I think Get Snowy has a similar script or function to look for NPCs to apply the decals. But because its only decals and not breath & snow shoes and cloaks and hoods, I think it will be better. But I would probably put it in last, when you are happy with the rest of your load order. My system is i5 2500k, HD6950 2gb vram, 16gb ram, ssd. I know about the formula given by Boris: vram+ ram - 2048. However I simply cannot logically see how applying 14 or 16gb to ENBoost would be of any benefit. Currently I use which is equal to my card's vram. What setting do you use with your titan? (and if others are reading this I'm very much interested in yours as well). I have a 6Gb Titan & 32Gb of RAM as well and I have mine set on 8196 and have forgotten about it. With 2Gb of VRAM and lots of RAM, I would also try 4096 if I were you or maybe 6144.

If I understand this correctly: - Without Wet & Cold but with Inconsequential NPCs --> ETaC will crash the game - Without Wet & Cold AND without Inconsequential NPC --> ETaC will NOT crash the game - With Footprints enabled --> ETaC will crash the game Would you happen to know how well Immersive Patrols runs with ETaC? Do the pathways of the patrols/battles/travellers etc. cross or conflict with the buildings added by ETaC? Your points:1) No, Without W&C but with just INPCs, ETaC seems fine (tested for Iverstead, Kynesgrove, Riverwood, DAwnstar & Morthal at least)Â 2) Yes, but you can use INPC if you want. 3) Yes, insert Footprints where I have use "Wet and Cold" everywhere. I suspect that its not the Wet & Cold script that causes the crash, but the sudden graphical appearance of all those high-res cloaks. Â Because in Sunny weather the game doesn't crash. Â W&C must still search for NPCs but in Sunny weather, no cloaks/hoods are applied. Â I suspect if you lower the resolution of the cloaks & hoods & whatever else rain gear, the game may become stable again. Â But low resolution fur cloaks are **** ugly. Â Thats my theory anyway, I have not tested this out yet. Oh... and I have destructible bottles running all along. those papyrus script errors don't cause CTDs in my experience. But its definitely something you live without though! Good call. Oh... my example for Windhelm applies to many other mods not just ETaC, for instance: Dawn of Whiterun, adds NPCs, with it installed, I sometimes get infinite loads, but without W&C problem is gone. Same with Better Docks. The reason why spawning programs like Immersive Creatures can cause problem is not because the spawning itself, its because of the appearance of many more textures all of a sudden, that over loads the graphical engine, as well as the scripting engine all a the same time with the increase in AI numbers. So try lowering the texture quality of the creatures to pretty darn low and you'll find more stability. I use ASIS and limited my extra spawns to 0 to 3 max. At these levels I've had no problems. If I did, I would go look for ways to downgrade the textures that spawn and that should help solve that problem. So... it often comes down to textures sizes and the sudden appearance of the textures in-game. NOTE: my RAM/VRAM has never come near 3Gb with ENBoost, so that is NOT the issue everyone thinks it is. For some reason unbeknowst to me, the sudden appearance of lots of new NPCs/object is a major reason for freezes (with sounds).

Well, I have been testing ETaC with Better Docks and the patch for Better fast travel and I've had no problems, so far. Â ETaC reinvigorates many of the towns, I like it. Â I've tried immersive settlements, but I've found it a little unfinished for my liking, so I will wait till its more more complete before trying again. As for Inconsequential NPCs, and even 3DNPC, I have found they don't conflict with much, BUT the added NPCs (and this applies to any spawning mods) play havok with Wet & Cold and Footprints. Â YOu will get a script overload 100% of the time. Try this: Â turn on Wet and cold, install Inconsequential NPCs, use Alternative Start and spawn at the Windhelm docks, it will super stutter and then freeze every single time. Â This is because it is almost always snowing at the Windhelm Docks, especially with COT + Supreme Storms, as you spawn at the docks, Wet and Cold's script looks for NPCs and there are alot of NPCs at the docks and as it puts cloaks on the NPCs, the game freezes. Â BUT, if you uninstall Inconsequential NPCs, it decreases the number of dock workers and the game MAY load if it feels like it. Â BUT the moment you enter Windhelm proper, there are simply too many vanilla NPCs and the game freezes anyway. Â (I know some of you will say you have no problems with this combo, but this test is relative to the rest of your load order as well.) When you uninstall Wet & Cold these freezes go away, even with Inconsequential NPCs and or 3DNPCs installed. Without Wet & Cold, ETaC (or even immersive settlements) will no longer crash, as ETaC and IS both include new NPCs and if you have Inconsequential NPCs too running, the game will freeze after loading for the same reasons as Windhelm above. Same thing happens with Footprints. Â I will be testing dynamic things later, it won't freeze because of NPCs but it does contain a running script that searches for static containers. Â BUT, the mod is configurable, so it searches less often and only objects that are closer to you. Â So it may be stable... Â I like this mod... but once again, not worth crashes. So as long as you don't have Wet and Cold running I have had no issues with Better Docks, 3DNPCs, Inconsequential NPCs and ETaC. Try it. It's magic.

One more thing... I almost forgot, if you get crashes/freezes going to Windhelm and some other cities/towns/villages where you get freezes after coc/fast travel/cell transitions, especially if it's snowing then uninstall wet & cold (which is super script heavy) and if necessary inconsequential NPCs, that fixes that for me. I am not sure if anyone else has this issue. But I do remember it took me a SOLID 2 hours of time wasted to work out that this was what was causing the issue!!!! (once you have uninstalled wet and cold, you'll find that you have a lot more head room for scripted mods.)
-
Please also ignore these mods: I was just testing these just now and can't confirm their stability with my load-order: Expanded Towns and Cities Villages & its patches for BFT.

Yes, I use an ENB, the one I am using and sticking to is Ruvaak Dahmaan ENB Redone, its a performance ENB and looks great, just search "Ruvaak Dahmaan" on you tube and you will see his video, its freaky. Â And by definition I am using the ENBoost functions. Â I am using ENB version 2.09 (the most stable for me) with these settings: ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true DisableDriverMemoryManager=true DisablePreloadToVRAM=false EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false ReservedMemorySizeMb=256 VideoMemorySizeMb=6144 Don't get caught up about this ram/vram stuff, I recommend you use ENBoost/ENBs, it will help with stability regardless of how much RAM/VRAM you use. Â Remember: Â Your game crashes because of the mods you installed, both graphics mods & scripted AND non-scripted mods. Â I've had issues with non-scripted mods too. I will be happy to post my load-order, I am not sure the best way to do this, I just copied my BOSS read out: https://pastebin.com/dWv0vsH5 (ignore the enb_reference.esp error, I usually have that deactivated as I use COT + Supreme Storms) Add to this most of the mesh/texture replacements from SR:LE all optimized and lowered res as I recommended in my previous post. This load-order is a lot of fun and adds a lot of functionality and changes to the game. Â Highly recommended. (Change your carrying weight to 200 to make it a little more realistic and away you go!) Feel free to ask any questions, I am happy to help.

STEP Program plus other mods
Garfink replied to ssconvert's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Duel is fine, V5 is nearer the vanilla style, V7 hardcore is really game changing. Â Try first. Â I am using V5. Might Magic is fine. Â Have used it for a long time with STEP, I love forgotten magic and apocalyse too, I don't like phendrix because I hate its telekinetic spells with no animations. Most of ERSO is fine, just pick and choose what you want. Let me recommend Skyrim Unleashed instead. Very fine tuned. Don't use UFO, I am AFT user myself, EF is fine too, I just found AFT does more. Realistic Needs works fine, so does Imp's more complex needs, the latter is nice because different food will have different effects, but it does make food more prominent in your game, if you don't like that then Realistic Needs is fine too. I swap between the two. Cloaks of Skyrim and Winter is coming has been in my load order forever and are great. I don't mind the clipping so much, as I play in first player most of the time. Immersive armor and weapon are fine too. Â I agree that IW has some shitty weapons, a few silly axes if I remember correctly, but most of it is fine and the bad weapons appear very very infrequently in all the games I've played that its barely noticeable, but the absence of the mod is certainly noticeable. Â So its a keeper for me. {cut from my own post from elsewhere} I am a Skyrim Unleashed, Duel, Forgotten Magic, Apocalyse, Mighty Magick, Skyre (just perks & races, no need for reproccer as I am using the weapon values from Skyrim Unleashed, which only supports immersive armor & weapons), Alternate Start: Live another life, Classic Classes or Race Overhaul, Convenient Horses, Frostfall, Realistic Needs, Wet & Cold (but not the footprint mod), 3DNPC, Inconsequential NPCs, Weapon degrade, ASIS, Falskaar & Wyrmtooth user with a very cut down version of S.T.E.P./S.R/S.R. Legendary. Let me recommend Weapon & Armor degrade, it works amazingly well, customizeable and a hidden gem. Adds a tried and true and well loved RPG mechanic to Skyrim and integrates it so well. I've had no issues with it whatsoever. (Just remember to put it last in your load order manually, don't trust BOSS and activate the ring prior to making any changes to the MCM menu and it should work fine.) An amazing piece of programming. Can't imagine playing without ASIS, I like the surprise it gives me with its increase spawns, I tone down the numbers a little so I only usually get 0-3 extra spawns max and by deactivating the potions/perks/spell/AI (Duel has its own AI so you don't need another) part of the mod, you will have no issues whatsoever. -
I can't get LLI jar to run, I keep getting this bladebootsomething is invalid, you need to clean with Tes5edit error. Â I deselected all the unsupported armor/weapon mods in my load order and installed the "clean" verion of immersive armor patch and I still get the same type of error. Â (The author is not very responsive in his thread) I just don't get how to get this to work. Â The mods I want to lootify is immersive armor/weapon and the vanilla + DLC stuff. Â surely these are supported. Â Anyone wise with any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

NVDIA or AMD gpu best for modded Skyrim?
Garfink replied to Valamyr's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Bottleneck is the Skryim Engine. So either is fine. I've gone Nvidia simply because of slightly better game support in general. -
Moonpath to Elsweyr/interesting npcs
Garfink replied to runsbuns's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
A recent play through of moonpath with SR (most of it) was fine. Â -
Wyrmstooth - The great mod that i can't play
Garfink replied to 7hr08ik's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I am a Skyrim Unleashed, Duel, Forgotten Magic, Apocalyse, Mighty Magick, Skyre (just perks & races, no need for reproccer as I am using the weapon values from Skyrim Unleashed, which only supports immersive armor & weapons), Classic Classes or Race Overhaul, Convenient Horses, Frostfall, Realistic Needs, Wet & Cold (but not the footprint mod), 3DNPC, Inconsequential NPCs, Weapon degrade, ASIS, Falskaar & Wyrmtooth user Wyrmtooth (the new version) works fine now. Â I had the same issue with the previous version of the mod. -
I have a titan with 6Gb VRAM and in my experience with even a moderately modded Skyrim... due to the graphic & script engine being interlinked, even I found the game totally unstable with HD textures + ENBoost + plus a few essential, safe and well tested mods. Obviously nothing to do with my hardware! (nothing to do with my very basic ini files either and no z-fighting tweaks), I run at 2560x1440 on an Eizo CG276, FOV 68 I recommend 1024x1024 for all outdoor textures & creatures, small textures like eyes, food, sacks and clutter, 1024x1024 for weapons (I don't see much of a visual difference in game with smaller weapon textures), and 2048x1024 for skin/armor/clothing textures which does make a huge difference in-game (these look really bad at 1024x1024). 2048x1024 (maybe higher) for caves and dungeon walls. I recommend laying off adding more LODs objects, I just have sparrowprince's replacement textures and the only LOD objects I run is the animated waterfall and mills. I have found that I can run ALL Hi-res optimized textures only if I don't mod the game much otherwise (I am NO where near the RAM/VRAM limits with the new ENBoost, but the instability are clearly NOT just maxing out RAM/VRAM related, which if you read online, seems to be what everyone is concentrating on!). In which case I can even run the game with uGrid=7 or even 9 quite stable. I can run and fight from Markath to Riften with no problems and it looks amazing..... but who wants to play Skyrim with out all them lovely gameplay mods! P.S. I am a Skyrim Unleashed, Duel, Forgotten Magic, Apocalyse, Mighty Magick, Skyre (just perks & races, no need for reproccer as I am using the weapon values from Skyrim Unleashed, which only supports immersive armor & weapons), Classic Classes or Race Overhaul, Convenient Horses, Frostfall, Realistic Needs, Wet & Cold (but not the footprint mod), 3DNPC, Inconsequential NPCs, Weapon degrade, ASIS, Falskaar & Wyrmtooth user with a very cut down version of S.T.E.P./S.R/S.R. Legendary. (I am listing the bigger scripted mods here, just so you have an idea what I am running) I've gotten rid of the mods I can live without (for example: Bring out your dead) and not including mesh/texture only mods, I only have around 80 esps or so in my load-order, whereas I had 255 before when I was in CTD hell. Now I don't get crashes at all (for 25+ hours) and no more infinite load screens either!!!! Worth the sacrifice I say!! I use to live with the crashes which occurs randomly between 10-45 minutes and with frequent saves, it can be done. But it was so annoying and frustrating!!! I will install mods like Better Vampires or Become a Bard for Roleplaying purposes and only if I intend to actually be a Vampire or a Bard in that particular playthrough. Don't just install everything in S.R.!! Especially the mods you are not likely going to use! (I am being verbose, because this is the sort of information I was looking for when I was having issues and couldn't find any straight forward and uptodate advice. Hope this helps someone!!)

Just use ASIS increased spawn function (primarily reason people use ASIS) and turn off the other functions, potions/perks/spells. Â Usually that fixes the problem.

I am still testing this. I love it and it works, the odd physics isn't bad at all really and certainly not game breaking. I just kept getting crashed as I approach the cart outside Whiterun and I don't know why, maybe it was this mod, maybe it was something else. So I disable this and some other stuff and crash was gone. I will probably try again.

ACCEPTED Better Shaped Weapons - BSW (by masterofshadows and LeanWolf)
Garfink replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I've this DeLarp, SSwTB then this mod installed and like what I see. mesh changes aren't too thin, the stubby shortswords still are stubby but just less so, they don't look like rapiers. Keeper. -
SKYRIMLE Yet Another Skyrim Hardcore mod - YASH.
Garfink replied to Smile44's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
My latest playthru, I struggled between using this mod or Skyrim Unleashed. Ended up picked the latter because that mod even though very similar in scope works fine with SkyRe's perk changes which I would miss very much. I use ASIS too. I also liked the changes at low levels in Skyrim Unleash to make the beginning of the game less painful, less aggro from powerful bandits who see you as too weak and poor to attack and less aggro from wildlife. That mod also messes big time with the level lists but doesn't mess with the scaling with the player much. meaning it retains the ability for the player to explore where ever he wants, but need to know that some previously easy kills like draugrs are now a lot tougher, but a draugr is still a draugr. Otherwise this would've been a fine choice as well. Maybe my next play through. Aside: If someone can tell me how to use Lootification I would be very happy. I was planning to spread enchants to Immersive weapons & armor but just can't get lootification to work. I keep getting errors saying such and such "armorbladewhatever" is invalid and needs cleaning with TesVedit. But I don't know what's wrong though. -
SKYRIMLE OBIS - Organized Bandits In Skyrim (by Indigoblade)
Garfink replied to Zeran's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Immersive patrols and OBIS works fine together, I've had more trouble with Immersive Patrol to be honest, as it causes problems with increase spawns. Which can cause freezes depending on your load-order and how heavy it is. BUT OBIS is amazing, adds a lot of new-ness to the game, a walk from Riverwood to Whiterun can be surprising, when you are mobbed by a Bandit Ambush. The variation in bandit types and individuals is VERY noticeable and it adds a lot to the game. I was sort of sad to stop using it temporary in my current play through because I am trying out Skyrim Unleashed and OBIS's changes to the spawns & level list would totally wreck Skyrim Unleashed's balance big time. -
Still need to wait for updates, as it is you don't get clear skies ever and there are still small glitches that is immersion breaking, like I get vertical lines between "clouds" occasionally that is very obvious just walking around (Not looking specifically for it.).  As for the flickering, I think that its very minor and doesn't occur all the time and only very intermittently and weighting the benefits of the mod, its acceptable. (as I am not sure if this can actually be fixed.) The thick white outlines doesn't occur when using ENB though. I haven't noticed that since the version 1.00. Not sure if its there if ENB is turned off though. I am also not sure if the clouds match all the weathers from COT (and supreme storms for me) properly. Most of the time its fine. I like the distant rain and the fog. But when it works as intended, it is indeed amazing.

SKYRIMLE Project Parallax Remastered (by Osmodius)
Garfink replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Must have mod for me, adds so much to the game everywhere its not funny. I use SRO, SeriousHD AND Skyrim2k just like that in Skyrim Revisited Legendary edition (except I decrease the texture sizes for small objects more aggressively, as I've had crashes on a UBER machine, with their standard recommendation.) I use the SRO version of PP Remastered and place it at the bottom. Because SR-Legendary is based more around SRO than Skyrim 2K, so I get more benefit from PP Remastered. -
SKYRIMLE Sleeping and Fast Travel Dangers - Sands of Time
Garfink replied to Bealdwine's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I've played with the new versions now, the scripts are all very streamline now and there are no longer any errors in papyrus (I am a mod order based around (listing only the major mods) using SkyRe, ASIS, Skyrim Unleashed, Weapon Degradation), so its a good time to try it. The author has added "ASIS - like" spawns now too, which can be adjusted in game and this is going through testing now and has a long way to go before it covers everything like ASIS. I for one, still use ASIS for extra spawns (for now) and SOT for sleeping encounters, walking encounters, ie. reinforcement NPCs during long combats and other random encounters. As some of you know, Skyrim Unleash is very very fuzzy about other mods, as almost any thing that adds encounters, items, changes to level list will wreck its fine-tuned balance, and I've found no problems with using it with SOT. Worth another look everyone. -
I've used this for a long time, and I do think making all static barrels contain stuff is cheating, especially with mods like realistic needs, the amounts of free food you get makes that mod a little pointless. I do love being able to harvest food piles and chop down trees though, which is very immersive. The mod is customizible, so you can just turn off what you don't want on. The only issue I'll have is its continuous script firing in search for static objects, which could cause crashes in combination with other scripted mods.
-
I vote for this mod, the cell edits for water conditions are very appropriate for different water conditions. Tranquil lakes, slow flowing rivers, makes for much better realism compared to W.A.T.E.R.  I've always thought the waves in WATER on rivers are too choppy and that was why some people like the Tranquil Purewater mod instead. I think Realistic Water strikes a fine balance and does it well.

SKYRIMLE Sleeping and Fast Travel Dangers - Sands of Time
Garfink replied to Bealdwine's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I run ASIS, immersive creatures, immersive patrols, Skytest AND DFB - random encounters AND radiance AND extra encounters with no problems and since the new ENB 0.202 it fixed my infinite load screen issues with inconsequential NPCs and other mods adding NPCs to towns like immersive settlements (this reminds me a lot of better cities for oblivion, I hope it reaches the same scope on its completion.) I don't use immersive NPCs since it was initially edited with SNIP and I am not sure if it's safe and also the NPC's long winded conversations gets old quick. Unlike those in Falskaar, these new NPCs don't seem as integrated in to the world, and most just add conversation. I think some have quests but most don't. I prefer inconsequential NPC for it's simpleness. I love sands of time, and now that my game is stable and my new mobo arrives and I get everything running smoothly again, I will try to get it to work, in the past I had some script lag when used with SR, frostfall would intermittently bug out and say that it's taking too long for scripts to run. SOT really adds a lot of tension to the game, the message that come up like "you hear something up ahead" really keep you on your toes. The recently version of the game mod adds ability to turn off aspects of the mod you're not interested in, like I turn off the fast travel scripts because I don't use fast travel anyway and I adjusted the reinforcement spawns to my liking. I love the sleeping encounters, just turn off the animations which I had trouble with. Works wonders with frostfall for immersion. I toned down sleeping encounters in inns and the college which I thought was a little silly. The author is testing traders in dungeons at the moment and I have these turned off because they sell ridiculous amounts of overpowered equipment and makes no sense (not sure how they carry all this stuff). I also turn off dungeon adventurer encounters, because they don't seem to be doing much in-game, they just seem to relax in the area they are spawned and don't do much adventuring. SOT won't replace ASIS because ASIS adds spawns whilst SOT clone spawns which means NPCs with the same equipment and stats. ASIS also does a lot of other amazing things like give Apocalypse spells, perks & potions to NPCs which makes for a more realistic and fair experience (i.e. the NPCs has the same advantages as you). From previous experimentation, you can use ASIS with SOT, but I would probably laid off the others. It does make the early game much more difficult, but you can't tone that down as well, by selected the option that disallow difficult spawns to a certain user defined level. That's my 2 cents. -
I find it odd that these mods work for Neovalen and other people, but causes problems with others. It's always puzzling to me. In the past I've tried disabling mods (and starting a new game) like these to solve my CTD or freeze issues and have found that in the end it wasn't the problem after all. If you add the mods that use scripts from SR and refrain from adding any more on top of it, you should be fine and the game should run without script problems. (This doesn't mean you can't add more mods, just do it one at a time after that). Yes SkyTest and other mods that add spawns (like ASIS and even Sands of Time) can cause problems, but I have found the problem to be a VRAM/RAM problem in most cases, the new spawns will add load to the RAM/VRAM and that is what causes the crashes on some systems whilst being totally stable on other systems. I suggest lowering the texture quality to VERY LOW temporary to see if that solves your CTDs, if it does, then you know your mods's scripts aren't the problem but it's the graphic load that they cause. Stupid game engine. Then pray to the divines that Boris (enb fame) finds a fix to the problem, the recent update fixed my infinite load problem and made my game much more stable.
