Seems a bit contradictory to me. It seems that you joined this thread more to cause unfounded speculation in a tool and approach that so many have been drawn and attracted to. I did not create it (or ENBoost). They are not my children or my family. I have no investment in them ... I am only presenting the facts. And one important fact that you are refusing to face head on is that you are running with a non-standard mod setup that nobody else can verify. Your save games can even be an issue. Why not end this with a simple approach to testing and ruling out likely issues? Perhaps you think the game is so bad because you have a persistent flaw in your mod setup? How else can you determine this but by taking the advice of others that have more XP? At worst, you find a flaw in your approach, and at best you get some useful testing done. Also, I and others have submitted testing data and facts that are not speculation ... they just are. I DO speculate here and now --based on those facts-- that these memory tools are the new Jesus Christ of Skyrim come to save us all ... how's that for speculation? Now, let the testing/comments/support continue with no hard feelings or ill will :P

DROPPED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim - Patches (by michaelrw)
z929669 replied to Spock's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Indeed it is. Everything found in a loaf of bread can be found in a glass or two of beer (with benefits). I am ingesting mine as I type. -
MG, you are asking for help, multiple times, yet you refuse to accept that your mod setup is likely the issue. It is polite to at least attempt the advice being put forth to help you, as I think it is wasting others' time to continue to skirt the issue of taking that advice, which is really what is rude (not to mention your insinuations and your language). Signing off.

Any comments on the AOS patches? Will the STEP Patches obviate? See the thread and comment there if you please ;)

DROPPED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim - Patches (by michaelrw)
z929669 replied to Spock's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Good, that was my thinking. For STEP, we wil also want to consider some of the other AOS patches ... or EssArrBee can reconcile in the STEP Patches to obviate the need for AOS-Patches entirely. -
There is a ReadMe with the file in the OP ... I assume that you did not bother looking at it :\ There is a readme in the download people (?) No, it did not. I am using that version just downloaded. Mothergoose's problem is almost certainly MOD RELATED ... for the 4th or 5th time: Do you get CTDs under VANILLADo you get CTDs under STEP:CoreDo you get CTDs under SR:LE(Anyone noticing a pattern here?) I don't think that any further info regarding MGs savegames or his mod setup are relevant, because there is almost certainly and issue in one or both of them (IMO). Reason dictates that the mempatches be tested without the highly questionable mod setup and savegames being used (comments about Falskaar and Skyfalls/mills indicate to me that there is no standard here). Also: Use the version in the OP, as that is verified as functional. I got the one from the SR:LE and went on a speed run with mult 300. I crashed outside of solitude, in a spot I would often crash when I tested this way. EDIT: I managed to get "Skyrim Memory Patch 3.0 by Sheson Active. MemBlock1 = 512MB, MemBlock2 = 256MB." in my skse_steam_loader located in documents/mygame/skyrim/skse. You need this in your skse.ini [Memory] Enable=1 MemBlock1=512 MemBlock2=256 Neovalens version is different from sheson's. ... because it has noting at all to do with the version of the dll found in ithe OP or on Neo's page ... they are identical (check the CRCs if you must). Please install another mod setup under a new profile under MO and using a different save game that has no relation to the mod setup that keeps crashing for you.

You meant he changelog? Yes, that needs to be added. We did not have any specific show tex in STEP. It was covered by SRO Changelogs are plain pages with templates included. I don't want to accept any of the other texture packs unless we have a definitive solution ... that will be more your call than anyone else's since you have seem most of that in game and know the STEP Mandate.

I have updated the 2.2.8 mod list with the new additions from Mod Testing. I need some assistance in recommending the best options for Audio Overhaul/Patches. I think that we should use the "Complete" version and several of the patches, but I want others to verify the mod notes on the wiki. I also need someone to double check the mod list on the 2.2.8 guide and also that the 2.2.8 changelog is reflected in the 2.2.8 guide. Also, there are several changes in the 2.2.7 changelog that need to be verified in the 2.2.8 guide (thing added/removed to/from Core). Still need to do a lot though, and I am not sure what else needs to be added to the mod list at this point (if anything). @EssArrBee You are now authorized to make changes to the Guide, the mod list (via STEP:Main), etc, along with WilliamImm, Tech and Kelmych. Some of this takes a bit of training, since things can be broken, but if you can figure it all out, go for it. Otherwise, just make notes in the admin release thread. The update Proc thread details all of what needs to be done for a STEP release. I have begun and nearly completed the first few steps, but no single step can be completed until we lock down changes. Id' Like some inpur as to whether or now we should add any more mods to 2.2.8 before locking down (I am guessing that we may want to sort out some of the landscape textures and DB stuff that SRB has been working on lately).

DROPPED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim - Patches (by michaelrw)
z929669 replied to Spock's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
We'd like opinions as to what patches should be used and which version of the mod ... there is one with merged plugin for AOS and an alternative patch for AOS. Merged plugin seems best, since it saves a plugin slot; however, we want to know the potential drawbacks. -
As did I :)I was hoping he would be willing to include Kryptopyr's fixes into Hard Times, but he hasn't responded to that idea yet. If I remember right he wanted to have a little pause after doing Interesting NPCs. Actually, azirok responded in the affirmative on the CCO thread and is currently working on some of those patches

ACCEPTED Enhanced Blood Textures (by dDefinder)
z929669 replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It is very likely that the crashes blamed on mod scripting events are largely moot with the mempatch solutions of ENBoost + sheson's Mempatch '3.0'. -
Please confirm that this is reproduceable and needs to be fixed. Basically, once I launch an app from MO, I am locked out of MO without the ability to 'unlock', so this functionality has been broken (in my case anyway). I installed the beta directly over the last version using the installer.

I am not at all surprised. I am also angered at Russia's (and Ukraine gov't's) behaviors (see Syria) ... but it is predictable and typical. Ukraine people need to revolt and bleed for their freedom, and if they win, it will still not last, because even democratic societies are devils in disguise, and rotten apples from the ranks of the populace or the assisting factions will have the most ambition to rise up and rebuild the whole mess all over again under a different banner. Russia is a piggish brute, but the US is an aristocratic pig itself. And most other governments of the world are no better and equally corrupt as the worlds superpowers. They care only about money and power. Their people are nothing more than a vehicle to that end. Maybe only 10% of humanity is truly human (less?). The rest of humanity are pigs waiting to take the place of the ones that ought to be ousted. That which drives one to take up the mantle of leadership and power is that which disqualifies one as human enough to be allowed to do so. It is a stupid game that we must all play and deal with ... unfortunately for those of us who are truly human.

I am playing my own personal STEP:Requiem playthrough from scratch. Now at level 8, and I have been testing under Mempatch 3.0 since level 3, so lots of quests and mechanics being tested. I am also using timescale=12, and my game has lots of scripts and highly controversial INI settings (that are likely controversial because they are not possible without the mempatches). It does not make any sense that this would cause me any main quest issues down the road and not give me some kind of indication by now of such problems. No dragons yet, as I am using timing is Everything and that kind of thing is delayed somewhat (default is level 12 I think, so I set to level 15 for Requiem). I have tested this stuff all under another profile where I can fast travel all over the place. In that profile (STEP), I am level 40, and I fought two dragons under the mempatches ... probably 2 hours of normal gameplay at high uGrids. No glitches other than vastly increased loading/launch times. SPM output is always quite consistent, and I can see where locations correlate with peaks and troughs in memory and CPU/GPU. Really, not a single glitch in 15+ hours of gameplay under conditions that were not even remotely possible just a couple of weeks ago. I will say that my game stability is largely due to my vigilant mod management, including patches, texture opt, avoidance of problematic mods, plugin management, Bashed Patch, etc. The point is that the mempatches only enhance my capacities, and they have not introduced any detectable errors whatsoever. No noticeable effect on savegames, scripted events, travel, autosave, physics ... nothing. the only difference with/without is my capacity to run the game smoothly and under ridiculous config settings and increased load times (but caching is still efficient so that load times are not increased on cell exit/reentry).

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
z929669 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Well, pardon my sticking nose where it doesn't belong, but you could already make sure help posts are moved (with strikes if multiple times offenders arrive) to the support forum*. Just my $.5. You could make also one-post sticky thread for pure announcements and so on. ssl, out * I could help ;) The general forum staff have not really been messing with the SR subs too much. Neovalen et all control it more; However, when we move, we'll house it in a format such that se can assume better control over OT posting and topical categorization. (if that is what you are suggesting). -
I had a similar experience, but subsequently found that this was more likely an issue with my environment and running my tests back-to-back without clean initializations ... still not sure, but definitely, it was my own environment. I know this because I was able to run other, higher combinations the following day after at least one reboot. Regerdless, there definitely are limits to how much memory can be allocated to each block, and these limits will depend on user environment. My fairly rigorous testing and high uGrids (up to 17) and hours of gameplay at uGrids=11 have revealed that there is no need to allocate anything more than 512/256 (the default) to the memBlocks (in fact, 420/200 is plenty for me at uGrids=11, maxed-out Skyrim INIs and nearly 150 plugins, and I have hours of gameplay without a single CTD).
-
The version of the dll on the OP is not the issue. It is essentially the same thing as sheson's and works for everyone else so far. Crashing entering Whiterun is almost certainly a mod issue. Are you running Troublemakers clothing? Lots of other mods could do this too. I repeat my questions above: Do you get CTDs under pure vanilla? Do you get CTDs under pure STEP:Core? Do you get CTDs under pure SR:LE? You really need to sort out your mod issues, I think.
-
I use a 360 controller too, but I also like to use the keyboard sometimes in game. Get Control Switcher to get the best of both worlds. I often need to use the mouse for aiming with a bow or for sorting by VW in the SkyUI inventory. It uses hot keys to invoke the controllers that you want in game. It does have an annoying midi musical startup that you have to quickly kill though. If someone could edit that out in VStudio or something, I would be very grateful!

Confirmed BOSS bugs. NEW BUG: I cannot "Unlock" MO when launching an app in order to launch other apps from MO. This has definitely been touched, as there is a cosmetic difference, and I was able to do this without issue before updating to the beta.
-
Not "Gospel", but I am joining the church officially. Are you using MO for easy profile switching and mod management? Do you get CTDs under pure vanilla?Do you get CTDs under pure STEP:Core?Do you get CTDs under pure SR:LE?

ACCEPTED Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM (by Brumbek)
z929669 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Hi there, I don't mind. Although most of my .esp changes require some of my SMIM meshes/textures too. So I'm not sure exactly what fixes you have in mind. Me neither, but I assume that the guy doing our patches does :P Thanks, I'll pass it on. There is your answer ;) -
