  1. I'll give that a shot... I'm very frustrated atm trying to make bsa files using DDSOpt or BSAOpt though, they both BSOD my computer at random. Sometimes I can make it all the way through, other times it crashes. Error: C0000005 (Access Violation). Sometimes BSOD sometimes just appcrash. I have no problems just optimizing though. It's only when creating bsa.
  2. I'm thinking about running it now also, using these settings which of the following files so I still need to mark as ignored? The ones in purple are already covered by the DDSopt.ini file. landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcomp.dds landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnow.dds landscape\trees\treepineforestbranchcompsnowl.dds textures\clutter\common\hotiron01.dds textures\black.dds textures\brightyellow.dds textures\default_n.dds textures\defaultdiffuse.dds textures\defaultwithspec_n.dds textures\gray.dds textures\green.dds textures\greynoise.dds textures\lightblue.dds textures\white.dds textures\white_em.dds Are all these other files still broken?
  3. This is a feature request for Skyrim Unplugged... can you add Creation Kit Unplugged into the same tool? Especially with this latest CK update, there are HUGE bug reports coming in. Can't modify armor, can't modify races, etc etc.
  4. I disagree, the W.A.T.E.R implementation is an animated water texture / nif, this changes it to actual water instead. You can see the difference in the screenshots compared to WATER.That being the case, you can actually drop items into the water now and it has a proper collision model.
  5. If you haven't already DO NOT USE THE NEW CREATION KIT. I just tried editing some armor esp's and it changed all the armor values to ZERO instead of the value in the CK... Did it on three separate files, just changed the name of an item and saved...
  6. The creation kit was just updated for the new patch, I'd expect the USKP guys will get right on it and get us a working version soon.
  7. No... not technically. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen. As for 1.6 most of the important stuff has already been updated except for the USKP. Hopefully they will release an interim version that includes all the fixes not related to dialog.
  8. Corrected that for you....
  9. I went ahead and bit the bullet for 1.6 since I saw ScriptDragon and pretty much all the mods I use get updated. I kept a backup of my old skyrim dir though just in case I run into anything really bad.
  10. So tempted to update to 1.6 so I can use convenient horses, but having the unofficial patch and the companions questline broken really hurts...
  11. Once it is deemed "safe" to run the new DDSOpt on all my textures I'm very much looking forward to doing so. Been watching this thread like a hawk, I'd love to get my VRAM usage down.
  12. This mod works pretty good considering the engine it's built on. The physics aren't great for the carts themselves (cart doesn't quite turn enough) and anything in the path of the cart gets thrown back... So it both adds realism (actually have to make the trip via cart) and a comical side of things (guards and/or enemies get tossed when they get close to the cart).
  13. Thanks for the link, I actually took a look at that card and it seems decent.I've seen reviews for the 4gb edition 680's and they look amazing and the editor even noted Skyrim as one of (if not the only) game out there that can use the 4gb with texture packs in surround. So I definitely want to hold out for a 4gb VRAM+ model of whatever I end up with. The problem is I haven't found any of the nice 680 4gb's in stock anywhere yet, I put myself on the notify list over at evga's web site.
  14. Hello everyone, I've been looking to upgrade my Skyrim experience for awhile now and was hoping to get some help from some of the more knowledgeable members out there on how Skyrim performs completely modded out. I guess I'll start out with what kind of performance I'm currently getting. uGrids 5: Without ENB: 30-40fps with frame stuttering (lack of VRAM suspect). With ENB(Ultra SSAO, DOF) + SMAA via dll: 20-25fps with frame stuttering. uGrids 7 won't load at all with texture mods. I currently use STEP with HRDLCOpt /w Vanilla Normals and all the various textures at 1024 if available. I'm looking to upgrade my video card, currently I have an XFX Radeon 5870 1GB. I know pretty much anything will give me a good upgrade but I'm looking to keep playing Skyrim for the foreseeable future. You never know what games are around the corner however so I want to make sure I get a card that will last me a few years. To that end, the options I've been considering are the following: Radeon HD7970 3GB (Available now) Nvidia 680GTX 2GB (Available now) Radeon HD7970 6GB (Available in a few weeks supposedly) Nvidia 680GTX 4GB (Available in a few weeks supposedly) Nvidia 685GTX 4GB (GK110 available August 2012 supposedly) I know my VRAM is currently running out and I'd love to get back to playing in surround/eyefinity as I have the three monitors. I'm holding about 600 dollars in my hand for a single card massive upgrade. I've been leaning towards waiting but the danger is there's always something around the corner... that or I might spend the money mean time.
  15. There was a post by Arthmoor in the official forums, don't count on a USKP update for 1.6 until Bethesda updates the Creation Kit. Apparently the CK is broken and can no longer update dialog or trigger scripts through dialog for 1.6, thus all quest and/or dialog fixes are broken. Thank god for Skyrim Unplugged. So if you are running Skyrim 1.6 and did not freeze your install at 1.5 using Skyrim Unplugged then it's highly suggested to remove USKP or completely stop questing until it is updated. Edit: Link for Athmoor's post. Edit2: Link for another Arthmoor post specifying what is broken.
  16. Thanks for the update Fri! I was just looking into why Windhelm was causing my game to CTD!
  17. Discussion thread: Dynamic Fires by woodbyte Wiki Link Description: Allows one to ignite and extinguish fires by using fire and ice spells, respectively. It also puts out fires that have been running for some time. (**update** - torch bashing now lights up fires too)This initial release features all campfires. Other fires will be added in future versions. [video=youtube] My Comments: I submit this mod to you as a future STEP candidate for immersion. Being able to light/douse fires in the world via spells/torches is really cool! I've tested in game, it appears to work nicely with my entire mod collection. Very early stages, only campfires (big and small) are affected. As in the description, more to be added later. Go try it out! He has more on his steam workshop page, as the nexus page is just a mirror.
  18. Are you using any type of overlay programs? I have heard some of these mess with ENB really bad.
  19. Agreed, EBT is definitely superior at this point.
  20. Sadly, Nordic Ruins Objects Retexture also appears to be missing now.
  21. language problem I think, that's what he just did :PYou are correct Sir! :) I confirmed it myself.
  22. Covered hereNot sure what you mean? I uninstalled WB and deleted the Mopy folder in my existing install... then tried to use the installer and nothing is showing up. I had no trouble with the 295.5 installer when I originally installed...
  23. Hrm any idea why the new Bash installer is not detecting my Skyrim directory? All I get is a checkbox for "Install to extra locations".
  24. Just to make sure, another confirm on this one!
  25. Ah Bethesda patches... love em in some ways, hate em in others. Time to make sure I freeze my Skyrim before it goes live. Especially since I use ScriptDragon and it's usually weeks before an update. Aparently Wrye Bash is also broke, hopefully there will be an update before too long.
