Immersive Equipment Displays by slavicpotato1
Wiki Link

Display unequipped gear and custom items on the player or NPCs. Works with any item with no additional meshes required. Does not use body slots. SKSE64 plugin. Custom in-game user interface for configuring everything in real-time while you're playing. Includes a flexible positioning system for both equipped and unequipped gear.

I find this mod extrememly immersive. Pulling weapons and items out of thin air always seemed awkward. Seeing the dragonborn actually carying around their equipment and arsenal adds visual flavor and realism.

Optionally can be combined with Simple Dual Sheath for dual wield builds.

Example customization: Remove fishing pole from equip display on NPCs:

It's a much simpler replacer for AllGUD or similar. The first 'out-of-the-box' solution to this problem.

Also, the only requirements are SKSE, Address Library, and the skeleton meshes from XPMSSE which are already included in the guide.

Testing this atm. Works much better than Allgud. No need to run a script. In game menu.

With Simple Dual Sheet (dont forget to turn shield on back on in the mod ini) and the .esp in XPMSSE activated you can get the shield on back if you want.

Hmm...this one seemed to have slipped through the cracks. I remember being able to change some positions in LE. We lost that with the SE Guide and never looked into adding something to accomplish it back into the Guide. This looks like the simplest solution.

Maby even make a STEP preset if needed or look into existing presets like THIS one?

(This mod and maby some DAR idle mods might be good immersion additions within the STEP mandate)

This is pretty cool, but I guarantee it'll be a lot for the baseline user to set up and customize. There are already plenty of complaints about the UI and how it's not intuitive for the average user. I certainly don't think it'll hurt to include it for those that wish to use it, and those that don't can simply ignore it (assuming it keeps vanilla defaults by default).

It seems now that enabling PC shield on back (in 3rd person) only requires the shield to be favorited. There's no need to modify the Simple Dual Sheath INI to get this.

However, if you want NPCs to show the shield on back, the INI must be edited likewise (and it will only show such equipment on NPCs if they are wearing armor):

[ShieldOnBack]
# Add pipe-delimited 'Player' or 'NPC' flags to enable (e.g. FirstPerson|Player|NPC).
#
# The 'FirstPerson' flag enables moving shield between hand and sheath on the first person skeleton. In versions prior to 1.5.5 it was off by default.
#
Flags=FirstPerson|Player|NPC

So I added |Player|NPC to enable for, say, WR guards.

I don't have the time needed to test these presets, but it should open the door to many customization possibilities if anyone does play around with using/creating presets.

This mod works fine OOTB along with Simple Dual Sheath, so I vote to accept. Anyone care to second?

I second a vote to accept. Once you have IED in your load order it is hard to play without. Really makes the game feel more modern.

I'm tagging accepted, since we seem to have consensus from preceding posts. My testing also passed (see my previous post)
