This mod applies the same trick used for allowing the sunlight to shine through another two small areas, as with Labyrinthian Shalidor's Maze Fixes: Giant's Grove, and Castle Volkihar Courtyard. They're both from the same MA.

ESPFE plugin.

Comparison Screenshots:

STEP base (no Weather & Lighting mods) > STEP base + DVLaSS + Shadows of Sunlight

  • Castle Volkihar Courtyard

  • Giant's Grove (Serana decided to appear out of nowhere and follow)

Unfortunately the big statue (in the center, not visible on screenshot, behind the rocks with the giant) doesn't appear to cast shadows. To be confirmed.

Note: this mod also includes the sunlight trick for Shalidor's Maze, so it's partially redundant with 'Labyrinthian Shalidor's Maze Fixes', but not completely, as it doesn't contain the latter's other fixes. Both mods can be used at the same time, load order doesn't matter.

There are conflicts with Atlas Map Markers which always wins, and other mods depending on where LOOT sorts this plugin. The changes are so tiny that they could all be included in the CR patch and this plugin could be omitted entirely. This mod has open permissions with these licensing terms: "If you use any part of this mod in your work, you must release it under Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)" which may be incompatible with STEP terms.

To go to Castle Volkihar Courtyard for testing:

  • Make sure this plugin is loaded after AMM otherwise it won't work
  • Can't fast travel there even with all map locations enabled, using the console (coc DLC1VampireCastleCourtyard) didn't work for me either
  • coc DLC1VampireCastleZCell1 in the console
  • The door to the courtyard is right next (or behind) you

The irony of putting a sundial in a scene and then not adding sunlight. Tsk tsk Bethesda  The sundial is pretty accurate by the way, albeit one hour late in my experience.

Funny anecdote. If you look at this MA's list of mods, including this one, you may notice a pattern in their name. It's a running joke by the MA to name as many mods as possible so that they can be abbreviated by the TLA 'SoS', which is more commonly used to refer to the Schlongs of Skyrim mod (NSFW).

Good way to capitalize on the SEO of SoS and human nature to gravitate towards controversy and sex

Following a clean re-install of Skyrim AE, I've been reinstalling the Step Guide and had intended to include everything. Because of this I have installed the ENB options in all the steps prior to Post Processing. Now I'm not so sure I want to install/run an ENB with this build. Is it safe to jump to Step 05 or do I need to remove and reinstall the mods with the Post Processing (blue) flag? I am getting between 91-115 FPS in Riften with my new 144 Hz monitor.

Hi! I have been trying to mod my Skyrim game for a couple of days now and I have been meticulosly following the STEP Skyrim Special Editio Guidelines and I have finally arrived to step 6.24.2. I already finished sorting the plugins with LOOT and already finished the standar cleaning procedures. Now I have to proceed with the performance benchmark which requires to launch the game for the first time after downloading and installing all the mods. Now here is the problem: When launching Skyrim, it will open, it shows the logo and a little loading animation on the bottom right, and it closes itself after a couple of seconds -No error pop ups or anything. I am pretty new when it comes to modding and I have no idea of what could be causing this problem, and I would love to fix this instead of uninstalling everything and retrying in a couple of months.
      Thank a lot beforehand!

SKSE plugin with customizable JSON configuration.
QOL: Disables collision between player and NPCs so that they don't push the player or block narrow passages.
The description on the Nexus mod page is very short and rather vague:
What this does exactly is disabling collision so the NPCs are no longer solid: they can walk through the player and vice-versa. They'll still get in your face while you're in a conversation, or clump together stuck in passageways. So it's not perfect, but it's much better than vanilla.
The following NPCs and situations are addressed:
Disables collision while the player is in dialogue. Disables collision between the player and their allies. Disables collision between the player and their summons. Disables collision between the player and their allies' summons. Each of the above can be turned on or off via configuration settings (all ON by default).
