This is in my plans as I've mentioned it in a conversation somewhere with s4n. Real life is taking up more of my time now tho. I have a part-time job now and today we're celebrating my mom's big 5.0. birthday, so I won't be on til later this evening. On top of that...I'm been playing Mass Effect 2 again... I know, I'm ashamed of myself.

Same here. Not having to spend hours harvesting to make potions and actually playing the gaming is the improvement from this mod. I end up with a ton of potions anyway from looting, but alchemy is just much more useful with this mod installed because harvesting is not longer a chore. Before this mod I found myself actually going on harvesting "runs" for the ingredient. Now it's just more incorporated into the whole experience so it's not taking away from the rest of the game.

BSA question regarding extraction
TechAngel85 replied to V3teran's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Lets not make matters worse by posting such posts that poke at the situation, bitdman and everyone else. If you don't have any constructive feedback, please don't post. Thanks. If V3teren, would like to post confirming that your questions have been answered, I'll mark this thread as solved. -
Along those same lines, I would include in link to the Troubleshooting Guide in the announcement on the forum. Users should be first checking the Troubleshooting Guide before posting their questions in the Troubleshooting forum.

BSA question regarding extraction
TechAngel85 replied to V3teran's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I've actually been using WB recently, so I might not be the first person to contact about this. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Neovalen seems to be our resident expert for MO at the moment since he uses it for his guide. -
I've updated the OP to reflect recent changes. Couple questions: Is the Skyrim Installation Guide now good to go and complete? Has anyone taken a second look at the Troubleshooting Guide? We just needed a second pair of eyes on this to make sure it was good to go.

BSA question regarding extraction
TechAngel85 replied to V3teran's question in General Skyrim LE Support
First you asked in the wrong thread. Secondly, most people use WB and not MO around here so please be patient. Contact Farlo or Neovalen via PM as they are both experienced with MO. Please direct them to this thread to answer your question so we can have it public for the community as well. Moving this thread to Troubleshooting. EDIT: -
Thanks for you posting, Omeletter! If you'll PM Z or Farlo on Nexus to prove that you are you and not someone impersonating you, they'll give the you the great and powerful, Mod Author badge. :) I will still use the mod regardless of the "unbalanced" alchemy that may result because for me it make alchemy worth pursuing again. For balancing all we would need to do is ask one of the mod authors that provide leveling overhauls to make a compatibility patch with alchemy turned down a little bit. Personally, I use SkyRealism - Balanced Perk Trees for my overhaul on that. MTichenor is a really nice guy and might be will to do that for us. As far as alchemy he's done this:

Too bad he didn't do it honestly, because this was quite good. Better than Lush Trees, no offense. :P

Hello. I'm new and I really do need some guidance
TechAngel85 replied to Kontankarite's question in General Skyrim LE Support
A simple fix for this is to just use some smaller textures. Most of the textures have no visible difference from 1K to 2K to 4K unless your right up on them and staring at them. You should downgrade to a mix of 1K and 2K textures; 1K for the smaller items and stuff around the game and 2K for the landscapes. -
I really like the new lights. They are better than vanilla that RS uses most everywhere. All the shots you posted here were an improvement over vanilla too. I also agree with MontyMM, many of the white lights from larger flame sources should be fixed (hearths, fireplaces, campfires, etc). You are on the right track with what you are doing.

ACCEPTED Smaller Ice Spike and Ice Spear (by Odin_ml)

Nice. I would recommend the 50% optional file for STEP is this is ever considered. -

You already have a pretty good card. Unfortunately, ENB is a FPS killer. Ambient Occlusion (AO) is the biggest culprit, then it's DoF. I run SkyRealism ENB and only use Bloom, Detailed Shadows, and SunRays. Everything else is turned off or I wouldn't be able to play the game due to low frame rates. -
When looking for a lighting mod I look for several things: I look at the brightness. It has to be realistic. Many of the mods are too bright in certain areas. Fires should be "warm" lighting, not white that you'd get from a light bulb. This is true for fire pits and candles. The lighting emitted from candles should also be realistic. One candle watt is quite dim. In Relighting Skyrim the fires are too white, putting off a bit too much light, and are not warm enough. In RLO, the fires are too warm and too orange but the lighting they emit is very accurate. I look at dynamics. If the lighting mod doesn't include dynamic lighting then forget it. I what to see the lighting change indoor with time-of-day and weather. I what the rays to shine through the windows as they should. I want to see some shadow movement with flames. Dynamics good pretty good in both Relighting and RLO. I look at ambient lighting. Clear sky at night with a full moon should be apparent while indoors as the light from the windows should illuminate some of its surroundings. Same for during the day. The indoor ambient lighting should match the time-of-date and weather from the windows. Ambient lighting in Realistic and RLO are pretty good; however, I find RLO's to be more realistic and accurate. I look at outdoor lighting at night and in dungeons. It should make the above points and be realistic. Dungeons should be rather dark. I look for spotlights. There should be no "spot" lights anywhere in-game as these are unnatural and could only be produced by artificial means that do not exist in nature. Thus should not be in Skyrim lighting. A lot of lighting mods like to put one of these spotlights in Dragonsreach (EN&FX does this).

For the official STEP recommendation, we have to take the Mandate into consideration and any lighting mod that adds or removes light sources should be very very carefully examined. I know many of them remove candles and candle horns to achieve their lighting. I've noticed very little changes like this in RLO; thus, I'm in the opinion that RLO stays much closer to vanilla in this regard and should be the number candidate for this reason (if the Mandate is to be followed).

PSU is the one thing you NEVER skimp out on for a cheaper, lesser known brand. Because that translates into cheaper, less quality parts. Antec, CoolMaster, Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake....all good brands.

STEP v2.2.1 Official Bug Reports Thread
TechAngel85 replied to Farlo's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
I don't know which of the two Bird mods is doing it but there is collision on the birds that walk around on the ground which breaks gameplay for me. You can be running along and suddenly you're stuck and prevented from running forward. You look down thinking it's a rock or something...nope, you've ran into a tiny little bird walking about which is preventing you from walking until you walk around it when you should be able to step over the tiny thing. -
ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Book of Silence (by CaBaL)
TechAngel85 replied to EisDrache's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Anything CaBal uploads will be a part of STEP, because he always eventually incorporates them into his Book.
