torminater Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Probably the quest would've involved at least a dozen painted cows ;-)
Octopuss Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 This guy is seriously funny, funny being complete understatement. His descriptions just make me choke in tears. "Is this compatible with my nudity mod? Because I can't use it if I can't play as a nude 15 year old girl." Pervert. Civil War Overhaul has zero reported incompatibilities as of this writing. Your armors and 15 year old nude anime girls are safe. Promise. "QUIT SCREWIN' AROUND!!! *shakes Apollo* IS THIS MOD COMPATIBLE WITH SCHLONGS OF SKYRIM OR NOT?!?!?!?!? I NEED TO KNOW THIS OR I WILL LOSE MY FREAKING MIND!!! I think it's safe to say that all genitalia mods are compatible. "I have a question about something that you've already gone over in the description, and I'm asking the question because I didn't read it." I hate you.

EssArrBee Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 I like the opening quote on CWO. "Dear Bethesda, Skyrim is about Dragons and Civil War. And Dragons and Civil War suck in Skyrim. So I fixed them." ~ Apollo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Octopuss Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 There's an update being cooked, it seems. From Combat Drama Overhaul's page: Coming in EGO Build 2: CWO v3 - New radiant quests, increased stability, general bugfixes, increased diversity, better quest rewards, INSPIRATIONWEAR BY MORGAN FREEMAN, addition of help dialog boxes(like you have on when first starting the game), quest logs for battles(finally), possibly more. This was posted at the beginning of december, so it might be close to release?
Tarvok Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) I've been trying to use CWO. It's still buggy. The first time I tried it, Stormcloak side, I didn't start until after I'd killed Alduin, meaning I'd completed Season Unending in the process. I allowed Elenwen to stay for the conference, which enabled me to give the Stormcloaks a second hold to make up for it. Shortly after I killed Alduin, I signed up with the Stormcloaks.Everything went fine until after the Battle of Whiterun, when the civil war began in earnest. WIth all those levels and, perhaps more importantly, Daedric artifacts, I had no difficulty surviving through the battle. Everything was going fine. Then Galmar was "in the middle of something" until the end of time. I tried talking to Ulfric again, which added a SECOND hold capture quest, this one for Solitude, itself. But Galmar is in the middle of something, no matter where he is.I had a LOT of mods installed, so I gave up on this, did a clean reinstall, adding only the unofficial patches, Run for you Lives and When Vampires Attack (not sure why I did that), a water mod (again, failed impulse control), and Apollodown's CWO.This time, I went straight into the Civil War after defeating that initial dragon for Whiterun. I fell several times during the defense of Whiterun (those Stormcloak Mages are TOUGH), having to reload each time because the game wouldn't progress. Finally, I died in a different spot (managed to survive longer) and this time, I made it to an Imperial camp. Whiterun held anyway, and we moved on to attempt Dawnstar. (Interestingly enough, the Imperials appear to have a Dragon at their command, which is currently patrolling the skies over Whiterun. I've seen it swoop down to kill vampires.)The mission to mess with Stormcloak messages went off without a hitch. My stolen Stormcloak uniform worked like a charm. Then I went to attack Dawnstar, which also went off without a hitch... which is to say, I didn't need to reload or use console commands or anything. I survived for a while, until the only people left were me and two stormcloaks (Lydia was MIA). I was out of healing potions, and fell again. Dawnstar held.I'm currently running Companions quests (just started) while I await a courier with new orders. It remains to be seen if those orders ever come, and to be quite frank these test runs are tedious. I'm not one who enjoys messing with his install all the time; I just want the damned thing to WORK, so I can just forget it and enjoy the game. It's almost enough for me to just install STEP core and put it out of my mind... but CWO is so awesome it demands a test run. That said, I cannot recommend it as part of a general install. If Beth were reading this, I would say that I would pay money for one last expansion pack that implements the stuff from the cutting room floor that had to be cut for time. Apollodown's work shows what could have been, in a universe with infinite money and infinite time. Edited May 31, 2014 by Tarvok 1
DocClox Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Yeah, tell me about it :) I just embarked on the liberation of Windterhold. Got to the RV point to find no troops, just a floating quest arrow. So I trotted on into town to find no defenders either - just more quest markers hovering over empty air. Does anyone else find this mod disproportionately difficult? I ha to turn the game difficulty right down before the siege of Whiterun was anything remotely like fun. I'm finding things a bit more enjoyable now ... but then I've added about 40 levels since Whiterun.
EssArrBee Posted May 31, 2014 Author Posted May 31, 2014 It doesn't scale well on the difficulty. I think the point is that you can now lose a battle. Defending Whiterun was really had at about level 20 on expert was really hard, actually I don't think I beat it. I just lost the battle and then had to go retake Whiterun which was easier than defending it.
Tarvok Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I think it works well that way. Yes, I fell at Whiterun with my current character, but my other character, the one that decided the Dragons were more important (and serves the daedra) just breezed through it. But my current character, having fallen at Dawnstar, now has to spend some time waiting until his next orders come through... during which he'll pick up some levels, some shouts, and some new equipment. As a result, I'm sure he'll do better at his next battle (assuming those orders ever come).
oqhansoloqo Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Any feedback on the current status of this mod? I see that it is now up to version 4.03. I reviewed recent postings on the mod's Nexus forum and it looks like a lot of people constantly posting about bugs and issues. I prefer to get some feedback and info from people here instead though.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with Civil War Overhaul. It really puts a burden on load orders with too many scripts, however. I strongly suspect that most of the people reporting issues have too many scripts that proc on all actors in a scene, which will not play nicely with CWO. Personally, the only bugs I've noticed in the civil war were in my last playthrough without CWO.
DoubleYou Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Typically I would have bugs with the vanilla Civil War Quest (typically I would go to attack a fort, and there would be nobody there to attack, and so constantly at 0%!), but on my current playthrough, I only experienced one CTD (it seemed script related, since I was walking up to report to the general), which was easily fixed by going back to my last save (no issues afterward). I still want to try out this mod.
FuzzRocket9 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 I agree that most people's problems could be having too many scripted mods installed. I also had to uninstall some scripted mods like Convenient Horses(Immersive Horse now), Master of Disguise, Immersive Patrols(it's also acting weird with CWO too), and a little here, a little there to play this massive thing. I just loved the idea of having dynamic quest-lines, you can't go without them.
oqhansoloqo Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Anybody have a list of all the STEP mods that have alternate installation options that add compatibility with this mod - are there any?
