Besides the color blending of the stick with the ground texture in those shots, I prefer current STEP better based on these shots.

The coloring of these is made for use with Cathedral. That's why they color blend so well. I, personally, prefer these after seeing them in-game for a while.

I'll have to give it a try in game. From the screenshots I prefer the look of the 3d ones. The bright colored trunk jumping out currently has always bothered me.

This mod is a good replacer. The foliage and bark actually resemble junipers more than current Step. The berries are a bit large though.

I think 3D Junipers - Trees and Berries is a good fit after looking at the junipers in game for a while.
