This is weird, but I followed the step mods procedure for installing and activating as an executable, and it actually worked sorta. It crashed right after it finished.

New Engine Log:

So now, animations do not show after the launch and it still crashes right after load. It shows no progress. Does anyone here have any insight that could possibly be of use? I've searched the webs high and low for a similar scenario that I could learn from.
