  1. I will. As I still have to install STEPcore it may take a few days until Requiem. But you can count on me
  2. I would like to know if the new paths I chose should lead to the mods-folder created by Mod Organizer, as it's managing my mods? Or should I create a Wrye Bash folder somwhere where it managers mods of its own? so if MO stores the installed mods in: X:/Mod Organizer/mods should I tell Wrye Bash to ------------bash.ini-------------------------- [General];--sOblivionMods is an alternate root directory for Bash Installers and other Bash data.; Putting it under the game's install directory can cause performance problems ; during gameplay, so by default it is placed at the same level as the game folder.; Here are the Oblivion and Skyrim defaults, and two other examples.;sOblivionMods=..Oblivion ModssOblivionMods=X:/Mod Organizer/mods;sOblivionMods=C:GamesOblivion Mods;sOblivionMods=C:SteamSteamAppscommonSkyrim Mods;--sBashModData is the directory containing data about your mods, ini edits, etc.; If using MOM, mTES4 Manager, or other utility to manage multiple installs, ; you will want to change this to keep the Bash data with your saved games.; You'll need to use an absolute path to your saved games folder, so here; are the defaults and a few examples.;sBashModData=..Oblivion ModsBash Mod DatasBashModData=X:/Mod Organizer/modsBash Mod Data;sBashModData=C:Documents and SettingsWryeMy DocumentsMy GamesOblivionBash Mod Data;sBashModData=C:UsersWryeAppDataLocalSkyrimBash Mod Data;--sInstallersData is the directory containing data about which installers; are installed by Wrye Bash. If you changed sBashModData above, you'll ; probably want to change this one too. Examples:;sInstallersData=..Oblivion ModsBash InstallersBashsInstallersData=X:/Mod Organizer/modsBash InstallersBash;sInstallersData=C:Documents and SettingsWryeMy DocumentsMy GamesOblivionBash InstallersBash;sInstallersData=C:UsersWryeAppDataLocalSkyrimBash InstallersBash;sInstallersData=C:UsersWryeAppDataLocalSkyrimBash Installers Data--------------------------------------- Don't know if Wrye Bash will ever have much to do beside creating bashed patches, I'm almost sure I'm wrong but I dare to ask...
  3. Is the Requiem pack compatible with the new STEP 2.2.9 release or do you need some time to get it up to date, Smile44?
  4. Why don't You wait a day or two until the new release? There is so much changing in the latest guide, for myself I'm too scared to mess the whole setup and I think it's not recommended to update to 2.2.9 now. It's like starting You car while the mechanic is still fixing the engine. I'm impatient too, but the guys are almost ready...
  5. cConfigurator? - Do You mean the wrench-icon in the toolbar. It shows the settings for general/nexus/plugins/workarounds The menus are in german language. UPDATE: changed the language to english and restarted. No warnings. Should have recognize the _de ending. Thanks, Double You.
  6. This is the error warning whenever I start the new version of Mod Organiser 1.2.9. It's in a window under the left pannel. I have made a screenshot. I have not installed any mods yet as I'm waiting for the new STEP release. I can start Skyrim without any problems but a warning message makes me nervous. I have searched for this pyCfg_de file but have found nothing on the web.
  7. oh, must have missed that, thanks.
  8. I miss the 3.A.2 fron STEP 2.2.8 section in the new 2.2.9 guide. The post installation part with the bashed patch creation. Guess it's still WIP?
  9. It never worked for me, too. I got used to download the archives manually from Nexus. If You want to keep the archive as back up You can place it in MO/downloads - the archives is visible in the right downloads panel then. You can also backup the archives anywhere you like, on an externel drive or else. You will not need them untill You want to reload, I prefer to keep the download folder clean. If You want to install a downloaded mod archive it is not necessery to have it in MO/downloads. You can install a mod from the desktop and after MO copies it to MO/mods You can delete the archive file.
  10. Nice. But still wait for an o.k. for one of the more experianced members, please. The MO loaded script folder must still be ticked in the left panel und used with every MO profile. The priority of the scripts does not matter, just tick them.
  11. The way I understand it - but I'm still a noob, MO manages the data folder from SKSE. If You install the data folder with MO it will not appear in Skyrim/data but in MO/mods/ and is injected every time You launch Skyrim via MO. I'm not completelly sure but if I start the game after the installation and hit ESC I can see a SKSE version number in the left bottom corner of the menue. For me this means everything is working. But maybe a STEP pro can confirm this. Regarding the .ini file: it should be placed in Skyrim/data/SKSE and edited manually.
  12. The SKSE.ini must be created manually. Used a text editor and change the .txt suffix to .ini If You have done it this way You will notice a new SKSE entry in MO left panel.
  13. You are not the first, I had the same problem a few days ago. Maybe the description will be redone in the new release, I dont know. This is what helped me:
  14. Have read the update. Now everything is perfect. You doing a great job here, thank you again, Double You.
  15. Great. Does it mean STEP 2.2.9 is becoming official?
  16. Thank You for this. Any hints regarding the DDSopt instructions? Did I missunderstood them or are they wrong? If I somehow screw it up, would Skyrim still load? Would it miss textures?
  17. So after cleanig with TES5edit two new mods will be in the left pannel: 1. Cleaned Bethesda ESMs (loaded from the folder where I placed the cleaned Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, Hearthfires.esm, and Dragonborn.esm)---->checked 2. Cethesda ESMs backups (created from the Overwrite folder so the Overwrite folder is emply again)----> checked If correct, what priority should this two mods have? Will it matter?
  18. DDSopt. Just compare the three screenshots B.1, B.2 and B.3 with the descriptions: B.1 with 2 and 4, B.2 with 7, B.3 with 10, What I mean is Point 7 says: choose Vanilla Normal Maps/ in the Browser Tab as the current source (upper window) and this is shown in the B.2 screenshot. Point 10 says: "choose Vanilla Uncompressed Textures/ as the current source in the upper window of the Browser Tab" and exactly this directory is shown in B.3. But Point 2 says:"as the initial source folder, select the "Vanilla Ordinary Textures/" directory" but B.1 shows another directory. Its:Working/Vanilla Textures I can't say for sure but I took the source folder described in the text. 2.B Everytime I cleaned a .esm file with TES5edit it created an Override file in Overrides/ TES5edit folder. As I'm not home now I cant't tell You their exact fileneam but to solve the problem I created a mod with all the TES5edit overrides and activated it in the left panel. I did it because I found this thread.
  19. Don't know if it belongs here but I wanted to give some feedback on the 2.2.8 & 2.2.9 guide as I have used them several times this week. I'm a total noob to STEP and maybe it is interesting for the experienced community to read how someone uses it. As I'm not a native speaker this made things even more difficult but with some patience and dedication I finally got it. Overall impression: At first STEPS looked like an overwhelming mass of information for me and I definitely had to read carefully not to miss anything. The guide is well structured, with many cross references and links to more in-depth explanation. This is confusing at first, because at the beginning it looked like a linear schedule but as I had to switch to new pages inbetween I was afraid to loose track of my progress or to miss an important step. What I liked most are the Wiki Guide Pages with the detailed informations about every utility. Tabs for QUICKSTART and illustrating screenshots made my life easier. The Chapter Heading Layout is also a great idea: giving tipps how to make things easier or giving detailed instructions. Now I would like show a few points where I stumbled upon the descriptions, or had to search the forums for better informations. Maybe my feedback could help to make the next Guide update even better than it is now. Guide DDSopt Optimize the Vanilla Textures There is a mismatch between the screenshot B1 and the corresponding description: But the directory shown in the screenshot is /Vanilla Textures B.2 and B.3. shows the directories described in point 7 and 10. Maybe the first screenshot (B1) should be changed? STEP 2 2.B After cleaning the esm files the Guide should mention that TES5Edit may create or in my case creates Overrides. It is not mentioned in the Guide how to proceed with them. 2.C The SKSE installation instruction are still difficult to understand. I had to find a solution in the forums how to install SKSE correctly and a few users also had problems with it. The answer of darqnite should be implemented into the Guide, his explanation makes it more clear how to do the job. At last I wish the detailed mod descriptions in the main Guide would all be consistent. It feels like different people wrote them. Some are detailed instructions, step by step approaches. Others describe a similar problem that was described a few mods before but in another way, sometimes shorter or more difficult to understand. I admire the work of all the people that helped to create STEP. Please don't think I'm complaining. I can't contribute much to the project but maybe the feedback will.
  20. I will leave them ticked as I have experianced no problem with them… yet.
  21. So I only untick the three .esp in the plugin panel and leave the .bsa in the archives panel ticked? Thank You for the help, Double You.
  22. So I'm trying to install my optimized files with a new install and MO 1.2.9. It looks like it works slightly differet now and I have got the same problem as before but can't solve it with your recommendations for the 1.2.1 version, Double You. Could You please help me with this. This is my MO priorities and plugins panel As You can see I renamed the new optimised files and activated them in the left panel. Now I would go to the Archives panel and deactivate the HighResTexturePacks01-03.bsa. This worked with the old version of MO. Now I can't uncheck them as they are faded out an unaccesible for me. Screenshot. I can deactivate them only if I first deactivate the HighResTexturePack.esp in the plugin panel. But when both .esp & .bsa are deactivated I get a missing .esp warning in my saves. How can I fix this? UPDATE: ok, if I deactivate the three .esp and then the .bsa files and load the save that displayed the missing .esp then I get an warning upon starting the game. If I save then the new save does not have any missing .eps warrnings anymore. So it's the way it has to be, right?
  23. I'm gathering files for an Extended setup and don't know if I have got it right: In the notes section for 2.2.9 I read: But when I go to the data on Nexus there is a new patch: Can I use this mod with the optional file? Is it what you are actually talking about and it will be addressed in STEP 2.2.9? Sorry, I sometimes get confused by the mass of information here.
  24. Great, this sounds promissing. Now I only need to know when 1.2.7 will be released?
  25. Thank You for the fast reply. This sounds great and I'll stay tuned and wait for the update.
