Is this a cracked verison of Skyrim?
Nebulous112 replied to GamerPoets's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Fore has a couple methods of determining whether the games were cracked besides the install directory. I have seen him state as much on his Nexus posts page. I'm guessing it is something in the error logs, but I'm not sure. The man offers a ridiculous amount of support for his tool, but he absolutely refuses to help those who have cracked games. The responses can be pretty entertaining. :-D -

Yes, the 2.4.5 2.4.4 version had a problem with the FOMOD where the animated barrels and such were being installed with the inanimate version. Edit: Sorry, it was 2.4.4 with the bug. Same idea though, 2.4.4 was the latest version yesterday. -
For the purposes of the game, there is no difference. Hiding the file makes it hidden from the game; Skyrim only draws on assets that the game requests. The file is still there, but with a different extension it isn't recognized by the game. Not installing the files when you install the mod requires you to click on the option that I think is called "manual install" when the dialogue window with the mod name appears. This will come up with a new window where you can then move files around and such (you would recognize this window from some mods that you installed anyway). The window in question is the one where you have to specify the Data directory. Another alternative is to delete the files afterword instead of hiding them. Basically the only difference between deleting (or not installing) the files and hiding them is disk space. Of course, when you hide the files you can always unhide them later, but that would run counter to the intent of hiding them in the first place. :-P

Nothing for SR:LE purposes. Added a few mods SR:LE doesn't use, took out a mod that SR:LE doesn't use (WATER), and also took out an associated mod that SR:LE did use (Water Plants). Definitely no need to update. -
I was not on the wiki too much, but I did go on a few times during the day, and there were no speed issues that I saw.

Better-Shaped Weapons v2.0.05 changed to v2.0.06

I'm not at my computer to check, but it should be the same, I think. -
pack Dreadflopps Modular patches
Nebulous112 replied to dreadflopp's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I just checked the ELFX installer and there is a No Breezehome option. It installs a separate plugin that removes ELFX from Breezehome. Easy enough solution. :-) -

Hey Dreadflopp, Since you are around, I'm wondering what you recommend for Breezehome by Lupus. Use its own lighting, or use ELFX records, etc. When I last checked, the patch in the modular patches download was for Breezehome Fully Upgradable, which I think you dropped. -

DROPPED Skyrim Flora Overhaul (by vurt)
Nebulous112 replied to JudgmentJay's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If we re-evaluate the newer versions, I noticed Vurt uploaded a 2k texture pack compatible with any version of SFO 2.0+. Should get better performance than with some of the 4k trees in the original file. -

I hope you feel better soon, Neo. Children are the worst for bringing home viruses... School is just one big breeding ground for disease. :-P Anyway, I noticed Vurt uploaded a 2k texture pack for SFO, compatible with any version of SFO 2.0+. Should get performance out of this than the 4k trees. Not sure if this is something you're interested in or not. -
This looks very impressive, Starac. :-) I'm excited for the English release to try it out. Does anyone know if it will have English voice acting? Edit: I decided to not be lazy and to use Google like a normal person. Yes, the English release will have English voice acting. Looks neat!

Yeah, NLVA just overwrites vanilla weathers, it doesn't add any weathers. There are a couple different plugins to increase the weather variety based on your taste, but it still only has the vanilla amount of weathers. On the bright side, it is totally compatible with Wet and Cold (which VW isn't totally compatible with yet), and it is also compatible with True Storms, if that is a mod that interests you. -
Lol, I watched the video after you posted, I just didn't comment. Pretty cool looking, for sure. I'm just still a little skeptical on VR. I've never tried it, and I'm worried that the technology is so new that I will either be disappointed, or whatever tech I buy will be eclipsed within a year, or both. :-/ But don't let me get you folks down...the game itself does look pretty neat. I mean, who doesn't want an opportunity to be on the bridge? Now I want to watch some TNG...too bad Netflix took it down in Canada. :-( I guess I'll have to settle for one of the movies...

In MO, the left pane determines what textures and other assets overwrite what. Place the vanilla reduced textures near the top of the left pane. If you are using the Legendary version then place it just after Dragonborn. This mod precludes using the STEP Vanilla Optimized Textures or any of the High Res content. Pick one or the other. :-P

DROPPED Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul (by Shurah)

The current version is recommended. The page just hasn't been updated for the new FOMOD style. Use the "full" version, with just the core files. -
STEP Guide Archive Question
Nebulous112 replied to Archcaduceus's question in Pack Support (retired)
Archiving is the opposite of extracting. So if you extracted the Skyrim Redesigned mod with a program like 7-Zip in step one, then just do the opposite and zip it back up, or "archive" it after you place the FOMOD folder from the linked download into it. Let me know if that makes any sense, if not I can try to lay out the steps a little more explicitly. :-) -
Inaccurate FPS reading in ENB
Nebulous112 replied to syw651's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
The FPS reading in the ENB menu is known to be buggy. That happens very frequently, so I wouldn't worry about that. the FRAPs reading is correct. -
Can't start game with minimal content at STEP 2.D
Nebulous112 replied to bagman's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
I'm not sure if this is the cause, but the STEP recommended .ini tweak for 7 types of grass assumes that Skyrim Flora Overhaul is installed, which you do not have installed yet. Try setting that back down to 3. If that doesn't work, try validating your game cache via the Steam menu. Right click on Skyrim in the games list, go to properties, and that option will be somewhere in there. If you have the cleaned .esm's setup as their own mods in MO, it won't affect those. And because you are using MO, it won't touch the MO .ini files. So it should be perfectly safe for you to do without having to re-do any steps. If that does not work, please post your skyrim.ini, skyrimprefs.ini, and enblocal.ini in spoiler tags.
text
-
Free (or Cheap) Games & Giveaways
Nebulous112 replied to EssArrBee's topic in General Game Discussion
You guys are all crazy. Fallout is fun in its own way. And not liking Star Wars is just heresy. Although Star Trek is the much better universe. ;-) And HP, Brother, Kodak? C'mon people. We all know the Epson WorkForce is the best printer for the money! :-D But getting back on topic...yay Steam sale?! For anyone crazy enough not to already own all the Skyrim DLCs (I'm looking at you, Fallout people ;-) ), they are all on sale as expected. As is Legendary Edition, which is cheaper than any two of the DLCs I believe. Remember: Skyrim Special Edition will be free on October 28th for whoever has Skyrim and all DLCs! As far as my picks on the Steam sale so far? Not much. I grabbed Rise of Nations: Extended Edition for $4.39 Canadian. So that is probably $3 USD. Can't beat that. -
See this Reddit discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/4pp2gu/psa_there_is_a_bug_with_vanilla_skyrim_that/ Requiem article that Reddit is discussing: https://requiem.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=61472833 It seems there is a vanilla Skyrim bug that enemies in the current cell have their perk values multiplied upon reload. The article advises that a "double load" will fix this issue. I am wondering if exiting to desktop and then loading would also fix this issue, as has been advised in the past for other save issues. (For example, see Neo's advice in SR:LE to exit to desktop after character death.) Edit: Apparently exiting to desktop doesn't cut it, as you can see from the videos in the article that he actually did exit to desktop. I was confused as the next frame shows him in the main menu. He probably just edited the video to remove shots of his desktop.

I see what you meant. I was trying to figure out where this was being referred to, and you meant in the link to the versioning page. Yeah, no that is just an example of what would constitute enough of a change to be considered "major" and bump up the first number in the version schema.
