Detailed chests textures not showing in game
EssArrBee replied to Mondain's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I think we may need to decide which chest texture to use in STEP, I love the new meshes from SMIM, but not quite sold on the lighter chest texture. Anyways, marked as solved. -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I am aware of this, and also aware that the ENB Series INI section is really, really out of date. I've been trying to find time to read up on that section, but of course Boris keeps adding new things and now he's trying to figure out how to correctly implement SSS on people, so it will only get more out of date. It is really out of date about a week after updating with the speed of development. Kinda wish Boris would go back to GTA or The Witcher for a couple weeks. I'll probably add your findings to the troubleshoot section for lower end systems (GS8600m dude wtf?). EDIT: Okay, I just went ahead and added a the AA section and then copy pasted the FIX stuff in and will update with more info when I get a chance maybe later today. Thanks for reminding me alt3n1ty! -
It seems like the guys posting consistently over the long term over on the ENB forums seem to write a lot of their own effects. Plus they all share stuff to make their presets that much better. I really wanted the cell shaded effect that tapioks did for FNV to be ported over to his Skyrin preset. I think it would be awesome to do a cell shaded playthrough in a fantasy setting. Just imagine doing battles against fire and ice dragons.
-
RealVision is so sharp it almost hurts my eyes. It is very popular though supports ELFX and RLO which is always a plus. I've seen tapioks hanging around a bit, so I really hope Enhanced Shaders gets a much needed update. That is my all time favorite going back to Fallout. It is pretty sharp and bright, but a bit less than RealVision.
-
Fallout had bags? I think those were mods too. I know Spice of Life for FNV had awesome backpacks. The backpacks from Wet & Cold are from another mod I've used for a long time called SabreGear Backpacks. They add 50 and 100 carry weight instead of 25 and 50 or whatever W&C does.
-
Yeah, it adds a few bags and pouches, but you can customize it in the MCM menu.
-
Choose parallax on, then "Half Icecube-Half Dull". If parallax is off then you won't find the option. Skyrim supports parallax for ice, this a CPU driven parallax, not a GPU driven effect that ENB allows.
-
Line 46 should start like this: "Half Icecube-Half Dull" If it doesn't than you aren't using the correct wizard.txt
-
Open up the .7z file created by the BCF and then open the wizard.txt and look if it is the Sept 5 version from Z. If so then the last option is half icecube - half dull.
-
Half dull is with Parallax, full dull is without parallax, at least that is what I read when opening up the wizard. Not sure why you would need a fomod with a BCF?

ACCEPTED Enhanced Blood Textures (by dDefinder)
EssArrBee replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
That file is just a replacer Data->textures->blood. Very nice for those that just like the awesome blood RAN made. Also, you could just extract the 2k textures from the main file and not use anything else if you want really high resolution gore. -
I agree with you on some of the color choices Cabal used. I really love the way Jorrvaskr looks, especially with a good ENB during the sunrise/set, and that goes for all the wood work in that mod. The part that is a little off for me is the stone paths, they are a bit green for my liking. I just overwrote the ground stuff with SRO and it looks really good.

ACCEPTED Enhanced Blood Textures (by dDefinder)
EssArrBee replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Just the blood textures which are a separate 1k file from the main EBT download should be the Core recommended textures for blood. -
That's a cool trick for FOMM using a fake directory, since FOMM crashes or freezes every time I use it from MO. It's not exactly something I can add to the troubleshoot section on a wiki though because it's a very experienced user technique. I would then need a troubleshoot for the troubleshoot kinda of thing, and wouldn't help if I ever did a FNV guide, which is one of those itches that I've been meaning to scratch. Hopefully, Tannin does find a good solution for 64-bit binaries or the NMM guys let us install 32-bit on 64-bit systems without having to hack their installer. I started a thread asking the NMM guys about it and it pretty much got ignored.

DROPPED WATER - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux (by SparrowPrince)
EssArrBee replied to Asimov's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
All the shimmering on the left looks like straight lines. It's like water sparkles are forced and unnatural, plus you can't really see that type of shine from the top of a mountain (source: I live next to a mountain). SP's water may seem a bit flat in regards to shine, but I bet that is preferable than predetermined specularity, especially with all the cloud cover in Skyrim. -
Yeah, that is a good place, just make sure that it isn't being overwritten by anything else and you should be okay. If you are using PP Remastered then make sure you pick which ever parallax maps you think are best, though Cabal kinda designed his maps to work specifically for his textures, so that would be best to put his mods last.

You seem to have missed what I told Thunderclam in a post from yesterday. My opnion: Upgrade to 0.99.6 and enjoy the new features. Make a backup of relevant MO ini/cfg/profiles files/directories before doing that is good practice (as is making daily backups, its NOT much data). Vuud has also explained how to do that in detail in the MO forum. For me 0.99.6 is (even) more stable then 0.12.9.That part, yes, a thousand times, yes. 0.99.6 has been great for both Skyrim and FNV, very stable. All I need now is for it to start 64-bit binaries so I can get NMM to run those Gopher mods for FNV that use those installers for OneHUD and UnifiedHUD. Maybe there is a way to write a plugin for it, but I'm sure it's in C# or C++, either that or find a way to get NMM to install 32-bit version.
-
You had multiple causes of crashes then, and Destructible Bottles was only one of them. You could uninstall that mod then type ClearInvalidRegistrations into the console and go from there. I think it will clear out some of th extra crap that can build up in your saves. It can take a couple minutes to finish and you have to save afterward.
-
Well no, but as you get more into modding NMM will limit what you can do. You can try to install with NMM, just always click no for upgrade and yes for overwrite.
-
Yeah all those plugins are part of your save games so try not to change your mod list during a playthrough. Okay well because you use two mod managers I'm thinking that you may have installed any textures incorrectly. Try installing whatever you are using again and make sure you do it properly. Natural Eyes is the mod with eye textures. Use wrye bash to install it, makes it very easy.

Will a few "minor" script errors in my save kill my game?
EssArrBee replied to Valkeriefire's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I don't know the details, but the SKSE guys are very nice over on their Beth forums threads. -
Okay, it's good that you are using wrye smash, but it can get messy trying to install mods with two mod managers. They can mix up files and stuff which can be really hard to keep track of. The power of wrye is really unmatched, so I'd recommend staying with it eventhough it has a steep learning curve. Try the AA thing though first and then if that doesn't work, we can go from there.

Will a few "minor" script errors in my save kill my game?
EssArrBee replied to Valkeriefire's question in General Skyrim LE Support
It will run the command right away instead of waiting to clear it when the function is called. May take some time to go through everything though. It is also very helpful for clean saving anything that had a lot of scripts running if uninstalling or upgrading. I guess I should put that on the wiki, but I did enough wiki stuff yesterday, and am not in the mood. -
I just looked around Google and it seems this may be an AA issue, some graphic cards get this. So, open the skyrim launcher and uncheck FXAA or if not using it then lower the AA settings by one level (8x->4x) to see if it is a hardware issue. What do you mean by masser and secunda plugins? (i know im a total noob)The moon size tweaks that you have installed. They are called masser and secunda and each plugin starts with their name. Also, what mod manager program are you using? This is so I can tell you where to look for stuff.
-
Okay I looked over your mod list a bit. I noticed that you have a bunch of redundant plugins, to all those masser and secunda plugins, just pick one and unchecked or delete the rest. STEP recommends x.5. Also the Lanterns of Skyrim plugins, there are five redundant plugins. Step recommends the default plugin, so uncheck or delete the other four. Try to sort out your load order and then maybe it will help narrow down where the eye problem comes from.
