  1. ENB is starting to become a requirement for my own use anymore. The latest updates have been amazing. According to the forums on his site there will be another update from Boris with a sky fix and other fixes before too long. So far I'm not overly impressed with RCRN v3... but that is being updated as well. Hopefully between the lighting mods we get something at least semi-stable soon. I actually want to play the game instead of constantly modding... eventually. Skyrim is 80% trying new mods, 15% searching for mods, 5% actually playing the game.
  2. Its these little things that are making me go Green for my next purchase...
  3. I use an ATI card, so unfortunately that will not help me. :)
  4. Only thing I see is to disable vsync... can't specify a frame limit. I'll see if I can find any guides via google.
  5. Understood but I want to limit to 30fps, not 60fps which is what vsync is at.
  6. Is there a wrong and a right way to limit FPS in Skyrim? I know ENB has a limiter, there's an external program FPS Limiter, etc.
  7. There seems to be a lot of over-bright spots in the new RCRN v3... hopefully they fix that in a few updates.
  8. Based on my results it's definitely GPU limited both in speed and VRAM. Now I just need to decide what to do about it.Upgrading my video card requires me to swap up motherboards if I want the full effect due to changes in PCI-E Bandwidth( Link ), however I could use my current system in a reduced capacity. I either: a) Live with it until the "full" Nvidia cards come out in August and upgrade my entire system then. b) Do a minor upgrade now just to get a slightly better framerate/higher VRAM and upgrade again later. I'm fairly sure now is not the right time to do a full computer upgrade.
  9. Here's a WIP-setup of ENB .111 for use with RCRN made by my brother and me. It uses the Enhanced Shaders ENB setting as a base but in the .ini almost nothing remains of his settings, and the DoF has been very much remade aswell as we both hate when DoF is too strong as it is with most ENB setups. Also some changes to bloom in the enbeffect.fx have been made.It was made for RCRN 2.1 but seems to work fine with RCRN 3 with the little testing done so far. It tried to stick as close as possible to the RCRN lighting. SSAO settings have not been tinkered with since .110 release so needs some work but that is easy to do (under [sSAO_SSIL] in the ini) for what suits you best. Also included are some textures for sunglare/moon that my brother made specifically for this setup. Obviously optional if you don't want them. :P Anyway as I said it's a work in progress but in my personal opinion it's the best ENB setup for use with RCRN if you actually want the effects such as SSAO and DoF etc. No binary included as Boris doesn't want that! https://www.mediafire.com/?9ba98dq2m549481 I forgot to ask but which RCRN is this made for? Pure, Classic, or Legacy?
  10. I really wish I had a clue where all the various effects come from (i.e. what file contains the bokeh dof, what file does SSAO, etc.) so I could really configure these things to my liking. Does anyone have a guide or something they could link to?
  11. Definetly going to give it a shot, I just finished trying a "only shadows" ini file from the other thread in this forum and it looks nice. (obviously no SSAO / DoF but good shadows) Your setting looks nice. I had to turn down the SSAO a bit for some performance (just changed UseComplexIndirectLighting=false). The DOF is a little light for me, but I agree with you that sometimes it can be overwhelming for some settings.
  12. Update from Boris:14 may 2012 Updated 0.111 KAGE for TES Skyrim. I'm such a fool! Did a mistake in the code of detection vendor and after fixing it, ATI works. Purchased videocard for nothing, nice. At least i got experience that ATI is bad, too much negative factors accumulated. My Comments: It looks like ENB is working properly for my ATI card now, I just need to figure out how to make RCRN/ENB work together without making the image too dark. Optimally I want his new performance SSAO, New Shadows, and Bokeh DOF.
  13. Personally I just manually installed RCRN v3 and didn't overwrite.
  14. Exactly, the setting and story is good but damned if I don't hate the game play.
  15. I more meant you can configure more things in the driver such as SSAO, various types of AA, etc. For ATI its really basic.
  16. I always buy top end, but I only buy a video card once every 2 or 3 years. I've pondered waiting till August for Nvidia's new top end. I would just buy a ATI 7970 but... Nvidia seems to have better driver support, etc. My last 4 computers have used ATI.
  17. I think realistic lighting has its plus and minus. I'm personally looking forward to trying RCRN 3.0 with ENB DoF, Shadows, and SSAO.
  18. RCRN Release Trailer: [video=youtube]
  19. I don't think there's any need for SLI cards in Skyrim, not to mention that the game probably doesn't scale all that well with multi-gpu configs, with it's CPU usage and all that. It's an old and outdated engine after all. Your probably right, but Skyrim will not be the end all of my gaming habbits over the next few years. :)
  20. I am thinking when I can actually get some a pair of EVGA GTX 680 FTW 4GB in SLI would be good. That'll give me 4GB memory (4+4/2) and hopefully superior performance. Unfortunately it likely means I'll be handing my system down to my wife since I'll need a new motherboard / processor setup to use a 680. Thank god for tax returns sometimes.
  21. Really looking forward to a stable release that works for ATI. Hopefully sooner rather than later. :) Hats off to Boris for all the hard work though. Looks promising when it works.
  22. ENB 0.110 released - Link 12 may 2012 Published ENBSeries 0.110 KAGE for TES Skyrim. Additional performance optimizations applied for both ATI and NVidia users. Contain bugfixes for underwater and grass when using fake "ENB" videocard (temporary required for ATI users). New shadow at this moment only working on NVidia cards, sorry, find out this only today. Added bugfix for parallax modifications.
  23. I shall double check my settings. Turns out DDSOpt is set for Skyrim. BSAOpt was left on Automatic. So I'll be sure to fix that.
  24. It shouldn't be, I just ran the guide in the STEP Installation Guide wiki. It works great when I pack it with FO3 Archive Utility so if it was a folder issue you'd think it would show up then.
