So, after following the Clear and Present Danger guide pretty thoroughly, installing everything needed, and making sure all cleaning and tweaks were done the game CTD's after character creation. The exact point is after FWE (or whichever mod) asks if you want the alternate start or not (I choose not) and right when the brightness clears it just CTD's. I've tried most "fixes" I could find on google and none I could find worked. I am just really stumped on what's causing the crash and hoping some here has any ideas.

This almost always comes down to a mod not playing nicely due to invalid options/version OR due to plugin sorting issues. Try disabling Alternate Start and re-sorting with LOOT (if applicable for FO3). Then test. If you don't crash, you know Alt Start isn't plaing nicely with something. Try disabling mods in batches (leaving Alt Start enabled). I would disable the last half of mods and then first half with Alt Start enabled. Note that you should run LOOT each time mod list changes (note all LOOT messages), checking that all plugins are activated beforehand. Whichever half contains the faulty mod, split that list in half, and so on.

If you merged any of the mods in the guide, you might start by disabling all of the merges and the bashed patch after disabling alternate start to see if this solves the issue.

I also see a potential conflict in that the guide contains instructions at the top to clean the DLCs and to clean the deleted navmeshes, but the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch overrides the deleted navmeshes and overrides and disables all deleted objects (or appears to undelete and restore in some cases) so cleaning isn't necessary.

EDIT: I just found confirmation from RoyBatterian that cleaning the DLCs will break the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.

If you cleaned the DLCs (Anchorage.esm, BrokenSteel.esm, PointLookout.esm, ThePitt.esm, Zeta.esm), revert to the uncleaned versions of these files to see if this helps.

Alright, after a lot more trial and error it was Wasteland clothing hires retexture that was causing problems. It was probably me not removing the textures I needed too. Thanks for your guys' help.
