Balanced Magic by mysty https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/2275 This is no better description than the author's: I personally use this and it does just what it says. It makes playing a straight or nearly straight mage slightly easier without over powering them and keeping things lore friendly. Though, after checking the mod page I realize I need to update because I'm currently using the older 1.3 which is modular. The newest (at the time of this writting) is 3.0 and it only includes one esp file.

That's a lot of work just for character appearance. Mind posting some screenshots of various characters so we can see your process's end result?

Confused on install versions - [SOLVED]
TechAngel85 replied to Neurogenesis's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If you want a full and complete STEP install, you should only use 2.2.0a. 2.2.1 isn't even ready for beta testing yet has mods are still being ironed out for the beta. You can follow the working change log for the next version here: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=1280 Keep in mind that this is a "working" change log as it's not complete. -
DROPPED Better Quest Objectives (by whickus)

I contacted the mod author and this is what he had to say: -
ACCEPTED Greatsword Sheaths and Scabbards Redux (by rpsgc, MadCat221)
TechAngel85 replied to rpsgc's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I would say just use what you had above with the three images for now with variant colors. Maybe my other suggestion could be a WIP over time if you feel like it. If not, what you had above with variant colors looks just fine IMO. -

I would say most are fashioned to match the make of the weapon, even if it's only remotely similar. Elven = elvenish, dwarven = dwarvensih, ebony = ebonyish scabbard. Most scabbards would probably be made of leather, wood, or the same material as the blade in that time as well. -

I agree that this would adds a lot of immersion. I also agree with Z tho, I don't necessarily want to take the time to set it up for all the different mod textures. lol -
Nice. It ended up snowing about 3 inches and it's currently 27F here.

Black Circles, z-fighting and texture shimmering
TechAngel85 replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Do you need to uncheck the read only box to play the game? No, as the game would still be able to "read" the files. Just not change them. -

Looks like a white Christmas for Oklahoma! We're predicted 2-4 inches (5-10cm)

The only reason having to "balance" mods (i'm guessing your talking about texture resolution) with that card is if you're running at very high screen and texture resolutions. That's a really beefy card!

After running the TPC to extract the SRO textures as suggested by Cestral above and then running the full 1.81, the only textures reported by the log that are missing from SRO are listed below: All the flat-out missing files were missing in my install folder to begin with so they're obviously going to be missing in the log. I think several are typos which Cestral would may be interested in.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah (i know I'm late on that one) shalom, Happy Birthday Jesus, and too the rest... Happy Holidays!

I can confirm that this does work. From my 4.5GB of textures the batch file extracted 1.48GB. I'll look more into it by referencing the extracted files to the batch file to make sure they are indeed the SRO files. I'm fairly confident they are.
-
Do the batch files not copy files that will be overwritten? Â If they do then I don't think you'll get only the SRO files. Â Also, make sure you're using a batch file that corresponds with the SRO version you have.As long as you put the textures in the SRO folder, it should work. The batch file is folder/texure file name specific so as long as you haven't overwritten the SRO files manually it should pull only the SRO textures which were used in the combined folder out of your current textures. It works much like load order... Like Cestral said, as long as there are only files in the SRO folder, only the SRO textures will be processed because there are no other files to overwrite them during the batch run.

Your documentation needs an 'idiot' editor - [SOLVED]
TechAngel85 replied to akmatov's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'm not sure if there will be a PDF either, there are a couple export extensions that might let us automatically generate PDFs but I haven't looked into it. I like the idea of the Wiki only. Some others might like the PDF, but for me it's seems like it would be easier as I wouldn't have to constantly switch between two programs. Everything is right there in the browser. -

https://wiki.step-project.com/Texture_Pack_Combiner There is a link in the "Notes" column on the PDF that is on the same line as the mod. That colored and underline text take you directly there. :) 2.2.0b (or 2.2.1 whichever it's going to be) Guide will be directly on the Wiki. I'm not sure if a PDF version will still be provided. Please note that TPC will not be a part of the next version. -
Genius! Pure genius!

For some reason I completely missed your post earlier. (3hrs of sleep.... ) Thanks for the advice! I haven't even started on my personal project yet. (been working on a client computer all day) Since I only have a completed TPC combined folder, there is a lot of work in my future to figure out which are the SRO textures. Since I don't have them separately, it's the only way I'm going to be able to keep the SRO textures; hand selecting them out of the combined folder. I sent Starac a message asking if he'd be kind enough to provide them to me for my personal use...I'm not expecting much from that, but I can hope! You can probably figure it out with the batch file you used to create the folder and just delete/exclude everything that overwrote SRO.That's the plan! But have you ever looked at that .bat file? There's a LOT of lines! It's going to take a good whole day. lol
