GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
We should make a new thread for F&LNV/TTW convergence. -
Are all your UPP BSAs packed? If not reinstall them and do not extract. Otherwise, you are fine.

This Steam sale is really hitting me hard. I can't decide if I have more games from Humble Bundles or Steam Sales that I will never play. Can't recommend Arkam Asylum enough by the way. Love that game, originally it was GOFL, but I guess since that is gone Steam finally picked it up.

I believe that he was referring to the MO update button in the top right corner, but that is a good suggestion. I should start using that more instead of clicking my tracking list 50 times a day. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

Well I think the TTW site has a guide. My goal will be to do a MO based TTW install. -
I love how the site wide post from DarkOne a week ago was about site stability. Whenever something bad happens they are quite slow to address the issue. Shouldn't they make a post and let us know that something is wrong with their stuff or that Steam and GOG sales are just much for them to handle.

I think it only works for the SKyrim version because you sign into the Skyrim nexus with that version and it sees that it is released on that site. FNV nexus doesn't get a release so it doesn't see the update. I could be wrong, but that is my best guess. Anyway, just wanted to let everyone that might fancy some TTW or just some regular ole capital wasteland exploring that Fallout 3 GOTY is only $5 bucks. My plans are to eventually do a TTW version of F&L, but I say a lot of things that never happen. Stupid dimension of time, why are you so fast? -
Yeah, I'm already in Extended Pack mode. Hello from the future! Enjoy as much ice as you can. :hurr:

Actually, choose none. We used to have the Skyforge in, but Better Shaped Weapons is going to cover that in the next update. -
DROPPED Main Font Replacement (by Valistar)
EssArrBee replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It's a combo of SkyUI and the font. It's the only thing that is tiny AFAIK. -
No, you said it's easier to install extended then core. Why would anyone do that? Just install core or both. Never install extended without core.

Dawnguard and Dragonborn default placement in MO
EssArrBee replied to peppergomez's question in Mod Organizer Support
If those are your Dawnguard and Dragonborn optimized textures, add ' - OPT' to the end of their names. That may help. I don't think having stuff with same name is a good thing. -

I'll just get it from the MO github sourceforge. -

Just move your thread from the MA forum to a different forum when it's ready for more sets of eyes. -
That is exactly what I meant, but I was trying to help people that don't need the rundown of how MO handles stuff. If general users have all these issues it's better to just tell them how to do things without all this extraction and optimization stuff. Also, SSDs do not move data faster, they actually move data much, much slower because of silicon. The difference is that it moves orders of magnitude more data at once than a HHD. Moving data from the magnetic disk to the SATA or whatever connection is measured relative to 'c', while SSDs would be better measured in meters per second. That is what I meant about electrons. I've actually heard Silicon slows down the signal speed to .03c and even your TV's fiber optic cable is running at like 2/3c. SSDs are made with what again? I was also looking ahead to 200+ plugin mod setups with bunches of 2k textures and lots of scripts running, probably higher level characters. The SSD won't save you, only a much better CPU will do that.

What? If you're doing both then install the whole list of mods from top to bottom. Ignore what is core or extended and just install them all.

ACCEPTED White Phial Replacer (by Saerileth)
EssArrBee replied to phryxolydian's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
That's even more evil than biting. I like it. -
SSDs close the gap, but you are still going with an unoptimized method of retrieval with with regards to your CPU. You might not notice an in game difference, but you have a much higher potential to have issues because of the wasted clock cycles your CPU has to wait for retrieval of larger files. Basically, SSDs can't move data faster than than HDDs. Electrons still move at the same speed, it's the amount of electrons that are moving that is greater with SSDs. That's the big advancement, and it's why interface connections are getting so much better since SSDs came around. Have you noticed how fast SATA and PCI standards have been turning over lately? It's really exciting to see it happen. Anyways, yes I knew that MO could make some BSAs load based on install order, but install order did not rule all because MO only managed MO install order. Now it it does rule over all with it's new update. You can extract some BSAs if you need to hide a file here or there, but overall how many is that really? Maybe one or two. Unless that problem exists, leave them alone.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I used to have that mod in so you could select a POP at start and went with the Courier's Stash Integration mod instead. If moves the unique pack weapons to the leveled lists so they aren't automatic when used. -
You shouldn't be extracting mods default. It is bad for performance either way. Loose files take to long to retrieve from disk. Most the mods that are packed as BSAs should be left that way. That is why we had the discussions about it the last month or so. MO allows the BSAs to overwrite loose files so install order rules over all now. Also, don't optimize Cabal's and Vurt's textures, optimizers do some weird stuff to their textures.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I went ahead and added my combined ADAM mod to the guide. I don't see any issues with it, so if there is I'll just fix it. You should be using the Complete version, no to the NCR Trooper part, and yes to the PN patch. -

So last night I read that there was a bug in MO 1.2.5. Anything in the 0 priority of the left pane will overwrite everything else. The fix is super simple, just put something in the first spot that is either a dummy mod or just a plugin. If you have your Bashed Patch set up as a mod, then move your bashed patch to the top and since it is just a plugin it will not overwrite any textures or anything else.
