Sorry for format. These are shots with and without enb, generally the brighter ones are without. Double apologies for lack of consistency. Not super savvy with this whole process. ... didn't think to do enb on/off for this last one The one thing I see super clearly in every one of z's shots; ice, floes, snow and so on all have very different coloration / value that make each part of them look almost like completely different objects. each part sticks out from the others and makes them noticeable. In my examples with Glorious Glaciers and Majestic Mountains landscape snow / ice, the tiling is way less noticeable and each part of the equation works better with the others, as far as I'm concerned I don't have compares here as I don't have a STEP install, and I'm not sure a vanilla compare would be valuable. * as I said previously, this is with my setup which is not STEP; what's relevant is likely that I'm using Obsidian Weathers. Both shots are without ENB.

lol I am terrible at this! the examples are all of my setup, which is glorious glaciers and majestic mountains landscape textures

Sounded like you guys had decided to stay with the current set-up, and the pictures are not in any way representative of STEP, it's my own thing I've been working on (off and on) for years now, so it seemed irrelevant to fix them... unfortunately I don't have a good place to host screenshots apparently and I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong posting those images... ...I think that did it. One way or another, I find T4G's landscape textures to be the best overall, and they work very well together, with the exception of a dirt road texture (apologies i don't know the name of exact texture) that has a slightly cooler color to it than I'd like, but it's a pretty small compromise. I spent a REALLY long time looking at snow / ice textures and for my tastes, these are the best.

I wonder if you guys have taken a serious look at the landscape textures included with majestic mountains. There's a couple textures in the forest valleys where the coloration isn't quite right (at least for my taste), but overall his are my absolute favorite and I've really spent a lot of time checking out differing landscape texture packs - specifically I find his ice and snow textures, along with Glorious Glaciers are the absolute best for overall, and of course I believe they've been developed specifically with majestic mountains in mind. Sorry I don't have compares, but here's a screenshot from my game; enb active, not STEP https://imgur.com/gallery/9nQCzYa https://imgur.com/gallery/KYP7dCT

[Oblivion] MenuQue and MO2?
baronaatista replied to baronaatista's question in Mod Organizer Support
I did see a post on Nexus about it, just most of the information there appealed highly ambivalent. Submitted an error report on the Discord, I'll post back here if I learn anything. Thanks for taking the time GSD! -
Simon Magus is a great mod author who has sort of followed in the footsteps of EnaiSiaion, making mods very similar to Ordinator, Apocalypse, etc. But Simon's are much more lightweight and closer to the mechanics and implementation of vanilla. At least, that's how he (and users) describe his mods. I can't honestly say much more about them as I've never used them; only discovered recently, and I'm in the middle of a play-through. Mysticism I never understood why so many people seem to feel magic is underpowered in Skyrim. I've played through as many builds of vanilla Skyrim characters as I could possibly think to make, and mages were usually the most over-powered. The very beginning can be a little tricky, yeah; conjuration will help a lot with that, and grab a follower. I have found that most of the time when people say stuff like that; they weren't actually playing a 'straight' mage. They don't trust the magic system or something, so they wind up wearing armor, and using swords or bows or whatever. If you're going to play a pure mage, you want to be wearing clothing; ie the outfit they give you in the very beginning of the game that is perfect for a mage character. You want to take perks in whatever school of magic you want to build your mage around (alteration mage armor perks are essentially a necessity) and you don't want to use other skills too much. One thing to remember always in Skyrim; anytime you are using skills that are not your main combat skills, or directly supporting those skills, you are by proxy making yourself weaker. You level up, the world levels up with you, and you have not increased your ability to deal with the challenges of the world.

[Oblivion] MenuQue and MO2?
baronaatista replied to baronaatista's question in Mod Organizer Support
Using the 'latest loader' from the OBSE site didn't change anything. MO2 still gives me that error, and the MenuQue log still appears fine... from what I can tell. -
Dread's Skyrim Build (a STEP build)
baronaatista replied to dreadflopp's topic in Unofficial Skyrim SE Guides
I've been playing with Honed Metal for quite some time now and haven't had any issues that I'm aware of... Really love it. I can still have custom enchanted gear if I don't want to play an enchanter, or quality armor without being a smith. Make sure to grab 'Honed Metal Voiced' as well, adds little audio files for the various interactions that make the whole thing feel a lot more like part of the base game. -
[Oblivion] MenuQue and MO2?
baronaatista replied to baronaatista's question in Mod Organizer Support
Yeah, MO2 is not in the games directory and not controlled by UAC Box is definitely checked ... Didn't replace the .exe from 'latest loader' package on the OBSE site. I have now... it was my understanding that loader wasn't used anymore unless dealing with CS? -
[Oblivion] MenuQue and MO2?
baronaatista replied to baronaatista's question in Mod Organizer Support
Yessir. It was your post about that the other day that turned me onto the fact that there is proper support now for Oblivion... -
MO2 is giving me this error; You have one or more script extender plugins which failed to load! If you want this notification to go away, here are some steps you can take: • Look for updates to the mod or the specific plugin included in the mod. • Disable the mod containing the plugin. • Hide or delete the plugin from the mod. To refresh the script extender logs, you will need to run the game and/or editor again! The failed plugins are: • OBSE_Kyoma_MenuQue_OLD version 0 (OBSE_Kyoma_MenuQue.dll, MenuQue - OBSE Plugin) reported as incompatible during query. I installed the most recent version I could see available, v16b. Not sure what gives. I'm certain OBSE is installed correctly and working, and my MenuQue log seems to indicate everything is groovy? (a million thank-you's to the MO2 developers. Wouldn't be considering modding Oblivion without that force-load workaround)

ACCEPTED 8K Night Skies - Stars and Galaxies (by JonnyWang)
baronaatista replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
Honestly I think Rudy's night sky is likely very similar to what's happening with JonnyWang's, I just like his star field texture a little better. I do have reasons though to be using that instead; namely that I'm using both Rudy ENB + ENBLight. Had major concerns that ENBLight would destroy my FPS but it hasn't seemed to affect it at all (outside of candles... nordic ruins and lots of candles around does start to drain FPS... but I live with it cause it's so awesome everywhere else), and really does some amazing things with lighting in the game. Anyway. Slightly off-topic.- 4 replies

ACCEPTED 8K Night Skies - Stars and Galaxies (by JonnyWang)
baronaatista replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
This is quite a beautiful night sky texture but it does not work well with 'Animated Stars' feature from ENB, at least not as it's tuned with Rudy ENB out of the box. Rudy offers star and galaxy textures in the 'addons' folder of his ENB preset that are comparable and work great with the animated stars feature, which is really damn cool IMO. ...If we're getting really serious about our night skies I highly recommend Rudy's stars with galaxies from Gamwich's Ethereal Cosmos, lol!- 4 replies

Dread's Skyrim Build (a STEP build)
baronaatista replied to dreadflopp's topic in Unofficial Skyrim SE Guides
Hey Dread... just wondering; I've had 'Go On Ahead' in my LO for years now, remember actually using the feature in-game back in the day and it working? Just recently told a follower to wait for me somewhere, and he completely bugged out... started running away, as if to go to the destination, but would teleport back in front of me after a period and begin to run away again. That was with... Among-The-Hist from 3DNPC, and I was in a cave at the time. Tried with a vanilla follower in the Skyrim worldspace and got the same results. Have you used that feature recently? I'm wondering if there's an issue with NFF? ***I'm seeing a post on the Go On Ahead Nexus page where a user is saying they had to turn of 'catch up teleport' in NFF or they would get the behaviour I'm describing. I swear I don't have it on in my game...*** -
Dread's Skyrim Build (a STEP build)
baronaatista replied to dreadflopp's topic in Unofficial Skyrim SE Guides
Oh hey one note on Falskaar; As far as I can tell, tree LOD is non-existent for Falskaar SE. I could be wrong, but last build I did when I was testing... no matter whether I used DynDOLOD or not, had LOD Billboards installed or not... No tree LOD whatsoever in Falskaar. It feels like that's the type of thing that would be pointed out and known, so I'm open to the possibility that I'm just too stupid to understand what I screwed up... -
Dread's Skyrim Build (a STEP build)
baronaatista replied to dreadflopp's topic in Unofficial Skyrim SE Guides
I can see the wisdom of a lot of things you're doing here, and I have to be honest the Simon Magus mods look like an interesting, possibly lighter-weight version of EnaiRim. If I weren't just finishing up my most recent build and having spent many hours researching and patching everything, I would definitely be using your guide whole cloth, and look forward to checking it out maybe when I finish a play-through or two with my set up. Thanks for all the work you've put into guides and patches over the years! It was interacting with you and your guides that helped me learn to manage my own builds and introduced a ton of great mods to me. Hope all is well with you and yours in these strange times. -

...Oh and I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain? We still need to download the 'dawn guard meshes for vampire NPCs' file for 3DNPC? -
Dread's Skyrim Build (a STEP build)
baronaatista replied to dreadflopp's topic in Unofficial Skyrim SE Guides
Looks great Dread! Unfortunately I'm just about finishing my own recent build so I can't install / test this at all, but I do love to use guides for wisdom on what to do in certain areas. Just finished looking through your guide and noticed a couple things; You have 'Smooth Running Animations' listed twice in the Audiovisual section, with no particular notes associated. I'm assuming this is an oversight. No ICAIO or AI Overhaul, looks like you're basically going with 'Tavern AI Fix' instead? Would love to hear your thoughts? I do love ICAIO, and am loathe to get rid of it... looked into AI Overhaul, but it requires patching with many mods, and with town overhauls... the patching is not easy. Easier than ICAIO (navmeshes), but still not easy. I don't want to drop ICAIO but I think it would likely ensure a more stable and consistent experience with all the rest of my mods, as I shall not be patching any navmeshes............................... I'm definitely asking you to tell me I should just drop it, lol. Also no Wet and Cold! Get Snowy instead. Blasphemous! I'm assuming that's a script-load issue? My game is consistently at least a little laggy with scripts, with every setup I've done... And then I think my final question is how do you find the ease and results from automatically generating armor meshes with Bodyslide? I like the Frankly HD armor retextures but can't use most of them cause I use UNP and the 'UNP Body Fit Armors and Clothing' mod. Always assumed generating armor / clothing meshes with Bodyslide was a more involved process. Oooooh and just remembering; no Morrowloot, or your Loot mod! Double blasphemy! Just over patching leveled lists and worrying about maintaining strict distribution rules? Or not seeing the purpose anymore? -
Dread's STEP SE Core addon
baronaatista replied to dreadflopp's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Dread! Great to see you back with an SSE modlist/guide. Just had a look over it; wondering if you have played SSE using Immersive Patrols much? I wound up removing it as I found I was getting consistent crashes anytime I was around any of the big battle locations. NPCs Travel is a bit of a lighter version that I'm considering right now, though I haven't played with it a ton yet. Immersive World Encounters is another mod that can make traveling about the world feel more lively, and I've enjoyed the bit of it I've played with so far, though again haven't really tested it thoroughly. -
Dragon Priest Mask Overhaul SSE (by poetie45)
baronaatista replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
This is for STEP 3.0? Not sure if all mods included in the new STEP must be on Mod Picker, but I find Dragon Masks Retextured is a better option. -
Hey guys, been a long while... trying to set up my own large install that's built off of the guide, but is too different from to use CR patches and so on... Anyway I have a question that has nothing to do with that, asking here just to try to gain some wisdom from the community; My Falskaar has absolutely no tree LOD. I'm certain the files are there, but in-game they don't exist, they just pop-in from nowhere as they are loaded. I've downloaded and re-downloaded the file, I've unpacked it in MO2, removed all tree mods (I was only using Simply Bigger Trees + RAT)... still no tree LODs. I've seen a couple comments on reddit from a quick google search saying the same thing but none of them came to any resolution. 'Run DynDOLOD or SSE LODGen' was the advice given but I don't see how running DynDOLOD is going to fix anything if the LOD's don't exist at all / are not working in game at all?

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
baronaatista replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Hey guys, rebuilding New Vegas again and looking for some advice; WMIM looks extremely tempting. I am loathe to get rid of EVE primarily, and to a lesser extent WAR / WotNM / WMX. Do I have any options here or is it pretty much either / or? Probably going with Mojave Arsenal over CaliberX. Interested in Asurah's animation pack and will likely be using Solid Project, as I still have a download from when it was available. I'm assuming Asurah's animations will also conflict with WMIM... I don't mind the idea of just letting go of WMX + WotNM... WMX is a nice addition to the game but if it basically comes at the cost of a million bugfixes from WMIM - I mean, the base game has a decent weapon modding system, and honestly that was never a huge feature for me. WotNM is a little tougher, I would prefer to keep it for the most part but if I understand correctly it requires WAR for the ironsights? Was also considering using Mono's WotNM rebalance plugin, but I'm not sure how dependent that is on things like WMX / EVE I guess basically it's the conflict between animations and WMIM that I'm primarily concerned about and wondering if there are any options for. Enhanced Camera + Solid Project really do by themselves enhance the overall experience of playing New Vegas, and Immersive recoil / Diagonal Movement / B42 Weapon Inertia (not 1million percent they all work together, this is the plan I'm pontificating) go even further...
