  1. A short, not very in-depth explanation by Arthmoor on why the SKSE fix is preferred to the mesh fix (first page of this thread): A more detailed critique of the mesh fix by Maeldun0, in the comments section of this mod: A later comment in the same comments section claims that this mesh fix (or the mod they're commenting on) solves that problem. I've been using the SKSE fix, so I don't have any comment on the veracity of all this. I'm just passing on relevant information. I should note that the mesh fixes only work for the player, while the SKSE fix works for both the player and for NPCs. Unfortunately, I don't think the SKSE fix is a solution for the problematic underwater eyes.
  2. I think this mod belongs in STEP. I haven't experienced any issues with this mod. It's also on the list of bug fix mods that Arthmoor/USKP recommends.
  3. Thank you! It's completely compatible with both so far as I know. The obvious exception, of course, is UNPB (and related clothing/armor) from SRLE and the body-related meshes and textures from STEP. Pumping Iron has an ESP file but I can confirm that it's a very lightweight mod without conflicts. (It's also optional). Caliente's vanilla outfit meshes include a very minimal ESP file that fixes a mesh problem with guards, and Practical Female Armor includes a similar ESP file for fixing a mesh issue or two. All of it should be conflict free, though, but I haven't ever installed a full SRLE pack. Hopefully somebody with a full (sans UNPB) SRLE pack can fire them all up with TES5Edit and let me know if any conflicts arise.
  4. Thanks for the interest! I've posted the second version. I brought the hips more in line with the vanilla female mesh and increased muscle mass suitably. I'm on the fence about further bodyslide support: I have a pack for footwear and amulets now, which is good. Bodyslide support for more armor is available, but I'm not sure if I want to include it. Ignoring the 750mb download, it also significantly increases mesh count for a variety of armor and clothing, which sounds like bad news for people with low-end graphics cards. Caliente's vanilla outfits do this as well, but I think to a smaller degree. There's also this pack, but it has some issues with various outfits. I'll probably sort through the download and pick out the outfits that are problem-free and not included in my earlier packs. I decided against Diverse Muscle Tones, as it doesn't work as elegantly as I'd hoped. I was hoping for some SKSE based approach that supports two normal maps for females, depending on the weight slider. I'm not certain if this is possible, but if it is, please let me know! I want to avoid compatibility problems with this pack, and Diverse Muscle Tones edits NPC records. STEP's recommendation for men has a decent nude mesh that I'll probably include as a recommendation for people that dislike Schlongs of Skyrim. The Sundracon mesh is also closer to (or at least almost identical to) the vanilla male mesh, which is good for consistency. Still, despite the juvenile name and silly aspects of the larger SoS mod, the lite variant is what I'll be going with, on principle. If I'm including HDT for females, I'll be including SoS. I've never experienced any of the issues with SoS Light that people report with its larger variant. There's also Shape Atlas for Men, which I need to look into still. It seems to go beyond the scope of what I originally intended, but if it has the armor support I might switch over. My recommendations are going to differ from STEP's here, as I'm not content with the vanilla female body meshes in various ways. I do respect the recommendations they chose and are working on, though. CNHF is much better in some respects than I can achieve with Bodyslide (better muscles, for example), it also comes across as a rather masculine mesh, has no support, and has clipping and texture issues with armor/clothing meshes that it doesn't support. I think women can be strong, capable, and still feminine. Still, between the two goals, making them look strong is a more desirable goal. Yeah, it's bothered me too. At the moment breast size doesn't vary at all with my preset. You may want see a doctor about your verbose excrement problem. Thanks for the interest! I'll be going with CBBE here as I'm not content with the vanilla meshes and have no 3D modeling experience. I can fix most complaints by adjusting the Bodyslide sliders, however. I like the STEP pack being worked on, but it also doesn't (by design) address boob-slider syndrome and has no support for nudity or HDT. That being said, I hope you appreciate the new version! I took care to minimize the differences between the vanilla body and my preset with this iteration. Comparing it to a vanilla forsworn mesh it looked surprisingly similar in structure. The vanilla meshes actually already have decent muscle on them, but they have them on the minimum slider as well, so the effect is comparatively muted. Breast size is smaller on my meshes at maximum slider settings. Hip size is now comparable. There will always be a noticeable difference in body shape when equipping a non-supported armor or clothing mesh, but the difference is now less noticeable. Fortunately, most of the armor I haven't covered yet is not exactly form-fitting, so it'll be harder to notice.
  5. Immersive Potions also does a fairly good job at balancing potion abuse, and works alongside Toxicity. It has a pretty dramatic effect on potion usage. I had to resolve conflicts between it and both TTRSO and the UKSP, however. I also just posted a thread to discuss/preview the body pack.
  6. This is a broadly-compatible body pack with a few design goals: • Replace the vanilla body with near-identical nude variants using a recommended set of textures. • Supports HDT and recommends settings that are not overbearing. • Eliminates sexualized and gendered female armor. No more boobplate. This pack is intended to be maximally compatible with almost everything. As indicated in the title, this pack is NSFW and contains nudity. Note that by using vanilla armor and a CBBE body you will experience minor texture issues when using skimpy armor designed for the vanilla body. Fixed forsworn armor is included. Mods are listed in the order they should appear in Mod Organizer. If you don't want nudity, then this pack is not for you: STEP is already developing a solution that you will likely prefer. The Gender Neutral armor section might be of interest to you, however, and will work well independently. Part 1: Less Gendered Armor • Practical Female Armors Download and install Practical Female Armors - All-In-One Installer - NMM BAIN using the following options: • Select every option on the first page. • Vampire Armor • Chitin Heavy Armor • Nordic Carved Armor • No Compatibility Patches (unless you use the mods listed). Next, hide or delete JZBai_PracticalFemaleArmors.esp. It is included in my version of the mod below. • Genderless Helmets (and patch) This is a modified, more compatible version of Genderless Helmets, uploaded with permission. Please consider downloading the original and endorsing the mod author. All credit goes to witnaaay. This ensures that the Iron Helmet and the Ancient Nord Helmet are identical on both men and women. Due to clipping issues I have removed the female Forsworn Headdress for men from the mod. Female Forsworn are able to wear and spawn with both. My file is compatible with Weapons & Armour Fixes and the USKP. This includes JZBai_PracticalFemaleArmors.esp from Practical Female Armors. NSFW Part 2: Bodies Unfortunately I have had to drop one of the original design goals: (Turn the female weight breast size slider into a muscle slider). I am still very interested in this design goal, but there is currently no easy way to implement this in a maximally compatible fashion. I posted an idea here and I welcome and encourage comments and thoughts on this. I am still interested in achieving this. The instructions and attachment below are exclusively for people that want to try out my alternate body meshes. They try to make female weight slider into a muscle slider, just like the male weight slider. Unfortunately, while there are no technical conflicts with anything, there are some noticeable clipping problems with some clothing and armour, and any armour that hasn't been expressly converted will give you a different body when worn. NSFW Weight Slider adjustment (alpha quality) Forum rules, as clarified for me: you can link to NSFW images with a suitable warning, but please don't attach NSFW images to your posts, and please don't use image tags to preview them. I don't want to have this thread locked or deleted. The attachment has no NSFW content, and is not a body mesh.
  7. In a post related to the Modular Morrowloot Overhaul, I think Toxicity might be a good choice. I have a load order rather analogous to a stripped down MMO installation: I try to avoid keeping too many mods kicking around in my installation. I've only just started using Toxicity, but my first reaction is quite positive: potions need some rebalancing, which MMO doesn't presently address. I avoid most potion mods because of incompatibilities with TTRSO, but Toxicity avoids compatibility problems entirely by discouraging potion spam in a different fashion. I particularly appreciate how it subtly buffs Redguards and Bosmer by making Resist Poison more worthwhile. The two biggest things I was exploiting in my gameplay (outside of smithing/enchanting, of course) were backpeddling in combat (which I solved with this mod), and spamming potions.
  8. I suppose I could consider it. I'd want to work on my preset some more. The fundamental problem as I see it is incomplete Bodyslide support. I'm not aware of any Nexus packs for bodyslide outfit support that: provides complete outfit coverage across DLCsisn't skimpyhas no mesh issuesI could try to cobble together a pack though, if there's much interest. There are a few bodyslide outfit packs on the Nexus that claim complete vanilla bodyslide support, yet have a number of small mesh issues if you delve into the comments sections. I'm not sure of target audience, though: it'd be NSFW and not part of STEP, and would differ from SRLE recommendations. I'd definitely want to improve my bodyslide preset, as well. I'm not exactly an expert on the subject, either. I'm sure there are better "muscular female" presets than what I've cobbled together, and I'm sure there's better Bodyslide armor/clothing coverage than I know of. CNHF has been pretty much abandoned: the author's blogs are down, armor/clothing coverage is incomplete, it's even less compatible with non-adapted armor and clothing than CBBE is, and even DorkDiva seems to have abandoned the mod. So as I see it, CBBE would be the best choice going forward. (For a "Pumping Iron" body pack, not for STEP). Body physics don't bother me, impractical female armor does. I suppose you could PM me if you want to avoid further sidetracking the Modular Morrowloot Overhaul thread.
  9. Pumping iron is silly for female characters: the weight slider in the vanilla body (and, frankly, every female body replacer except for CNHF) mostly affects chest size. I use Bodyslide to fix that issue in my game, personally.
  10. At a glance it should, but avoid large textures and pay particular attention to optimizing your texture files: you only have 1GB of VRAM. Take performance measurements and walk around after finishing the "graphical" section of the STEP guide to see how things are running. If everything checks out fine you're probably good to proceed with the rest of the guide without many issues, and checking before proceeding will potentially save you time. As mentioned in the guide, the Skyrim Realistic Overhaul and the Skyrim Flora Overhaul are the most VRAM intensive mods in STEP, so you might want to avoid them. Avoid using an ENB preset as well, and stick with ENBoost. Bethesda Performance Textures (and here) look nice and are a lighter alternative to some entries in STEP. (The textures are good enough that I use them, even with 3GB of VRAM). I also use Skyrim Performance Plus. Vanilla Reduced Textures will also help. I use this SweetFX preset instead of an ENB preset, modified to suit my tastes. It's much more lightweight and will help disguise the low resolution textures. There are other sweetfx presets on the Nexus, so take a look around. Dynavision helps by adding in a nice, lightweight depth-of-field effect. SweetFX will still lower your FPS slightly, though: just nowhere near as much as an ENB preset would. If you want to take the SweetFX advice, wait until after testing your setup before adding it in.
  11. I recommend leaving the keyword entries alone: none of the WAF keywords are in vanilla Skyrim, so if they're being overwritten it's probably for a good reason. The particular conflict you're looking at is only between ESPs made by the same author, so in this case it's definitely intended. If you're not sure if you should resolve a conflict, then don't: err on the side of caution. After all, 9 times out of 10 you probably wouldn't even have noticed the conflict you're resolving in-game, so it's better to leave minor problems in if you don't understand what you're deconflicting. Most modders don't even use TES5Edit and get along well enough. The Unofficial Skyrim Patch version history is useful for finding out what exactly the UKSP is trying to fix. (It's by far the most conflicting mod in my load order). Read mod descriptions and the readme if you need to.
  12. Technically, anything not on this list and this list needs conflict resolution. Some records are so minor and irrelevant that they aren't worth deconflicting, however. The Bashed patch takes care of some records, although I don't always agree with its changes. How important you consider various conflicts not on that list (and therefore need resolution) is up to you. I resolve all of them for everything in my load order, with a few minor exceptions. For example: I eliminated ELE to make my life easier, as I was forwarding dozens of lighting changes for cell records and don't even use an ENB preset. I use Remove Interior Fog, however, and I do have to forward fog distances. One could simply ignore these conflicts as it really isn't that important: two dozen odd buildings will have fog again if I don't merge those changes, which isn't a big deal. I do it anyways. Similarly, the UKSP moves a fair number of barrels, bowls, etc around to resolve very minor bugs: I deconflict these as well, but most people aren't going to care. Other changes are more important: how valuable something is, for example. Clothing & Clutter Fixes sets ore to absurdly low prices, and I consider that conflict an important one to get rid of, as it affects my early-game economy. If something is overwriting an enemy that Revenge of the Enemies changes then that is an important conflict to resolve as well, as I'll be nerfing that enemy if I don't fix it. The new version of TES5Edit has an "Apply Filter to show Conflict Losers" filter that is a godsend for fixing conflicts up. Red conflicts with green text indicate that the mod conflict simply undoes a change: for example, the Unofficial Skyrim patch removes the Restoration magic skill from Regenerate Magicka, and Simple Magic Overhaul adds it back in. SMO's change is identical to an Skyrim.esm, so it shows as green text on a red background - these changes are usually simple to deconflict, and often are a result of a mod not properly forwarding UKSP changes. Red text on a red background indicates a more complicated conflict: these aren't as simple to deconflict, as there are several conflicting records. In this case you'll need to "pick and choose" which one you want, or just trust the way LOOT sorted things. (Or clean up your load order by deleting one of them). For my sanity, I try to keep the list of mods that conflict with many things to a relative minimum. I also trust certain authors more than others: if I'm checking conflicts in one of Arthmoor's mods, for example, I don't even look at what the conflict is if it's just conflicting with the UKSP: I can be very certain Arthmoor knows about the UKSP fix and has some reason for ignoring it/changing it. This saves a surprising amount of time, as I can just hold "down" for those records and keep a close eye on what mods are conflicting. Bold text indicates a change that you have made. Some actions (like Clean Masters) cause everything in the mod to turn bold. The standard advice is to resolve conflicts in one of your own patches instead of in the original mod: personally, I only do this for large mods that I know are updated fairly often. Otherwise I just overwrite the original mod to deconflict things: worst case scenario I can redownload the mod, and it saves me some ESP slots at the cost of some minor repeated conflict resolution if it happens to be updated again.
  13. The author's advice is to not use it, or to install it and only use the uncapping feature (default INI).
  14. If you use HDT you need to install Groovtama's XPMS and read the installation carefully: did you select BBP during installation? This will mess things up if you use HDT according to the installation menu. It's probably a skeleton issue: make sure nothing is overwriting XPMS, as well. I used to use UNP (I dislike UNPB), but since converted to CBBE because it supports vanilla armor/clothing better (doesn't necessarily need new clothing/armor meshes if you generate a vanilla-style body). Unfortunately nobody's done a better job than exeter at providing vanilla armor coverage for a body mod, but exeter's meshes have problems at times, particularly with footwear. My personal solution is to generate an almost vanilla compatible body and generate clothing/armor with Caliente's Vanilla Outfits and Practical Female Armors. The clothing/armor doesn't really have much to do with your issue though, especially because exeter's meshes don't use HDT or BBP.
  15. I use it, and like it. I use most of Gamwich's textures, actually. The description was also funny. Reminded me a little of Apollodown's excellent descriptions (apparently most other people don't find them funny, though).
  16. That's a good argument in Rustic Children's favour unless this issue can be fixed. The consensus so far is against RS children in STEP, even if nobody seems to dislike it. I wish RS children offered a "vanilla hair" option. It doesn't seem to.
  17. After some in-game testing, I find that I agree. I'll change my vote here to SCO. The children don't look quite as good as RS, but they fit in much better with Skyrim (and don't have apachii hair!). I also appreciate the changes made to make children resemble their parents. I couldn't find any dunmer children in my testing after running around for a bit, but they looked decent in Brodual's video, and the orc child I found looked great. The clothing is nicer with Rustic, admittedly. At any rate, I hope at least one of them can make it into STEP, as they're all much better than what's in Core now.
  18. Based on these screenshots I still vote for Rustic Children. RS Lars in particular looks like he belongs in an anime rather than in Skyrim. They look good, though. I prefer either of them to current STEP or SCO. I recommend watching Brodual's video for some more comparisons between SCO and RS. (Rustic wasn't released at the time) EDIT: I like Neovalen's solution, so +1 to Core = Rustic, Extended = RS.
  19. https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9 Core and Extended are on the same page. Everything you need to know is either on that page or is linked to by that page. You'll need to read it carefully.
  20. If you install STEP Extended, then by necessity it will include STEP Core. You don't have to do both: you can install only STEP Core, and ignore Extended. You might consider this easier: it will certainly require less of a time investment.
  21. I assumed RS Children wasn't being recommended for compatibility reasons. I'd be happy with either Rustic or RS. Both are much, much better than current STEP Extended (which I don't think is better than vanilla). RS looks better but Rustic is more compatible. The author just released a new version of Rustic with softer eyelashes and eyebrows to address some of the criticism, and there's not much Gamwich can do about slightly feminine looking male children considering they share a texture with the girls.
  22. I prefer the look of Gamwich's re-texture over both the current STEP recommendations and Lockpicking Interface Redone. This is a fix to me, not just a retexture: the lockpicking mini-game is essentially based on remembering where your last pick broke, which is unnecessarily hard to do without visual reference. It makes lockpicking a little more pleasant for me without breaking immersion.
  23. Discussion thread: RUSTIC CHILDREN by Gamwich Wiki Link I'm sure people have seen this one on the Nexus, but I thought I'd post it here as a STEP candidate. STEP currently recommends New children. There's no ESP file here so it's compatible with everything (with the obvious exception of other child meshes and textures). I think the children are some of the biggest eyesores in vanilla Skyrim, and I'm happy that I can finally fix them without worrying about compatibility patches. Apologies in advance as the screenshots aren't full STEP Core or STEP Extended, but the child-related textures are current STEP. While I like the changes to the child clothing, that might not fit in with STEP core. Those files could be hidden, though, or recommended only for STEP Extended. (Completely incidentally, the ugly tree in the background is what just convinced me that removing Skyrim Flora Overhaul was a mistake). Current STEP/Rustic Children/Vanilla Children EDIT: Added Vanilla children to the comparison
  24. I played with this mod for a bit and liked it, but that sounds bad. Or does this not happen very often?
