File compare/merge tools, which do you prefer?
Neovalen replied to GrantSP's topic in Step Banter Inn
I do file compares often and by far the most complete and useful tool is Beyond Compare. That being said, it is of course not free (except the 30 day trial). Pretty much every one of the free tools I have tried are missing functionality that is really useful but they are fine for simple merges. -
Are you using HLE SIC Edition?

In MO nexus settings hit handle nxm and it will remap to MO then do the above. -

No, order does not matter. This is actually stated at the top of the mod list. Looks handy. :) -
https://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/strategy/xcom-2/ This is a good deal, pre-order XCOM-2 by the 14th on GMG and get 23% off with code: SAVE23-WITHGM-GSEP15 I know many of you are looking forward to this one, so figured I'd post it. I just put in my pre-order.

Am I aiming too high with respect to graphics quality?
Neovalen replied to Thick8's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Sweet setup, I'm jealous. :) I used to have 3 monitors as well... it's quite hard to keep them going smoothly without monster hardware. -
Yet it seems to happen quite often, unfortunately.

My personal belief is Nuclear short term, Geothermal long term. Consistent power, minimal impact during normal operation. Solar and wind are both situational (day / windy day) plus not very cost effective. Nuclear is pretty darn safe provided your not mismanaged / skipping on safety (i.e. Japan). Geothermal in the future will likely be great.

I can't be the only one that actually prefers Vanilla to the new lighting mod? I've been looking at the screenshots on Reddit and in a lot of areas Vanilla is better, mod author even says that himself. I'm keeping an eye out for more development before jumping on the bandwagon. :)

This is exactly how I do it. Mods folder for MO is on SSD, download folder is on my slow hdd.

What version of Mod Organizer are you using? Make sure it is the latest.

GUIDE W3R: The Wild Hunt Revisited (Witcher 3)
Neovalen replied to Neovalen's topic in Unsupported Game Guides
I don't believe it's been updated for the new mod tools / new mod install methods yet. I am watching for updates though. -
I install all my tools in a separate directory (i.e. E:\Games\Skyrim\Tools) except for MO which is on my games SSD drive (i.e. D:\Mod Organizer). Wrye Bash unfortunately must be installed on top of Skyrim or I'd install that elsewhere too.

Always a good plan. Interesting that you managed to break it that fast... lol. :) In any case, I am aware of the script merger but I don't trust automatic merges... mainly because they have screwed me in the past. I always do my own merging. In the guide I give instructions line by line on what to do, however, when I do it myself I generally use either the NPP Compare plugin, Winmerge, or Beyond Compare to evaluate what should be merged. -

1. Install Nexus Mod Manager with file associations all turned off in the installer. 2. Run nxmhandler.exe in your Mod Organizer directory. 3. Right click a blank spot and select "Add". 4. Select "Other" then point it to Nexus Mod Manager (NexusClient.exe) and click [OK]. 5. Double click "Other" in the main window and rename it to witcher3. 6. Enjoy. If for some reason it doesn't work, click [Register Active] to make sure this is the nxm handler in use. Also adding this to the newly added FAQ section in the OP. :) -

I know this is older but I Ciriously spit out my drink at the last part of the video... "The View". -
Place your bets please
Neovalen replied to n0mad23's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Pretty much, plus why are people so afraid of a little T&A? Especially in a game where there is spurting blood and/or dismemberment. That being said, the description of purpose and whats included could be better. lol -
GUIDE W3R: The Wild Hunt Revisited (Witcher 3)
Neovalen replied to Neovalen's topic in Unsupported Game Guides
Witcher 1 actually has a lot of characters that show up in 3 that were not in Witcher 2. That being said, Witcher 3 does a pretty good job of showing context without playing the previous games. I only played 2/3 of Witcher 1 and so I got to know a few of the characters from there and ran out of time to play Witcher 2 before playing TW3. Right now, as it stands, there are no combat related changes and it is mostly tweaks, fixes, and HUD improvement. Therefore it is very safe for a first playthrough. :) -
