I remember this being discussed in Discord some time ago, and while it was obviously from before this update, the person involved and a few troubleshooters determined that, at least in this one case, you need to force the Classic Classes and Birthsigns to do its thing before saving became normal again. The thought is that the script that drives those prompts is constantly running on game start, causing the longer save times and crashes. I'm not sure how we could force it to run in a general way, since as far as I'm aware the only race that starts with a spell is the Dunmer (Sparks), but if you have a weapon or spell you can equip, do so, take care of the CC&B selections, then try saving and see if there is any difference. Actually, this has been true of a lot of mods in the past in this guide. Sofia, for example, when she was still in, was the same way. It's not an oversight. She assumes that all mods are used, and provides the CR patches for that situation. If you choose not to use one of those mods, then the CR needs to be cleaned of that master file using the procedures found in the Troubleshooting portion of the guide - remember that this guide is intended for more advanced modders, and it's assumed you can follow those directions. If you need more help figuring out those instructions, the guys on discord will be more than happy to help out.

Normal DOF - basically, the ENB is using the object in the center of the screen (IE, You) as the focus point, just like it does in any other situation. I was talking with Godescalus on Discord about it, and short of creating a hotkey to turn of the DOF effect when you ride, it's an all or nothing situation... ENB does not detect game states like horse riding. As to your second question, If you redo Bashed, I'd redo Smash as well. You don't HAVE to start a new game (and I frequently don't), but if there are major changes as a result and the game starts getting wonky(er), then be prepared to do so. Once upon a time she did. She no longer does. Her ESP list is constantly changing, and even if it was just a pure guide load (which it almost never is), LOOT can order the exact same mods several different ways. Folks here were getting wrapped around the axle about how they couldn't get their lists to match hers, so after some discussion she got rid of it, since it was misleading. If you follow the guide meticulously, you'll be fine. If you have specific questions, post them here or, better, on the discord channel. You'll get quicker answers there, for the most part.

That may be in combination with another mod - you aren't running the most recent RaceMenu are you? I has a known bug that sounds similar to this, and has a fix for it posted in it's comments section. Otherwise... all I can say is that won't be BETHIni causing that issue.

He knows that we're using it, Bern - he's asking how much of it makes it through after all the other mods are installed. My original statement stands - you kind of have to build it and look for yourself to really see it. Sure, You could generate a list of textures... and for some people that might even tell them what they want to know. Seeing it in game, however, is going to be more helpful... especially since you can hide and unhide textures in MO2 at that point to adjust it to how you want it, within some limits.

Best way to find out is to do the guide... are you looking for a list of textures, or a general feel here? For myself, what we have blends together pretty well, so I couldn't tell you which textures came from which mod off the top of my head. Hey, I'm just saying that's what we see. The fact that what we see is, indeed, what we get is entirely because Lexy doesn't hide things from us. Well... not about the guide anyhow. I'm pretty sure she isn't telling us what's going on in that Pit that Bumbles keeps throwing people into over on Discord...

Lexy: Hmmm... I like this mod. *checks for conflicts in xEDIT* *fixes conflicts* *updates guide on Monday* Community: CRAP! ANOTHER UPDATE! *scrambles to update their Load Order* -OR- Lexy: No, sir. I don't like it. *throws mod into trash* Yes, there's likely more to it, but that's pretty close based on discussions in the Discord. ;)

That file is a texture replacer only... it won’t cause a problem by being missing. -
Ah well. SLI was worth a shot. My next thoughts go to your mod list. There’s a lot of stuff in there (many of which I will never use), but the order of those mods does grab my attention. Has this list been LOOT sorted at all? I ask because I note that, for example, a patch file for Scoped Bows is being loaded before Scoped Bows itself. If it hasn’t been through LOOT, it needs to (general principle)... may not help with the stuttering, but worth a look. As part of that, I’m guessing you haven’t done any CR on this at all, and conflicts between mods might cause this as well. No easy way to handle CRing, I’m afraid. It’s unique from LO to LO. Given the amount and type of certain of your mods, you may get better help from loverslab... they’d have more experience working with those than I would.

Really weird issues that just don't make sense.
Shadriss replied to Darklustre's question in Post-Processing Support
First, as I said, the only INIs being used when running the game through MO is the one in the MO profile being used. Changing them anywhere else will have zero effect on the game. Using BETHINI allows you to make those tweaks (as it can link into those profiles) safely and correctly. So yes - I'd say you want to find BETHINI and use it. As to why we both commented about the ENB side - there was enough in the original post that talked about it that we both made the assumption (I know I did, and pretty sure Greg did) that you had the ENB as a culprit in this. Obviously, we misread that. Regardless, the BETHINI suggestion stands. Chances are, when you were making the change, that you either spelled a setting incorrectly or entered in the values incorrectly. Either of these could result in CTDs once the relevant item in the INI is actually used. It's very easy to do. Both of these (and a whole host of other potential INI problems) are easilly avoided by using the tool mentioned. -
OK, Try something for me... turn off the SLI while playing Skyrim. I've seen a number of reports on Discord where, once the SLI was turned off, FPS issues were resolved. Also, curious - you say that the FPS drop is about 10 FPS in all locations - what is the actual FPS you are getting on average? A drop of ten from 60 is a lot different than a drop of 10 from 30, as an example.

Also, it should be pointed out (and Greg did imply this, but didn't say it explicitly) that the two INIs that are in the other locations are not looked at at all when you run the game through ModOrganizer... it only looks at the ones in your MO profiles folder for the profile you are using. I echo Greg about trying to get stable setups with BETHIni first, and add on that you should ensure all directions for installing your ENB were followed... I don't think I've seen a single ENB not have you set bFloatRenderTarget to 1, and as Greg also said, I can't think why an ENB would cause CTD unless it was not installed properly. -
At this point, the best way to do this is to go onto the Discord channel then... between myself and a bunch of others, you'll get most (if not all) the help you need. The channel can be found at the top of the main guide - hope to see you there. As Lexy and others are trying to point out (and none of them were clear about this, so I'll throw in my attempt) - Both of the files you list are part of two different merges. Having finished those merges, all files that get merged need to either be set to Optional or Hidden in the MO2 file structure. The tool that you just found you HAD actually installed is the easiest way to accomplish that. Using it will hide all files that were used in the associated merges, which will bring your plugin count down significantly (which is good) and allow you to properly sort LOOT (which is also good). Nope, not a bad time at all. You simply didn't know / understand that this guide gets updates every week. Every. Single. Week. Welcome to our world. :) You can't give up the Firstborn - that already belongs to Sheson (DynDOLOD author - trust me, it's in the Readme and, occasionally, on Load Screens in the game). Also, to clear this up, both versions of the guide are identical except between Monday and Wednesday... Lexy pushes changes to the STEP forum copy first to make sure all the kinks are worked out, then pushes to Nexus on Wednesdays... which you can see by her message earlier this morning. So really, it's not "Dev" and "Stable" versions... it's just two copies of the same thing that happen to be updated on different days.

We need more information to begin looking at this - things like which version of the game (SE, LE, VR) and other such things. Are you sure it's related to play time and not a specific sequence of actions? What testing have you done to this point? More than willing to try to help, but we need more to start from than 'it does a weird thing after 40 mins'.
-
OK, so that is part of the problem. I'll try to make this as clear as I can, using my own setup as an example: STEAM - Should be installed in it's own folder, outside of any UAC protected areas. (C:/Steam, in my case). SKYRIM - Installed in the normal Steam location. TOOLS - Away from UAC controls, and NOT in the same folders as Steam. For each tool, a new folder inside that tools folder. (C:/Tools/ModOrganizer2, C:/Tools/xLODGEN, etc). They should all be on the same drive as well - I've seen a few people try to split things as you have, and I don't think it's gone well for a one of them. It'll take some time, but you need to reorganize your file structure to get it all to play correctly. I had a moment kind of like this yesterday with ENB acting up... something that is obvious in hindsight, but frustrating as anything when you did it. Chip up - you're almost there... Then the REAL game starts... updates and more mods, of course. You didn't think I meant Skyrim, did you?
-
If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that your install is in a protected folder region (IE, C:/Program Files) where UAC tends to be a bit of a pain. Where do you have the game and tools installed to? You got ahead of the guide - YOT updated yesterday and added in that new one you mention. I haven't checked the changelog for today yet, but it may be updated now. If it isn't, then, for the moment, don't install that one unless you are willing to make some guesses about merges and the like regarding it. EDIT: Having checked the changelog, the Immersive Sounds patch is now included. Go back and make sure you have what you need before going forward. @Lexy - I note you have us regenerating xLODGEN, but not DynDOLOD... shouldn't that be the other way around? The resources we updated are for DynDOLOD, not xLODGEN. Or is it because xLODGEN had an update?

I can only assume that he built his Merged file incorrectly. I use that guide as well, and frequent the Discord quite a bit. This is the first time I've heard of issues with that Merge and DynDOLOD. Mine went off without a hitch, and since there's been no reports on the Discord about problems there, I have to conclude that the merge built by Novu was done incorrectly somehow. Novu, if you aren't already, get onto Discord and bring it up there. Nathan or Lexy are usually around there somewhere and should be able to help you figure out what went wrong.
-
Well... on the upside this means we can look at putting Shields of the Holds back into the guide. Only reason it was removed was compatibility with CHorses (though we did make a patch for that later). As to the new game thing... well, that's nothing new for me. I think I end up starting new games every other day, sometimes.

MO/ Nexus isn't giving me install with MO option.
Shadriss replied to Darklustre's question in Mod Organizer Support
That's because Vortex is Nexus' own mod manager, and they assume that's what you are using. Even though a huge number of us don't... no surprise though, it's not like they are gonna advertise for someone else's mod management system on their site when they have their own in-house one.
