SKYRIMLE Expanded Snow Systems - CoT by JonusL2D
Garfink replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Just tried graphics mods + Skyre perks + Skyrim unleashed at uGrids 7 .... nope... script issue I am sure... was fine for a long time... ran from dawnstar and everything was fine, had a few fights here and there... as I approached Whiterun... script center of the Skyrim... I see the Giant that Aela and co. will kill in the far distance (very nice you can see it coming that far away.)... the game freezes and CTDs. Tried uGrids 9 with the same setup... freeze about a minute the way in. Testing done. Back to playing. Oh back on the topic, don't trust BOSS it loads this above Supreme Storms. -
IA is much better. Keep IA. IW... meh...

No, the mod doesn't use scripts. -

I get bored with Warriors unless I have developed an awesome back story for them. I can recommend a Songsword, its a bard that uses curved blades that wears no armor and relies on illusion magic to cause havoc to mobs or calm mobs and then falls back on alteration/restoration for protection. Use whatever race you want, Altmer is probably best, I am using a nerfed Lunari for their hot looks. Stone: Lord. I never use mage/warrior/thief stones, what's the hurry I say! build up your character slowly. Only will use destruction magic/duel wield late in the game again very tough monsters. Very little alchemy is used, but you could specialize in poisons which is infrequently used. I have tactless toxins install. Carry around a lute and install Become a Bard mod... Its a challenging build, but a lot of fun, remember you run faster than everyone else in the game because you only wear cloth. Which means you can download some sexy cloth gear off the nexus! And don't worry, you will be uber once you get frost cloak the only reason I developed destruction magic in the build. -
You think immersive armor/weapon causes issues when its added to the level lists? I have wondered about how much impact such loot would have on the game.... I was think that if you spawn an EXTRA NPC, you have spawned with it, a new set of weapons/armor into the game world, but what if you don't add NPCs and just have IA or IW replace existing equipment. That seems to me less of a problem... but I may be missing something.

:) I have Fridays off so its Skyrim Modding time!!! Its going to be a LONNNGGG night! I am trying something drastic tonight. I am TIRED of tip-toeing around this game engine and I do have the game stable with about 130 active esp. and lots of optimized textures. (BUT, 1 more scripted mod and the game gives me infinite loads) BUT I do know people that have uGrids=9 (11, 15?!?) without issues. I want to see how many mods and what sort of mods I can keep and run at uGrids 9... ;P Probably all 3 mods!! ha ha. I have a theory... if a mod causes instability at uGrids 9, it probably means that mod stresses the game at at any uGrids, maybe a more reliable? quicker to way to test mods... -
SKYRIMLE Vivid Landscapes - Rocking Stones and Mountains Parallax by Aron
Garfink replied to mightyusaid's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I like using Somber ENB, and Sepia is on in the ENB and so the rocks look warmer anyway. But with the brown rocks, its just too much. I also recently tried out "Skyrim Realistic Texture Overhaul", I like the snow textures from that, but the grass/dirt is way too saturated compared to vanilla. -

Hmmm, not sure, I will have a look tonight when I get home from work. (I am in Hong Kong and its 5pm here.) -
That is a good observation & Skyrim Unleash isn't exactly intensive either.... I think I'll make a new profile in ModOrganizer and give it a go... I wonder what uGrid 11 even looks like.... uGrid 7 looks awesome as it is... Â

I've played with this, its pretty good, when it kicks in you know its different. I like the variety in the weather. Necessary... nope... nice to have and shouldn't add any load to the game either. -

I wish there were some so of "guide" to adjust all the quests.... When is the best and most fun time to do the Dawnbreaker quest for instance... that sort of thing. Certainly would do well to be including in S.T.E.P. if someone comes up with an optimized setup. -

He is using the one-handed version in his current Conan play through. Looks much more medieval then the vanilla version. Nice. -

My favorite rocks by far! Using the classic light grey version, the brown looks out of place with the grey stone fences and buildings. -
Good little mod, works as advertised, no issues whatsoever.... except that fire REALLY hurt now! I died once in Breezehome... O.o

I think it is said somewhere (so don't quote me on it!) that SPM isn't 100% accurate with how much RAM/VRAM Skyrim uses, but is close enough for comparisons. I haven't used SPM for awhile now, ever since the advent of ENB 2.00+ and upgrading to a Titan, I've never gotten near my RAM/VRAM limits so I stopped looking. I guess its a good tool for looking at FPS over time though. I also think the new ENB no longer allow Fraps to run concurrently. -
Interesting immersive alternative to Wet & Cold (which I don't use any more because it's just too script intensive, I have almost join the legion of people that don't use scripted mods, aside from SkyUI and ImmersiveHUD), how are you applying the changes? Is it a dynamic script? Just a level list change?Â

Good mod, I used it ONCE, to adjust the camera on the fly... I wrote down the changes and then made those changes in my ini file... uninstalled it and forgotten about it.

Nothing to do with S.T.E.P. or S.R. because with any scripted mods running your uGrid endeavors will fail. Increasing uGrid will increase the number of scripts running exponentially and even with vanilla scripts you will be struggling. From my observations of all those folks that have uGrid 7, 9 or 11 running is that they run the game with only graphics mods and no gameplay mods. Without this mod, I was able to run uGrid 7 stable without mods apart from graphics mods. It would be interesting to see if you can sneak in frostfall and skyrim unleash though.... if you could... I would be willing to play at uGrid 9 or 11... But would be willing to forgo my other needs....

Honestly I can't tell the difference between the 1K, 2K and 4K version.

I am using ECaT at the moment and certainly sitting on fence looking with intense interest as to where this will go. Good work.

Only other tip I can think of, is you need to be at a moderately high level, you will meet some deleveled monsters that are pretty darn tough at low levels.
