  1. I'm suspecting some issues with this demo of the new RYL. I started two new games with it installed and LOOT ordered and I am having strange NPC problems that I have never encountered before. NPC's start running for no apparent reason: -I entered Riverwood from Helgen with Ralof, 4-5 townspeople started running about, some in circles while still talking through part of their scripted dialog (ie. bard and his mother) -Upon entering Whiterun in my second game test, the conversation between the Warmaiden's Blacksmith and the Battleborn guy gets interrupted almost immediately mid sentence...they start running along with 6-7 other visible NPC's toward the Inn In each of these cases, no dragons were involved.
  2. I have no clue, I have been sorting before and after and I'm not entirely certain how much it matters...I know it can matter...but I'm just taking a safe approach.
  3. Now that I am using Skyre (oh my!) I have read about "doubts" concerning how LOOT handles the ReProccer stuff...yet so far I haven't noticed anything out of whack. I use SUM so I can avoid having BOSS trash my LOOT ordered mod list, there's usually a handful of out of order masters I have to fix via TES5Edit before running the patcher.
  4. Run For Your Lives by Arthmoor is available for testing and feed back: Arthmoor: Question: Is there a version for the vampire mod as well? Arthmoor:
  5. The crazy cart/horses is a time honored Skyrim issue, the exact cause of which has never been firmly nailed down because there are most likely many factors that tip the scale and cause the issue. The theory I subscribe to is that too many scripts initializing in the introduction scene cause the crazy cart syndrome. What is considered "too many" scripts? Well there in lies the rub, because the problem isn't always even repeatable on the same system with the same mods much less compared across the board with other people's experiences. Sometimes specific mod order issues can cause it...Helgen Reborn being active at game start, for instance. But, usually it's not that simple to place the blame and it varies from one mod build to another. My brief acquaintance with the crazy cart was alleviated by streamlining my mods. For me, Immersive Armors V7 tipped the scales to crazy cart-ville repetitively. Disabling it, I had no issue. So, I weighed my options and stopped using IAv7, but, since then, in other play-throughs, I have used it without the cart issue. Many variables at work.
  6. That's just not a good way to view this, or maybe it is...if you append this caveat: too much "medicine" will harm you...it's a sliding scale with variance based on the game and system that runs it. There being so such thing as a free lunch, nearly all the Papyrus related settings have trade-offs of one kind or another.
  7. Highly recommend reading this thread with the dev comments and Creation Kit infornation: Getting a LOT of script lag. Going over 10000 ms sometimes.. Papyrus INI Settings Creation Kit The less is more rule is definitely the law to live by in regards to Skyrim INI tweaks and Papyrus specifically. The Havok and Thread Tweaks floating around are popular but completely unsubstantiated, I have never seen any confirmation that they actually work (and have used them in the past). It's more likely such tweaks will cause issues for people who try them. Reverting to a clean default INI files and starting slowly, there's really only a handful of tweaks that are proven to actually work. The Papyrus Tweaks I use are based on the devs comments and my own Mod Build demands. In regards to iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes: I doubled the default amount (and that was with prior understanding that even that amount might be too large), any higher multiples is rather insane, TBH.
  8. I was afraid to do that as a matter of practice, switching horses in the center of the stream, etc. But, I did start a new game and all is going well. Resorting masters (each time) is a bit of a pain whenever I add new mods to my game.
  9. fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS is worthwhile if you have a script heavy/mod heavy build because it allows the game more time to set the stage, this also adds to loading screen time to a certain degree but anyone who has ever load into a cell with stalled or incomplete actors, this setting helps alleviate that problem. I keep mine at fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000.0. And I have changed settings: [Papyrus] fUpdateBudgetMS=1.6 fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.6 fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000.0 iMinMemoryPageSize=256 iMaxMemoryPageSize=1024 iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=115200 bEnableLogging=0 bEnableTrace=0 bLoadDebugInformation=0 bEnableProfiling=0 SmkViper, Bethesda Dev: CTD and [Papyrus] tweaksin INI Tweaking
  10. I've been using XunAmarox Colored Map Markers by XunAmarox and am really pleased with the look...the colors are bit less in your face:
  11. Yeah, I use the non-extreme version, can't say I notice the lower quality. The Xtreme one tends to be a little bloomy.
  12. It's a good mod, some rough patches: I stopped using this after a test run to level 6 on a new character. (Not using any 1rst person Message mod at present.) For some reason it interferes with Save Hot Key ArchMod - for SKSE by Archeyreece bu basically blocking the save from happening...I first noticed the message wasn't coming up on screen and then verified that, indeed, no save was being created. Additionally, and probably related, the YoT mod edits the Quick Save Message "Progress scribbled quickly..." or something like that...so that edit might be part of the problem. Other than that, I noticed a few typos and some of the cursor text messages were a bit over done.
  13. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53692/? This replacer helps FPS smoothness noticeably in areas like Whiterun Interior Entrance where the smoke from braziers can degrade performance on some systems.. (Low Res Smoke - v1) Similar to the highly recommended Skyrim Performance PLUS by VirusType2 aka Vergis, this mod works the same magic. Often times people invest so much of their system resources in larger textures for things that don't merit the overhead or burden.
  14. What is EWDR? (I haven't had my coffee yet) Expanded Winterhold Destruction Ruins... It came back to me. You still use that mod? My Winterhold needs were satisfied with Jenna's version of it. I thought EWDR jumped the shark a bit with "Haunted House" and ghosts running around and such. Wasn't there previously similar issues with Better Docks all-in-one merges? That caused a clutter catastrophe...stuff falling outta the sky in weird places? CJ fixed it, if I recall.
  15. Gopher has a LOOT Video Tutorial out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzoyWugzZAw My two cents: I have been using and testing LOOT getting ready for a new play-through with some mod changes and SkyRe and ReProccer stuff, color me very impressed. Yes, I still feel uneasy about not being able to eye-ball mod order stuff as I was able to with BOSS...but my trust in LOOT has increased dramatically because it works.
  16. That's good news, and at the end of the day, that's really all you were probably expecting from him I would think. I mean, obviously, RYL does have limitations on detecting Dragon Attacks. I've been closely watching what NPC's do in attacks now and there are a few of them that just cower without running into nearby designated shelter. But, I will say this, some of those dragons were from Belly Aches New Dragon Species and they had been aggroed from a somewhat distant spawn point and had followed me into town...custom towns like Aurora which appears to be on the crossroads of dragon central.
  17. Hmm, that's weird. When I run LOOT from within Mod Organzer, MO will close completely and the LOOT window will pop up. And LOOT "sees" all my MO installed mods, there must be something in your MO installation or settings that's different then mine. For the record, I don't have BOSS or LOOT in my Skyrim directory either.
  18. Well, you install LOOT, and just as you made a shortcut in MO to run BOSS, do the same for LOOT. Then run LOOT from within MO, it will see whatever is currently your active profile. What's not happening?
  19. Wut? Is that a question? :O_o: Yes, once you add LOOT to MO (just as you did BOSS, which I still have but no longer use)...LOOT will run, MO closes but LOOT will use your MO Profile Mod lists. LOOT actually scans ESP file header info...so it's actually determining load order based on the actual records being edited (don't ask me how). So, unlike BOSS, which was based on crown sourced data sampling input, LOOT is mostly self contained with some notable exceptions hard-wired into it via a master list function.
  20. Time to move to LOOT before a new play-through is my advice. I am using LOOT now, and while I don't like losing personal insight into mod ordering because of its black-box nature; I must say it's working wonderfully. I have 190+ mods, with Frostfall, various armor/weapon compilations, SkyRe and Reproccer and other complications...so far in my test runs before actual play-through, there's been no issues. Note: I did have to reorder some masters for 3 or so esp's via TES5Edit, but arguably that might not have been a real problem if I hadn't.
  21. Discussion thread: Northborn Scars by Northborn Wiki Link I was never really happy with the look of the scars that came with Better males, I will using this mod in my next play-through.
  22. YOT - Your Own Thoughts by Tooplex Since Think to Yourself is no longer being maintained or expanded, I have found a worthy replacement. From the mod author: This mod basically changes most (if not all) of the second person messages and texts in game and makes them 1st person. Now more in-depth, This mod is basically the little brother of TTYM (Think to Yourself Messages) as this takes a lot of influences from it and expands upon it, I was a bit disapointed to see TTYM just be abandoned like that so ive decided to make my own mod like that and expand majorly upon it, the prime importance of this mod is immersion for the Main game, its DLC's and other peoples mods. For now the mod only includes the vanilla game (Which i shall keep expanding as I see fit until its 100%) and Frostfall (again expanded from TTYM module), Any mods that people request which have second person messages and can be made to 1st person and more immersive I will be happy to add to the to-do list and make it in due time. Like TTYM, It will do more than change "you" to "I", The messages are constructed to seem more natural and immersive.
  23. Level 53 being my highest character level but I'm getting ready to begin anew very soon with LOOT, Skyrim Redone and many of my usual mods. Requiem looks very enticing but it's compatibility demands completely ruin it for me. SkyRe has more reasonable "demands". After getting to level 53, I found that SPERG + Dragon Blood was making the game entirely too easy even on Expert difficulty. I'm pretty sure SkyRe will help alleviate that...
  24. 53 just today...but I'm getting ready to restart because I have made some mod changes. and have moved to LOOT from BOSS.
  25. Running a test game with LOOT as the load order utility for my 179 mods. Everything is working fine so far, and yes...the load order makes no sense to me when I look at it, but it's not supposed to. It has gone very smoothly: 1. Ran LOOT, applied load order 2. Ran TES5Edit sorted masters for some ETAC related ESP's. 3. Ran WryeBash and made the bash patch. 4. Played game.
