  1. With a card like that you should be able to use the 2048 textures without a problem. Even with 2GB of VRAM and all 2048 textures most users report not hitting their VRAM cap, so I think you're safe. That card and an SSD definitely puts you a step above Baseline. As far as immersion, I've never seen a huge difference between the two, and the only place it would be noticable would be on large objects like the landscape and buildings. Going with 2048 for the big stuff and 1024 for the little stuff shouldn't look off, and on most objects I doubt you could tell the difference at all.
  2. Yes. Should use it. Added. It only appears on the mod detail site (https://wiki.step-project.com/Skyrim_Flora_Overhaul) but not in the guide notes. Grr, I keep forgetting to refresh the guide. Should be updated now.
  3. ಠ_ಠI know :P ... but too cool to pass up crunching one of the only three real numbers that we have in SystemSpecs How did you make the lashy eyes? It's some alt-code, wasn't too hard to find and copy/paste from Reddit.
  4. Unless I'm mistaken we actually decided to skip the Skyrim HD Riften textures... I'll add a note to just grab the 4 main files.
  5. Perhaps this deserves a bigger, more colorful notice, but it should be noted that the entire guide needs to be installed in order for maximum effect. The tables are laid out in alphabetical order and then conflicting mods are shuffled about, so if you see a chunk of mods out of order, those are definitely ones you'll want to install in order.
  6. Yes. Should use it. Added.
  7. I wish I could actually give some advice, but for now I'll just move your thread to the "Gaming Related" section :P
  8. Moved a few posts from the Release thread, seemed more relevant here.
  9. Fixed. Without wings is the better version imo.I agree, I'll update the note.
  10. Since the DLCs are packed in ESP/BSA format, all you need to do is disable the Dragonborn ESP and Skyrim won't use any of the files. It will be uninstalled as far as Skyrim is concerned (but still on your hard drives).Hm, alright, but when I re-activate it will still have the faulty textures, or? Is my only recourse a full reinstall? If something's broken in the archive, disabling/enabling won't fix anything. Have you verified the game contents via Steam? That should make sure nothing's broken.
  11. Yup. It's a hassle to set up initially but I'm checking the STEP thread on the Nexus often enough that it's not a huge deal.
  12. I don't think either is meant to "talk" to the other, they're pretty much independent. I'm not sure about NMM, but I installed WB in my Skyrim folder (along with all the other utilities). That way everything's in one place.
  13. Alright, note added. Also moved this discussion to the Bug Reports thread, it has nothing to do with the next release.
  14. Definitely liking this one as a replacement for Yuril's, although the bands are a little thick.
  15. So according to that post you either need to use the Compatible version or unpack the UHRP BSA?Â
  16. Stickied the thread, let's get some comparisons up in here!
  17. The download page says the "Compatible" version is v1.1.1 while the "Universal" version is v2.0, is it still necessary when using both?Note added.Moved it. How have you not noticed until now? :PNote removed.
  18. I leave all my mods as loose files (and this is what STEP recommends as well), but that's basically it. If a BSA is missing then Skyrim just uses the loose files, so as long as you installed everything in the correct order there should be no difference.
  19. As far as I know it is. To be honest I don't really know anything about what DDSopt does, all I know is that it makes the textures smaller and makes my FPS go up :P If you want actual answers you'll have to wait for one of the others to chime in, but as far as I know that's normal behavior on some files.
  20. Discussion thread: Silent Skyrim by AlturDrake Wiki Link A few people suggested this mod instead of No Sneak Attack Sound on it's thread, so I thought I'd make a separate thread for this one. I really like the idea, but IMO this one requires a Wizard; there are a ton of options and everyone has their own tastes. It's also a lot easier to install something that's configured how you want than to install everything and remove what you don't want.
  21. I'm no expert in the subject, but I think DDSopt will create normal maps for textures that don't have them, and this is what adds to the file size.
  22. BUG REPORTS ONLY PLEASE! Feel free to report any guide or potentially mod-related bug. Those issues will be fixed, if possible, in the next STEP update. Progress on the next STEP release can be found in this forum. Make sure to check back often for updates!
  23. Sounds like a plan.
