  1. First things first... Are you using any non-STEP mods? Did you run DDSopt and/or BSAopt?
  2. If you're not running pure STEP, the first thing you need to do is uninstall your non-STEP mods. Then test to see if the issue is still happening. That will determine if it's STEP mod related or not.
  3. Okay, I just tested it. It is working for me, but only around 1 out of 4 times. You'd think it would be 100% of the time as each "magical" kill should end in the same result.
  4. I don't recall the effects of this mod ever working on my system either and I'm running pure STEP.
  5. It was posted on the Development thread that TES5edit can create a patch; however, from the reading, I'm under the impression it's not perfect. I would like to see a comparison of this mod vs CoT's sounds.
  6. First thing first... restore the original Dawnguard.esm and .bsa files. Then report back if you still have issues.. You should not have touched the .esm file to begin with. Just the .bsa file.
  7. Have you ran any optimizers? Running optimizers has caused some similar issues. Dawnguard.bsa is one of those that should be skipped in optimization (if i remember correctly) and since you're having issues with vampires, you should take a look in the "dawnguard" area of mods. Are you running any non-STEP mods? STEP mods have been tested to be conflict free. Adding other mods into that mixed always calls for testing on the users end. Have you defragged your system? Believe if or not, this has fixed unexplained issues for many users. Just the other day Adobe Premiere kept randomly crashing on me. I defragged my drive (which was shamefully badly fragmented :>
  8. The gods, why do they punish you? :|
  9. Can anyone grab a 30 sec to 1 min clip of before and after and post to youtube? FRAPS is good for quick captures. If the quick clip warrants further investigation then I'll try to put together a quick compare video. (Still working on my water mod compare vid in my spare time).
  10. I advocate monthly cleaning of PC systems. I clean my laptop once a month, every month! From what you say, you card was probably overheating and freezing/crashing/shutting down.
  11. That is a LOT of conflicting files that is already a part of STEP. I still say use it as a reference for mods that aren't already covered by STEP (if there is one that it includes).
  12. Not enough of a difference can be seen IMO to warrant the larger files. (animated; there may be more of a difference?)
  13. No definitive answer here either. I will say that I've run both without any obvious issues with playing around with CoT 3.1.
  14. The overhauls aren't really "texture packs" and I would put Book of Silence in the overhaul category as well. This mod is a bunch of miscellaneous mods tossed together into one "pack" (most of which are already covered by other mods in STEP from what I can tell).
  15. This was very entertaining to watch and I'd like to see more! I would love to see a mod list used in the creation of this video too. I could pick out a few just from head knowledge.
  16. I would still stay away from texture packs to avoid another TPC issue and so we have control over the textures installed. Unless the install for the mod is set up for each mod to be optionally installed, I'd say just use it as a reference for potential mod suggestions.
  17. I take it this is just happening in Skyrim and no other games? MOD EDIT: Moved to Troubleshooting.
  18. Thought we were staying away from texture packs? We already include some of these, but this could be a source for new suggestions for the individual mods.
  19. Never heard of it until now but if it does what it says it does, and does it successfully, then it would be a pretty good app to use. Only way to test it is to record your current setting for your games (Inspector can backup the profiles) and then run this app to see how the setting match up.
  20. The default textures that are on the nexus page look very out of place. My understanding is that they are rock...? Just looks bad compared to the surroundings.
  21. Of course if I know the answer then I'm going to help, but I'm not going to go out of my way to search down the answers to non-STEP related issues. Biggest reason is just a lack of time. Focusing on STEP will be my main priority in the Troubleshooting forum.
  22. Following this, I'll be ignoring any troubleshooting not related to STEP from here on out.
