  1. I don't think any offence was taken by anyone! We're all fairly easy-going here. Regarding the process of making, or sharing on, a guide, you have no doubt seen that they are on a wiki that can be freely edited. Every user can login to the wiki and create and edit wikis and you can do what ever you like with them. (obviously there are some restrictions)
  2. I don't know if I should view this as a good thing or not, I can find nothing that accurately tracks the disparate mods I track for MO references. Chrome extensions, web scrapers, purpose built software, nothing, they all are either useless junk or accounts to tracking services that offer more issues than results. At least now my morning regimen is significantly shorter, it took me about an hour to work through the 60+ pages in my Nexus tracked content and most of that time was for useless posts not really related to what I was looking for. More than likely I will just whittle the list down to the absolute minimum and just do the old fashioned way of actually visiting the Nexus page and read the posts. :O_o: So cumbersome though, not really a good way to track MO issues across many mods.
  3. With Nexus' new changes to their forum servers they've dropped the one useful thing I use all the time: "My Content". With that setting all the threads that I have either posted on or tracked are listed with the current first unread post showing at the top, just as we do here. Many, many years ago I seem to remember using software to track web pages that I was interested in, sort of like RSS for news feeds. I looking to find something similar now to track the 'Posts' tab on various mod pages in the Nexus. Does anyone know of or use anything that does what I'm after? I'm going to do my own search but if there are some good suggestions. Thanks.
  4. And that is considered 'too much' when we are then asking them to make xEdit changes?! Anyway, I see what it is you are asking them to do now, there were just acouple of minor edits I was going to make and that point grabbed my attention. I'll just go ahead with my minor edits with that in mind.
  5. The file 'modlist.txt' is created by MO based on what mods are installed and it is different in various profiles in two ways. The order those mods are listed. This is what you have already seen and is the basis of your opening question The actual mods installed by MOThis second step is important as MO generates a new 'modlist.txt' with ALL installed mods listed if the current file is missing or corrupted in some way. Short answer, no MO can not show a profile with only installed mods that were installed during that profile. You can though, and I'm not 100% sure that is what you are asking, copy the 'modlist.txt' from the newest profile back to the older profile so that all the latest order is preserved. The only difference here is it will also show which mods are active or not and it will need to checked to ensure the 'loadorder.txt' matches. Your best bet, if you think the latest profile is what you want but also want a slightly different set closer to the older one, is to copy this newer profile again and replace the oldest one with this new one. Keep in mind profiles are just folders with sets of text files that MO reads to generate the mod & plugin lists, they take up very little space and you can make as many of them as you want. Delete them, rename them, copy them. No damage is done to the installed mods or the game files.
  6. I've added to the discussion in the Bug Genie, basically the entire issue can be resolved by clearing out the 'webcache' folder. For whatever reason, MO was not sending/receiving the correct Nexus login details for ALL the functions related to accessing the mod page. Not sure if it is due to a change in the Nexus webpage code, their api or MO code, but clearing it does reset all the relevant details to match the current status on Nexus.
  7. hmm... still a little confused. The current instructions are based on the FOMOD version but the idea is to eventually do the Game Tweaks edits to eliminate the need for an esp. So, that being the case, isn't easier to just grab the non-fomod main file and install only the textures?
  8. TBH, I am not 100% sure if diacritics in file or folder names will cause any issue with MO, I would imagine that if your OS sees the folders then MO too will see them and everything will function correctly.
  9. FNV, FO3 & TES4 in MO use the same techniques so you are just unlucky to have your FNV AI broken at the moment. However the issue is known and being examined and there is a very simple fix you can do to get your game up and running. This thread is a discussion of the AI problem and that post outlines some steps to rectify it.
  10. Given that we are now doing the change to the moon via xEdit, I assume the initial download for Mojave Nights is just the non-FOMOD version, with only the textures enabled? Looking a the current instructions there are no indicators as to which 'main' file to grab and the actual text about installation is: I am assuming this is from the fomod installer. I never added Mojave Nights to my profile, just never saw the need, so I don't know if that is the fomod text or just one of your thoughts.
  11. Screenshots aren't very helpful in diagnosing load order issues, just upload the 'loadorder.txt' in the same manner you did with your 'modlist.txt'.
  12. I've re-opened the issue on this matter on the Bug Genie.
  13. You actually posted the 'lockedorder' not your 'loadorder' so that will need to be looked at but just going from the modlist, you have most of those in alphabetical order, you may be getting conflicted assets if you haven't arranged them properly. My modlist order for the C&PD list of mods is this:
  14. If you want to make a guide that incorporates MO in an Oblivion environment, go for it. @hishutup's setup has given him grief, I suspect it is because his Oblivion is a Steam version whereas my is a disc version. I have no difficulty in running Oblivion through MO. Oblivion has slipped way down in my list of priorities but I'll chime in when I think I can offer something.
  15. I'm good with that choice. All I have now is the main file but that list of NPCs seems reasonable.
  16. No. Simple answer is because of permissions. Long answer is found in numerous places around STEP where this question has been asked before.
  17. To both of you, check that you have AI enabled AND there is an archive invalidation BSA listed FIRST in the Archive tab. I forgot there is a current issue with AI in the Fallout compatibility plugins of MO that requires a bit of tweaking. Follow the options in this post to ensure you have it correctly enabled.
  18. Have you changed any permissions on the LOOT executable or made it to run in compatibility mode or any such action? There should be no reason why wow_helper.exe is being called. That is a utility designed to run programs in a certain mode inside Windows, the naming schema is: Windows on Windows helper. I have never seen the need to call either LOOT or MO via this method as they will 'just work'. The actual file in the LOOT folder that the error message is referencing is a 64bit exe, hence the error. I can't see why this is being called so these next steps are just a shot in the dark. Rename the folder where LOOT is stored to remove any periods in its name, call it just LOOT, not LOOT 0.7.0b4 and remove the 'Start in' field entry.
  19. That 'error' occurs when you install Wrye Flash, and it places a copy of Bashed Patch directly into the Data folder, but then when you actually create your own bashed patch you should now have it in a mod inside MO's VFS structure. It's a quirk of the two tools being used together. The copy in your Data folder should be removed. Also, nothing directly related but, in your log post above you have your %UserData% folder listed as: C:\Users\Mlanie\AppData\Local\ Is that actually what you have or is it an error in the text copying in the forum software? I'm assuming your actual folder is: C:\Users\Melanie\AppData\Local\ If you do have an odd character in that folder you may be looking at issues with other tools that can't see it correctly.
  20. Couple of things. There shouldn't be any need to have FOMM anymore, most of what that is used for can now be done with MO. The last line of your log is this: INFO (15:06:07.0269): Windows Exception (c0000005). Origin: "E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\fallout3.exe" (688156). Last hooked call: unsigned long __stdcall GetFileAttributesW_rep(const unsigned short *) What this indicates is the failure to load is not from MO but teh game engine falling over, possibly due to a missing bsa or master or even a bad mod. I can only suggest you create a new blank profile and test that FOSE gets called correctly and the game starts with no mods, just to verify a correct installation. One last thing that grabs my eye, you have this call made in your log: E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\nvd3dum.dll That file is for nVidia's D3D driver related software and I can't see why that would be installed in your games folder. On my system it is located inside the Windows system folder structure. Are you experiencing any other issues with the game related to nVidia drivers?
  21. That's the answer I'm looking for. I have just now completed the Bison Casino so I guess I now have a way to remove the bobbleheads in my inventory, but I was really unsure whether taking the bonuses was the preferred option. Since I have my MCM settings to match yours, well pretty close anyway, I'll start adding +5 bonuses. I actually haven't looked at using a player home, I did go for a Gopher inspired addition and added the MTB mod with the van, quite like that, though it is in desperate need of a few more locations. Oh and thanks @Drain0 for the heads up on which mod. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: this FalloutNV guide, and the Fallout3 version, have reinvigorated the entire Fallout game franchise for me and I haven't touched Skyrim for ages. Impressive really since Skyrim was what brought me to STEP and now I can do without it.
  22. Check the settings in your 'Executables' list, is the LOOT setting actually running LOOT.exe or the wow_helper.exe? Ensure it is pointing to LOOT.
  23. STEP is currently in discussion about this very subject and we will endeavour to provide a guide that covers as much as possible for all the xEdit variants in the near future. (participation in this project is not restricted to STEP admin though and all are encouraged to join in if they can)
  24. I too went for a wander the other day looking for the TTW site only to find it down and I got a sickening feeling in my gut that maybe someone was forced to close it. Thankfully that was only my overly negative imagination and it is all back again. Nearly through my Vew Vegas playthrough and I think I might try an install of TTW.
  25. I think you may be correct about an issue with your UI. Probably best to make a UI specific thread so others might have a better of chance of seeing any answers if it is labelled as such. First thing I would check is the DarnUI font section in the [Fonts] section of the INI. Go over that section of the guide again.
