DoYouEvenModBro Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Just wanted to say that I'm using the scratched version of this mod and I really like it. I like the color better than vanilla. The scratches might be a bit uniform like johnnyboy88 says but I still prefer that to the vanilla look. Definitely adds a nice effect.
z929669 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Looks like this one has too much uncertainty and that the textures could be a bit better. I'd rather wait for a Dwemer metal retex that is fashioned more closely to CaBaL's textures. Removing from MT.

phazer11 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 He's referring to the uncertainty with all of the Langley texture mod spinoffs. I'll have to look through these when I get back from sorting through the backlog of the mods in testing. I swear I have to take a break due to system and housing issues and the whole section falls apart!
phryxolydian Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Well, better late than never. I won't be around so much for a while, so I'll leave you guys with these. I only tested the rusty version, let's face it, everyone here is going to flip out saying the clean version is unrealistic and all that jazz so i wasn't about to the extra work. STEP (SRO) > This mod. Here's the rest of the album: https://imgur.com/a/lgkpu#0 1
DoYouEvenModBro Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I've been using the scratched version of this mod for a while and I love it :-) Take some shots around Markarth too :-)
DoubleYou Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I have been a fan of this mod. It was the only one that got rid of some of those absolutely horrid dwemer textures.
phryxolydian Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I agree! This is an excellent addition! Does this not qualify for testing? The Dwemer spider retext was just added, why is this not?!
DoubleYou Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Testing is closed for 2.2.9, and I'd like to keep it that way. I don't want to prolong the 2.2.9 release, and it is seeming to grow longer and longer.
TechAngel85 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 These textures have some weird glows along the ridges in the metal that doesn't exist in vanilla or SRO.
lazygecko Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Thanks for the comparisons. I think I prefer the more contrasted look of the originals. Might also be related to how the reflections work? I really wish we had a nice comprehensive retexture of the whole Dwemer tilesets. When I checked the 2K texture pack one, they just seemed to be the originals upscaled with some added detail and noise on top. Very minimal increase in fidelity for twice the performance cost, so not really worth it in my book.
WilliamImm Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 I'd say for the next edition of STEP, this (and the texture workshop) are shoe-ins for mod testing. When the current tesing for 2.2.9 is done, these two mods will be the first to get added.
Nearox Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Thanks for the screenshots. Guess I'll be tryign this mod out afterall.
rootsrat Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Yup, same here. I agree! This is an excellent addition! Does this not qualify for testing? The Dwemer spider retext was just added, why is this not?! :angry:It was me who added dwemer spider retexture mod into testing after it was officially closed, using my skillz
phryxolydian Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 @lazygecko and Nearox: You're both welcome! I have added just a few more comp. shots to the album from inside Understone Keep, so go check 'em out! OT: Understone Keep Fountains and Rubble really should be part of STEP Extended, what the heck is up with all that fog and crap laying around in vanilla?
