DROPPED Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul (by Shurah)
soupdragon replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Thats exactly my understanding of Nexus rules regarding patches. Whatever he may state in permissions he has no authority to demand other authors remove their patches under said rules. Its a pity MissJennabee didn't ignore his request and let it go to a Staff decision because I'm sure they'd have found in her favour but I guess she didn't want to deal with the risk/stress involved. -
Ok just read that it doesn't work with Game.GetFormFromFile() either. Shame. Guess you could use Quest.GetQuest() but not everyone uses SKSE. GetForm was only used as it was recomended a way of avoiding Properties and the dreaded Strings table limit. Try and fix one thing and you end up borking something else. Ah well.

Hmm. this is interesting I wasn't sure if it was even supposed to work with sound files thanx for confirming that least, I'm having similar issues scripts copy over ok but sound files do not. Also if I choose the create BSA option BSAopt pops up with blank fields and the merge process stalls at that point I can only cancel the merge to get out of it. Also with any merged files player dialogue doesn't function anymore (lack of sound files?). Etc.

I feel the same way at times about my mods. But then again I'm a mod user too and I won't endorse every mod I download. Most of time I'll download something as its the only way to try it out and then decide I didn't like it or its not what I'm looking for so I'll delete it. Sorry but I won't endorse something that doesn't suit that would be disingenous. :/ Also I like to test it for a while so there will be a gap between downloading and endorsing but if I do like it though then I'll endorse. Eventually. (Sometimes I'll just plain forget sometimes I look at the page later and think "Oh I didn't endorse that I'll do it now." So its not malicious just plain forgetfulness too. At least there isn't the option to downvote it, now that would be an unpleasant business.

Nice, thanks, validated my FOMOD ok. No errors reported by the users either lol. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD v2.17
soupdragon replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
I got it working eventually I deleted all Aspen tree related stuff from the EL installer archive and deleted the Aspen tree edits from Enhanced Landscape.esp, installed EL then RAT+billboards over the top of it, ran DynDoLOD latest and everything was fine after that. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD v2.17

LOD trees on left, regular on the right: https://imgur.com/a/KKWJv Guess I should take it up with AceeQ. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD v2.17
soupdragon replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Ok I finally found out whats going on. If I use RAT standalone the LOD tree textures are fine as you say, if use Enhanced Landscapes instead by the same author which also includes Aspen trees theres some kind of issue with it as any hybrid trees only have monochrome yellow Aspen LOD textures. If I try and overwrite one with the other I end up with purple trees i.e. no textures on the meshes at all. Theres clearly some kind of issue but its beyond me to figure out what it is. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD v2.17
soupdragon replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Ok that seems to be working. Now I just need to figure out how to to get the Realistic Aspen Trees hybrid trees to show the correct textures the hybrid LOD trees are all showing vanilla yellow textures whereas the full model trees/near grid trees have the RAT colours and the contrast is quite jarring lol. (Do I have the RAT tree atlas files present during generation... yes.) -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD v2.17

Hmm can't seem to edit my posts here. Anyway I'm going try using crash fixes with the pre-loader to get around the memory allocation issue. Cheers -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD v2.17
soupdragon replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Yeah I got that that I was just trying to figure out how to get the existing stuff to show up... I finally managed to figure out the instructions... I think. Looks awesome :: https://imgur.com/a/gNLsS I had to up the memory requirements DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=1024 in order to prevent ILS. Not sure if that'll have long term repercussions. I guess I'll find out. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD v2.17
soupdragon replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
n.b. I'm trying to create Ultra trees for Skyrim, well in particular Haarfinger Oaks for Enhanced Lanscapes and I'm reading the Ultra trees manual but I've come across a problem. It mentions this in the instructions: but I can't find any instructions on how to create these optimized Lod versions? -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD v2.17
soupdragon replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Thanks for the new all-in-one replacer and standalone creator way easier than the old manual way of doing things which rarely resulted in a succesful result for me. I'm not unexperienced in modding terms even had a mod on Nexus Hotfiles for a week but I'm in way over my head with this LOD generation stuff. -
I must say I love the rustic silverware its much better than that strange blue tint that other silverware texture overhaul had.
-
Interesting, I might check it out. n.b. how do you get one of those shiny "Mod Author" titles? I have a few mods on Nexus but none of them have been featured here. ;)

SKYRIMLE Superior Silverware (by skyrimaguas)
soupdragon replied to Fantomax's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I tried this when it came out. I removed it as it gave all the siverware a strong blueish tint. Not for me. -
I've been trying this out as everyone says to use it instead of Convenient Horses but... I simply cannot get the "talk" function to work, no matter what button its bound to, nothing happens. I particularly want to loot corpses from horseback its really tedious to keep having to get off my horse. Some functions work, whistle, open inventory, but most do not. I'm really not sure why. CH horses works just fine with everything. Hi nice suggestion but lack of talk while on horseback rule it out for me unfortunately. It definitely feels lighter than CH, but somewhat light on functionality too. I love the auto loot of CH its one thing this is severely missing, followers horses too. And I honestly have no interest in extra horse breeds if I really wanted those I'd have installed a separate mod for it. I just want the existing horses to be more... convenient.

Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD 2.00 to 2.15
soupdragon replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Ah good point I hadn't thought of that, I'll look into it, thanks! -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD 2.00 to 2.15
soupdragon replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Oops, seems I spoke too soon. I'm having all kinds of issues with Solitude Windmill of all things. First of all I was getting invisible walls/floors inside the mill and as well I was getting duplicate rotor sails. https://imgur.com/mr3otPo https://imgur.com/iqKcizL https://imgur.com/sbrF0vL Since I could still walk inside and up and down an invisible staircase I figured collisions were still functional the meshes must be intact just the textures aren't visible in some way. So I took a look in xEdit and noticed this on the model. https://imgur.com/whOT3jv I'm really not sure what Null Texture Sets means but following my hunch I removed it with xEdit and hey presto the missing walls and floors were back. I'm not sure if a coincidence or not but the extra sail was gone too, at least within Solitude itself. Outside Solitude however (tamriel worldspace) its a different matter... https://imgur.com/JuyrKJj the extra sail is definitely added by DynDoLOD the problem seems to be the LOD sail isn't disappearing as you get close the "normal" textures and sails "pop in" but the LOD sail doesn't disappaer so you get two sets of sails. Sometimes even the LOD sail disappears at a distance when the "normal" sail disappears so you have no sails at all. Very curious. I'm undecided whether to simply disable the lod sail and do without it entirely or not at this point. This was on a generate on a clean install of Skyrim with 1.49. https://imgur.com/P7FZI4W -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
soupdragon replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
I finally decided to update from 1.46 to 1.49. And for the first time ever it "just worked" No purple trees, ctds, json errors, funky windmill sails just a nice simple "DyndoLOD has initialised". I don't think I've ever stopped by to say thanks before, so thanks. :) n.b. is it not possible to put the loose files (mnus the SKSE and the .esp) into a BSA anymore? I used to do it before and it worked just fine but now it seems to result in a CTD. Loose files are fine. -
SKYRIMLE Vivid Weathers - a complete Weather and Visual overhaul
soupdragon replied to Mangaclub's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Very nice. I'm liking this very much. Some of the sunsets are a bit... orange for my liking and seem to flood the landscape wish I could adjust those, and I can't seem to get the ENB to perform properly its overbright and bleached out but that could be the old binary I still have, I only use barebones ENB's anyway (DoF, Shadows and God Rays) so no loss there, but still, its strange. Anyway other than that very nice work! -
Open water travel: paddling Skyrim
soupdragon replied to Bandy's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
You mean like this? Can't say I've tried it whilst in a boat though. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65613/? -
Thats the one, without it water will be clear. People tend to fiddle with Skyrim's .ini files without any real idea what they're doing.
-
If you're using ENB disable Vsync in Skyrim.ini and enable it in ENB local. Don't turn on Vsync in both or they'll conflict.
