  1. With all the texture mods downgraded to 1K memory should not be a problem though, should it? I use mixture of 1K and 2K packs (full STEP set up + many more mods, over 360 mods in total - ran on 4GB RAM and 2GB VRAM rig) and I don't come across any CTDs or freezes (I experience random performance drops during intetrior->exterior transitions, but that's another story). Which mod manager do you use? When you downgraded all the graphic mods, did you do clean install, or just reinstalled the mods?
  2. Baseline column is just an indication which file to use, if there are mutliple choices. I.e. if could be a texture mod that has 3 variants - 1k, 2k and 4k texture sizes. When Baseline indicates 2k - this is the variant preferred by the STEP team, however LO and HI indicators are also used to say that the mod is available in both lower and higher resolution for users with less specced or more specced PC's (respectively).
  3. Tele toko had some valid points here. I'm with him on this one. Adding a note to one mod will mean we'll need to add them to all mods. We're already struggling resource-wise. Although creating extra page for each mod in troubleshoot section seems just as a tedious task. My suggestion would be to either update mod pages with relevant comments and add general note to the STEP guide that for any compatibility notes users should look there or update OP mod threads on forums with the relevant info. Or both. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Further to my post above, I tried RealVision today and I must say it's superior to True Vision! Really nice ENB, however the day seems too bright, going to play with it a bit and see what happens. Thanks for finding this, PCG4m3r.
  5. I suggest you wait (patience is a virute! or so they say ;) ). From mod description, as per Cabal:
  6. We need to parallel the vanilla config ... to confirm, are you saying that moving this edit recommendation to the Skyrim.ini from SkyrimPrefs.ini will correct it? See this thread. It seems that the records are present in both files... I will check mine when I'm back from work tonight. Could it be safer to add them to both skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini? ::EDIT:: In my case iShadowMapResolutionPrimary record is in both SkyrimPrefs.ini and Skyrim.ini files, however iShadowMapResolutionSecondary is only in SkyrimPrefs.ini file.
  7. I can vouch for it as well - I've been using it for a long time now and it works like a charm. It's an absolute MUST for Dual Wield Parrying mod.
  8. I am running RLO + RLO Dungeons + CoT weathers + CoT dark nights set up at the moment. After upgrading to 1.9 and all the latest versions of mentioned mods (4.0.7c RLO and 3.1 CoT) SkyRealism Cinematic somehow lost its appearance to me. I tested about 8 different ENBs last night and could not find satisfying results The one that appeared to me most was True Vision ENB. I used Cinematic Preset (without the letterbox). I used CoT nights level 6 for this. The enbseries.ini will need some tweaking though, i.e. less saturated fires and less glow (currently fires reflection on stone make it look like metal), possibly some more tweaks. The daytime looks fantastic though.
  9. Looks that there's been some testing going on, plus Neo confirms compatibility - can this be moved to [TESTING]?
  10. This looks very promising - not for core STEP due to the mandate, but maybe for one of the STEP packs, when it's finished of course, as for now it's only a WIP. I'm keeping my eye on it though. It would be good if the author included a mod compatibility section in the description though.
  11. In that case it seems that it's a no brainer.
  12. We never really denied this mod - we'd rather decided it should be part of one of the STEP packs rather than part of main STEP guide.
  13. Love the community working together :) Big ups guys!
  14. Bethesda has officially announced The Evil Within! https://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/04/19/shinji-mikamis-new-game-is-the-evil-within?abthid=517131fafa0570b54b000005 I didn't watch the trailer yet, I'm at work. What are your initial thoughts guys? ::EDIT:: I just realised this isn't developed by Bethesda Game Studios... FAIL!
  15. I am bored at work, so I will tell you this short story: I spent last 3 days upgrading my Skyrim/STEP/SkyRe install to 1.9. Last night, few minutes after midnight, I finished! I loaded up my saved game, a grim Nord that is still unaware that he is yet to become the Dragonborn. So I take a walk in Whiterun, all looks good. Then a little annoying brat runs over to me and screams "I am not afraid of you, even if you are my elder!". "Why you little...!" I think to myself and decide it's a perfect timing to see if Killable Children does it's job. I grab my two handed axe, ensure I got a good grip on it and SWING it at that innocent (but oh-so-annoying) girl! And yes! She drops dead, her skull split in half. And then BANG, I CTD! I was planning to spend the weekend testing my new bike in the nearby hilly park. But I know myself to well... It's gonna be "get that bloody game working!" type of weekend. Am I happy? I am, but I'm not at the same time. Isn't life weird?
  16. I did some comparisons but the results were not much better than Natural Eyes to be honest, I could not see any difference apart from that the eyes were a bit brighter. Not worth extra size, this mod can be ditched.
  17. I stumbled upon this mod yesterday. It's brand new and fresh. Although I have not played through Dawnguard yet, from a few comments it seems it does it's work. A quote from description: Although it's yet another ESP, it seems that it's doing it's job. As I said, I have not played DG yet, so I cannot vouch that it's all correct. I asked the author if they reported this bug to Unofficial Patch team, so that they could merge his fix into the next version of UDGP, but received no response so far. Can anyone confirm if this glitch is indeed a glitch?
  18. This sounds interesting. Will try it out!
  19. I'm with Neo on this one. Plus it fixes totally illogical aspect of the game.
  20. I use this mod, because I use Frostfall as well. I use the skeleton mod that Frostfall suggests and it works fine with Closer Arrows. I am not sure about crossbows, I never used one in this playthrough (yet). There are some clipping issues with cloaks - but it's not too bad. The clipping is inevitable, unfortunately there is no way for all of these mods playing nicely together. Saying that, I would rather have quivers clipping a little with cloaks than clipping BADLY with backpacks. If Wet & Cold allows the player to use backpacks - I also this mod should be part of STEP. W&C description states: This suggests to me that the player character is not getting backpacks as part of W&C. If this is indeed the case, Belt Fastened Quivers shouldn't be considered as an essential part of STEP - it is not fixing anything for vanilla game, it is not really enhancing it in any way - it's just a fancy change, a matter of taste. Don't get me wrong, I do like this mod, but we need to adhere to STEP mandate here.
  21. Fair enough, however "too big in size" is a relative term, depending on your VRAM ;) And although I was recently against a teeth texture mod due to VRAM waste on something that you never look at, I actually DO look at people's eyes in game (as opposed to peoples' teeth). Nevertheless, if the general feeling is that this file is too big, then there is no point in me dling compares - I'd rather spend that time continuing to get my current Skyrim installation up to date ;)
  22. 2.J. Animations & Effects -> Burn Freeze & Shock Effects -> Dawnguard users: Also install the optional Dawnguard file. In the latest version there are 2 optionals: for either Dawnguard OR Dawnguard + Dragonborn users. The notes should be amended in the guide to reflect this.
  23. 24MB unpacked, 17-19 packed. Downloaded already, but I'm in admin conference call on my other forums :D Will do compares when I'm done here :)
  24. Ah, didn't notice! I asked him that too now. See what he says.
