If you are using Mod Organizer 2, you need to keep all of these plugins active (checked) in the right pane. In the Plugins tab, activate HighResTexturePack01.esp, HighResTexturePack02.esp, HighResTexturePack03.esp, Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp, STEP DLC Optimized Textures, STEP Vanilla Optimized Textures, Modern Brawl Bug Fix.esp, and BWS.esp. Pretend the Archives tab does not exist. Have MO manage archives does not exist. Pretend the archives list does not exist. You can download Mod Organizer 1 Legacy (version 1.3.14) from the Miscellaneous Files section, but this is likely the last version of Mod Organizer 1 to be released. Mod Organizer 2 has been getting a lot of updates lately, is fairly stable, and is more flexible in that it supports both the 32-bit and 64-bit Bethesda games, so you may as well stick with Mod Organizer 2. I'm starting to move all my stuff over to Mod Organizer 2 as well.

Mod Organizer doesn't activate mods in game
Greg replied to Oldn00bBlues's question in Mod Organizer Support
It looks as if Mod Organizer can't find some of the DLC content: 20:39:34 [D] mod "Unmanaged: HighResTexturePack01" (profile "F:/ModOrganizer2/profiles/SexLab Playthrough") not found 20:39:34 [D] mod "Unmanaged: HighResTexturePack02" (profile "F:/ModOrganizer2/profiles/SexLab Playthrough") not found 20:39:34 [D] mod "Unmanaged: HighResTexturePack03" (profile "F:/ModOrganizer2/profiles/SexLab Playthrough") not found 20:39:34 [D] mod "Unmanaged: Dawnguard" (profile "F:/ModOrganizer2/profiles/SexLab Playthrough") not found 20:39:34 [D] mod "Unmanaged: Dragonborn" (profile "F:/ModOrganizer2/profiles/SexLab Playthrough") not found 20:39:34 [D] mod "Unmanaged: HearthFires" (profile "F:/ModOrganizer2/profiles/SexLab Playthrough") not found I also don't see it finding the base game files like Skyrim.esm and Update.esm. -
Mod Organizer doesn't activate mods in game
Greg replied to Oldn00bBlues's question in Mod Organizer Support
I don't think this is the issue because I have no problem running SKSE and the game from Mod Organizer 1.3.11. The game starts and loads my old saves just fine. I don't have Tale of Two Wastelands installed yet but I doubt the Nexus issue has anything to do with this either. Editing the hosts file isn't exactly the best course of action either and I suspect it will eventually break when Nexus prunes those old entry points. -
STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures - Standard Version
Greg replied to Gterror's question in DDSopt Support
Yes, you're right. I have mine at the top just below the Unofficial High Resolution Patch as well. This allows all the other mods in the guide to override the vanilla assets. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
Greg replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I searched for WMX-POPMerged and found these two messages from WilliamImm related to it. I'm guessing this mean WMX-POPMerged.esp is covered in one of the patches WilliamImm created, but this is just a guess. -
STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures - Standard Version
Greg replied to Gterror's question in DDSopt Support
You should use LOOT to sort the load order in the right pane. The note on STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures means you should click the Archives in the right pane (it's just above the grid) and ensure STEP DLC Optimized Textures - Standard.bsa is checked. While you're at it ensure all of the BSA files in the Archives tab are checked and that "Have MO manage archives" at the top is also checked. -
If you go to the Archives tab in the right pane you should see a list of all BSA files. Ensure all these are checked. Also ensure that "Have MO manage archives" is checked at the top.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
Greg replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I installed the Caliber 3-18 FOMOD and CaliberX ESM update - v4.017 main files and the WotMM v1.1 CalX Patch optional file. MonoAccipiter has a post from last year that links to a Dirty Weasel video installing this combination of mods. -
This makes sense because I have Unofficial Patch Plus from January and haven't updated to the latest version yet. I hadn't even noticed there was an update because I'm still piddling wit a Fallout 3 playthrough with Clear and Present Danger. Glad to hear you found a workaround.

DROPPED Fore's New Idles in Skyrim -- Special Edition (by fore)
Greg replied to GrantSP's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
Yes, I think you're exactly right. I know AL12 recommend using file redirection with FNIS and OutdatedTV uses file redirection in his video guide on installing FNIS. I was hoping to catch AL12 or Silarn on discord to ask them about this issue with PCEA2 but I hhaven't seen them on today. I imagine they need a well-deserved break anyway.- 20 replies

DROPPED Fore's New Idles in Skyrim -- Special Edition (by fore)
Greg replied to GrantSP's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
Unfortunately the files are all in A-Z order in the FNIS log from MO1 and Z-A order in the FNIS log from MO2 so I had to manually sort the log entries to get a good diff. I think this part of the FNIS log file is the most important when using the RedirectFiles option: This is the same section of the log from MO1 and it looks similar in MO2 when I remove the RedirectFiles option: All I can really say is that apparently FNIS isn't finding something or isn't reading it properly. I still want to go back to this at some point (but I'm too exhausted to do it right now) to try to figure out whether FNIS is deleting its own files. I just remember some really curious delete file calls in the usvfs.log that makes me wonder.- 20 replies

DROPPED Fore's New Idles in Skyrim -- Special Edition (by fore)
Greg replied to GrantSP's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
Yeah, thanks very much to localmandiesaftercraftingleather. I tried this 9 ways from Sunday to get this working without any success at all. FNIS recognized and generated the base animations would not recognize animations in PCEA2. Finally localmandiesaftercraftingleather pops in and says don't use RedirectFiles - it doesn't work with PCEA2. So I commented out RedirectFiles= in the FNIS.ini file and it worked like a charm. EDIT: In case it matters I'm using Mod Organizer 2.1.3 Dev Build 8- 20 replies

The only other thing I can think of is to run BethINI and/or to temporarily disable any aliasing to see if this clears the issue. If you are using en ENB preset, you might temporarily disable graphics processing in enblocal.ini to see this is anything to do with it. I'm basically wondering if it may be some effect applied go gouls like the glow effect on the glowing ones.

I see much the same behavior in Fallout 3 with Clear and Present Danger when a lot of super mutants attack, but I think this is due to the effects of 10+ super mutants attacking at once with automatic weapons and missiles. I usually have to restart the game to stop the stuttering after the super mutants have been dealt with. One particular area in DC was swarming with super mutants and started causing bad graphics effects and eventually crashed the game... but I digress. I have been up to the REPCONN test site and cleared all the ghouls to complete one of the side quests for Willow and I don't remember seeing anything like this in my playthrough with Fear and Loathing. The only mods I see that effect ghouls are Ghoul Hires Retexture, Feral Ghoul Retexture, Roberts Male Body, and Fallout Character Overhaul.

https://forum.step-project.com/topic/13336-mo-download-issues/ Either Nexus is having issues or you may need to install the latest Mod Organizer 2 since Nexus is now requiring secure connections to its APIs.

issue with running skyrim through mod organizer 2
Greg replied to norimyxxxo's question in Mod Organizer Support
Have you installed Mod Organizer into the Steam or Skyrim Special Edition folder? If you have, move Mod Organizer somewhere else because it may not be able to find some of the game files (something funky in the VFS if I remember correctly) if it's installed in the Steam or Skyrim folder. You might also double check the Skyrim.ini file used by Mod Organizer to see if it includes all the archive files: [Archive] sResourceArchiveList=Skyrim - Misc.bsa, Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Skyrim - Interface.bsa, Skyrim - Animations.bsa, Skyrim - Meshes0.bsa, Skyrim - Meshes1.bsa, Skyrim - Sounds.bsa sResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Voices_en0.bsa, Skyrim - Textures0.bsa, Skyrim - Textures1.bsa, Skyrim - Textures2.bsa, Skyrim - Textures3.bsa, Skyrim - Textures4.bsa, Skyrim - Textures5.bsa, Skyrim - Textures6.bsa, Skyrim - Textures7.bsa, Skyrim - Textures8.bsa, Skyrim - Patch.bsa bLoadArchiveInMemory=1 sArchiveToLoadInMemoryList=Skyrim - Animations.bsa -
The devs working on MO2 are doing an outstanding job although they are overworked, underpaid, and very much appreciated.

I wonder if we need a sticky post for this issue because it's soon to affect all users of Mod Organizer 1.3.11 (and older) as well as users of Mod Organizer 2 that haven't updated to the patched version. Ahem... in the infamous words of Roseanne Rosannedana... nevermind. You beat me to it.

Is "D:\Program Files\Skyrim" your game folder where Skyrim is installed? I'm asking because I know this can cause a stack overflow exception (0xC00000FD) in Mod Organizer 2, but I've never seen a stack overflow with Mod Organizer 1.3.11.

Greg replied to GrantSP's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
Well, for what it's worth, I seem to be getting the same behavior you are reporting. I'll have to play with this in MO 1.3.11 tomorrow after work and compare the log files because something is definitely strange here. Number of animations for FNIS_PCEA2: 0 Total non-AA: 0 Total AA: 0- 20 replies

Greg replied to GrantSP's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
This may be a silly question but you do have the PCEA2 mod active in the left pane? I fully expect the answer is yes so just covering the easy stuff first. The way I understand the devs doing this is as follows: Install FNIS as a mod in Mod Organizer and ensure it is active Install PCEA2 as a mod in Mod Organizer and ensure it is active Create an empty "FNIS Output" mod in Mod Organizer Uncheck the "FNIS Output" mod so it is inactive and wont' be seen by USVFS Run "Generate FNIS for Users" and redirect the output to the "ModOrganizer/mods/FNIS Output" folder Check the "FNIS Output" mod so it is now active I have not explicitly tried using PCEA2 so I can't guarantee this will solve the problem and it may be what you're already doing.- 20 replies

CK(SE) "create archive" can not set files from MO2 virtual data?
Greg replied to waitinfuture's question in Mod Organizer Support
If I understand correctly I think the issue may be that Creation Kit is running Archive.exe to pack the loose files into an archive file and Mod Organizer 2 may not be hooking Archive.exe. Have you tried running Skyrim/Tools/Archive/Archive.exe directly from Mod Organizer 2 instead of running it through Creation Kit? -
You can safely skip Lepidoptera of Skyrim. The mods required for the STEP Core or STEP Extended patch can be found in the STEP Compilation topic. You should also go back through to the guide to ensure you have installed everything required for the patches. You shouldn't generate the bashed patch or run DynDOLOD until you get the issue with the patches sorted out.
