini.

Don't worry about the buffers, the game will always set it just high enough. You can experiment with higher values for performance, but I would assume that only makes sense when you backtrack a lot.

I thought someone determined that the new Skyrim patches from Bethesda automatically changes these values based on your uGrids setting?

You try loading up a playable heavily modded Skyrim on an Arrandale Intel i3 dual core with integrated graphics laptop and then we'll benchmark!!!
