  1. So we dont' need the midianborn compatibility patch unless we're using the plugin from book of silence that allows for different ebony sets to be crafted, right? It is something like that. kryptopyr's WAF description provides some important hints I think. If she drops by here, she can probably school us all
  2. I think you may be right. I've messed with that mod and page so much lately I've forgotten what is actually supposed to be installed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It would be good to nail down what specifically to install, since this plays closely with WAF, and none of the plugins are actually needed from this mod. I vote to include all: Full SetDGDBno clothtighter eyeholesaMB ebony compat is for special aMB version, right?

Me too ... and it can always be ignored ... and the forum team page is the key to the colors ... and it doesn't matter that much, since you will only ever belong to one of them.
  4. /Fixed. It was Weapons and Armor Fixes. This varies from whether you use the built-in fomod installer and the NCC installer. NCC will merely have the options, whereas the other one, which you used (not a problem), adds a none option (which I like). Maybe we should switch to a format akin to Neovalen's, where he simply names the options to use. Yes, this is best for us ... however, some factions will always be confused with out an explicit instruction for every variation. That is not an option for us though, and I also don't think that supporting the resolution of such minor confusions is something we need to worry about. People need to do a bit of second-grade problem-solving on their own :/ (not you Wolverine! Those instructions were admittedly a bit unclear until I just changed them)
  5. For many sections, there is simply an the option to install or not 'none'. The instructions say to install 'all' options and to select a specified option where there is 'more than one option' (i.e., 'none' and at least two options). This allows us not to have to specify each and every explicit option where there is no other option besides 'null'. I think it is pretty intuitive, since you will notice that we do not indicate anything for 'Weapons' at all, since the installer has an 'install all' option right up front. Perhaps we could make the wording a bit clear around 'all' and "where there is more than one option"
  6. It can' date=' but it costs an extra 3-4 FPS in my testing. Same exact effect with a slight FPS cost (on my system though) ... it would be good to have confirmation of this cost on other systems.[/quote'] Why not use the ingame setting? Got me there. No good reason other than simplification really. simpler to stick with one area of config. It might be worth testing if there is a performance diff though. I've used BCF files for three reasons: to support users with Wrye Bash as a mod manager (of course, meanwhile STEP is moving toward MO since it has several unique useful features for STEP installs)to selectively keep individual files from being installed from a mod archive (unlike WB, MO can do this with manual mod installs; is there a more automated way that MO can do this?)to create a single mod installation files that combine multiple archive files associated with a single mod; e.g., combining the Elemental Staffs mod and its update, or the Skill Interface Retexture and its Dawnguard addon. (I haven't seen any simple automated way to do this other than BCF files. I think we should use BCFs for this more often unless there is an alternate way to do this; I haven't seen anyone do this with Fomods. IMO it's probably the most useful capability of BCFs for use with STEP.)I am finding MO more and more convenient. For example, I used to download all pieces of a mod (from same Nexus site) and combine them into a BAIN just as you describe. I repackaged everything for WB, just because I am controlling like that. A good example is the AOS Patches. I am using about 10 of those in my Requiem build (we use a few for STEP too). Previously, I would repackage the entire thing into one BAIN and rename that as "L_AOS_BAIN-v1.51.#####", but now I simply download each one and rename the packages directly ("L_AOSP whaterver it is already named"). Then I right click the package, query the info, and install (starting with the main package). Each subsequent option, I do the same, and I have the choice to 'replace' or 'merge', so I do the latter. This produces nice neat directory 'packages' which are applied at launch. I save a ton of time this way. This along with the ability to 'hide' files in the file tree (rather than omit them from the repacked packages) saves me a ton of time without reorg or loss of information.
  7. OK, I have only about 2 minutes XP with this, but it looks promising (I installed all of the recommended tweaks as well). I figured out how to eliminate the letterbox, but how do I get the DoF to work (Matso's fast DoF if possible)? EDIT: Duh, it looks like my question was answered just a couple posts above! :P
  8. It can, but it costs an extra 3-4 FPS in my testing. Same exact effect with a slight FPS cost (on my system though) ... it would be good to have confirmation of this cost on other systems.
  9. Thanks for the offer ... I may just hit you up on some advice as I progress. Anyway, I found my issue. I had ... iMultiSample=4... set in skyrimprefs.ini. This in conjunction with ... UseOriginalObjectsProcessing=false... set in enbseries.ini was causing the glitching. Setting the former to '0' or '1' OR setting the latter to 'true' resolves. I assume that ONLY turning off AA in skyrimprefs.ini is the ideal solution. Perhaps this means something to you or others and it can be put to good use. It makes little sense to me, but I can verify that this is tested and confirmed from my side. Now I have a lot of work to do with regard to setting my enbseries.ini to my liking (but first, I will test yours out of the box ;) ) ... I'd like to get fx files that make full use of the latest additions to enbseries.ini, and I assume yours is one of the more evolved versions. I really always liked SkyRealism as a launching point in the past, but that seems quite outdated now.
  10. Nope, still the same trouble. I am testing out ENBseries 250 next on my vanilla skyrim setup. Will report back.
  11. Just in case any non-English-speaking-as-a-native-tongue want to know .... generally, a few of the many options might be: 'joints', 'seams', 'crevices', 'boundaries', 'interstices' ... probably many more :P Anyway, this mod definitely is a contender in many regards (I hate the idea of mixing/matching the best of everything though, since tiny details and styles differ ... but TPC does it I suppose)
  12. Hmmm ... those look a bit painted. Perhaps it is because they are attempting to show wear on the angles ... crystals (i.e. gems) don't behave this way. They should keep the same sheen across all surfaces and refract light according to the facets. These are more like "soul stones" IMO :P
  13. I do prefer Ren's. Need to look at vanilla compares though to see the deviation.
  14. SGD offers many other options though. you can attribute a great many texture and mesh combinations to achieve almost any result. I don't think that you have the STEP options implemented correctly for that one though. Check out the mod page on the wiki. This has several good combinations that I put together myself. I may even have the savegame I used. I actually maintain that mod now, so we can create some ideal combinations and upload a simpler (and more relevant) version.
  15. FPS limiting helps microstutter, but vsync cures it. The key is triple buffering to reduce the FPS hit caused by frame rates OK, back on topic :P
  16. Yep! That is probably the reason  I just needed a kick in the head :P Will implement this evening and see if that fixes (will post back either way).
  17. Did you try enabling vsync via enblocal.ini (see instructions for that). As I have said: I think that D3D triple buffering may be inherent to enb vsync.
  18. ... Relighting Skyrim ...
  19. Doesn't MO have BCF support in terms of plugin? No I think it uses FOMOD, right? BCF is WB only. MO has BAIN support but it's horribly implemented compared to FOMOD support. Think of FOMODs as WB's wizards for MO. EDIT: Unless the BCF is something new since I've been out of commission. I really wish someone would write a functional plugin to interpret BCFs and another to execute BAIN wizard scripts .... Everyone capable of this work has never returned from the holiday break :/
  20. SOLUTION Colors, poygons, flickering in/out. Major graphics glitching. I tried Aiyens Skylight ENB and SkyRealism ... both under v246 of enbseries. Using AMD single card (7970), and I get very bad glitching of the graphics with enbseries enabled. This must be something to do with a setting that is not playing nicely with AMD under the latest ENB. Any ideas what I should tweak to at least find the source?
  21. I would say so, but I have nil XP with this one :/ Actually, This is probably a compat issue for DSR. If this is only use with DSR, then I would follow Neo's instructions (no anim, since DSR probably conflicts) I'd like Neo's confirmation though based on our mod list ... another reason for us to really get Extended figured out ... I just don't like its current condition.
  22. Latest release release (1.1.1 stable) resolves the 'unlock' bug I reported.
