  1. Also, looking at your screenies, I see a noticeable difference, but the Riften windows are the least detailed windows in the game maybe with the possible exception of the Farmhouse windows.. RW has more ripples/wavy surface compared to VW. in general, Riften windows are rather subdued to begin with, not sure how you could change that without going over the top.
  2. Wait, the weights aren't edited though with this mod, it just shrinks the meshes down to a more believable size. So, your plugin would still be necessary :p
  3. IPM - More Realistic Potions and Poisons Sizes by InsanePlumber I have been using this mod for a while now, it seems to have flown under the radar but I consider it a "de-larpifcation" of potion bottles. Have you ever really noticed them in game? They are freakin' HUGE. Unrealistically so. So, this mod changes that, and it does it while still keeping compatibility with your favorite texture replacer for bottles. No ESP! I used the More Realistic Potions and Poisons Sizes - Simple Installer which is a straight-forward resizing of all potion/poison bottles.
  4. I'll have to let someone else answer that, I use a blend of REGs. As for script intensity in general, the REGs stamp of approval generally indicates that the included mods are well behaved/well scripted but we all have different systems so mileage will vary. Also, in regards to Dawn of Whiterun, I believe it is still "compatible" with REGs but optional. I'm sure CJ will correct me if I am mistaken.
  5. It had been included but it was dropped for reasons very much discussed but low performance was the foremost reason.
  6. Yup, quality is more important than quantity. 300 good solid relatively non-conflicting mods is far more stable than running one crap, bloat ridden poorly scripted mod. Add to the arsenal to defend stability: ENBoost and SSME (aka Sheson's Magic Fingers). A dash of realism helps, if you have 2 GB of System RAM and a 512 GB VRAM GPU running on a potato...some restrictions may apply. I'm at 168 esp/esms now, I've been pruning things a bit. My system: Intel i3570k, Radeon HD6850 1 GB VRAM, 8 GB System RAM, Windows 7/64 bit, SanDisk 120 GB SSD, 1 TB Standard HDD
  7. While this is awesome, it will make it very hard for some people (me?) to get their heads around without a blatant WYSIWYG type presentation.
  8. Yeah, I went through and MOhid all mine, but you also just EnableProceduralSun=false if you really like/miss your sun related textures.
  9. I notice that many ENB authors like Prod and EWI and many others are using Procedural Sun Effects in their presets. This of course means that you no longer need or should use Sunglare.dds or Sun.dds. Now, knowing that STEP doesn't dabble in ENB's for its baseline setup, this is a non-issue but worth remembering at a later time if adding an ENB. I must say,, I am very pleased with Procedural Sun overall.
  10. I have the same video card as you, Ghidorah but a newer Intel CPU, which makes a big difference along with 8 GB Ram. My system specs: Intel i3570k, Radeon HD6850 1 GB VRAM, 8 GB System RAM, Windows 7/64 bit, SanDisk 120 GB SSD, 1 TB Standard HDD As for mods to run on such a system, to be honest the RAM is the most worrisome followed by the CPU. All things being equal, the video card would be fine if it was the weakest link. I use a lot of 2k textures, but my CPU and RAM has more room and power to jugle it around with the help of ENBoost and SSME. What you need to do is just reduce overhead wherever you can. Higher than 1k+ texture mods are just going to slow your system down even with ENBoost because the slower CPU data transfer coupled with 4 GB and only 1 GB VRAM are going to get bogged down. I would keep the list of mods you use to be very selective and short. TESV Reduced Texture Pack by alex30001 Vanilla Reduced Textures by alt3rn1ty Consider overwriting any textures (if any from above) with textures by Gamwich: Bethesda Performance Textures - Animals and Creatures by Gamwich Bethesda Performance Textures - Armor - Clothes - Weapons by Gamwich MOUNTAIN OR MOLEHILL by Gamwich Also Script heavy mods are going to tax the CPU as well. Keep away from mods that rely on scripts like Forstfall, Immersive Armors, Footprints, etc.) ERSO has many mods that are scriptless but add to the game: Erkeil Team – SKYRIM MODS Erkeil, RS (relliosavini), Ramarda Obviously, you can't avoid scripts entirely, but keeping a close watch on mods will keep the performance issues down. Script lag can ruin a game just as easy as stutters, CTD's and low FPS can. Some scripted mods are very well made and do not overwhelm your game. But this has to taken in a "straw that broke the camel's back" approach. Ideally, you should be running: -ENBoost (UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true) -SSME -Reduced Vanilla Textures -A few select Non-Scripted Mods If you ever did a incremental upgrade, I'd recommend RAM first, then CPU followed by a video card upgrade. (To be honest, RAM & CPU are a close match to replace first)
  11. Yeah lighting has changed a lot, I like it, it's more in tune with the source of the lighting, usually firelight I notice is a lot better. Yeah, I can't abide vanilla lighting and shadows. Without an ENB I'm right at 60 FPS, but even with just shadow tweaks I drop to 30-40ish range. So, after that drop, I can gain some more image quality and settle into the 25-35 range.
  12. If you haven't checked out Minimal ENB by ewi65 latest release, you just might want to give it a spin. V 2.0 has made a lot of changes to lighting while still keeping the great performance. The new DoF is very lite-weight, I haven't had to disable it as I usually tend to do with that setting.
  13. Reduced Glow version released: Also Dragonborn's Thirsk Mead Hall windows.
  14. If any one has a chance, they should take a look at old glass panes. They tend to be wavy and distorted even when clear. And then, of course we have stained glass which along with blocks, coupled with lead and pewter, could make for some very intricate and long-lasting designs: In a world of earth tones and stone construction, glass brought in vibrancy and colors that beckoned people from places miles around.
  15. Easy solution: change the "brick" work :p
  16. I can't believe that mod has less than 1k endorsements. My faith in humanity is indeed lost. Sounds like a duplicate sewer cover maybe.
  17. No changes to exterior and it's even compatible with that monstrosity called Open Cities. :) The "new" floor is really just the same second floor with added floor space. Instead of having all this open space, NordKitten just extended the existing 2nd floor area over the entire common room, leaving the area above the firepit open, as one would expect. it works really well and isn't TARDIS.
  18. RRRE or DoW? I use Realistic Room Rental Lite...the full version adds stuff so it could be a problem right? DoW...what is that...oh Dawn of Whiterun...yeah that is all exterior to the Inn isn't it?
  19. I had always heard so many horror stories about that mod and another bird-type mod that I stayed far away from it. Something about rogue scripts and savegame bloat, yada yada. Was that an issue or was it the Birds of Skyrim?
  20. No, I was initially worried at first but when I entered, the only area being "closed" off are the two sides above the fire pits, before that it was all empty/wasted space. Also, you don't have NPC's walking through your rented room to get to the balcony anymore! Yay!
  21. yeah, same trademark palette. And you are right, Seasons of Skyrim is awesome and I had great performance but it wasn't updated to the latest binaries so I moved onto Serenity. It is easy to get fatigued when using one ENB style for a long time, that's why I like Serenity because I can easily change out the look with up to 9 schemes that all look different.
  22. I use Relighting Skyrim and two modules from ELE: ELE-FX Emittance and ELE Plugin - RS Light Color v0.0.37 I choose this as my lighting solution so I can avoid all the silly problems other people have with compatibility. Lighting in the Bannered mare was indeed fine. :)
  23. Bannered Mare Inn Rooms by Nord Kitten "Whiterun is meant to be the trade hub of skyrim, all main roads lead to Whiterun in one way or another, so why is it, that the bannered mare only has two rooms? One of which having a completely run down hay bed? This mod fixes that problem. This mod fixes this by adding a second floor with a balcony around the fire, upgrading the bottom floor room, and adding 3 more bedrooms on the top floor. only slightly altering the room you rent." -NordKitten ================================================================================ Have to say, I always thought the Bannered Mare was ridiculously small scale for a "big city" inn. The adding of a complete 2nd floor is a great idea without going full TARDIS. I'm playing with this mod installed, will report my observations, etc. I'm very impressed, I'd think the redesigned layout was part of the official game if I didn't know any better. It works well and doesn't seem forced, the biggest change is the stairs you use to go to your room are facing the opposite way. -NPC's do use the stairs, without issue, so they won't be stranded on one floor.. -NPC banter and pathing was smooth, normal with no glitching. -Bottom floor is virtually untouched. Here is an initial peek at the new floor as you come into the inn via the front door: Here are the stairs that lead to the 2nd floor: At the top of the stairs is a nice landing that leads to five rooms, one of which is for you to rent: Two rooms down across from your room: A view downstairs to the boisterous common room: Ah, finally, some relative peace and quiet! Your room awaits: I'm filing this mod as a keeper. Here is a final shot so you can get a better feel for the nifty solution for adding space used by NordKitten: In the picture above, you will note the area above on either side of the firepit.
  24. Here's Solitude in the evening: Still light, but you can see the illumination for some idea: And one shot at night from another user:
  25. Nicely done, that's a lot work! When I first downloaded Rustic Farmhouses by Gamwich, I did so mainly for the windows. According to MO, Visible Windows had no conflicts with RF...which led me to think that Isoku had never edit those textures:
