SKYRIMLE Realistic Boat Travel by Thicketford
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
A quick update on this one. I checked the mod in TES5EDIT and couldn't find any conflicts with my over 220 ESPs set up, which is good. I briefly tested 2 boats, the one in Riverwood where you need to buy it and the one in Whiterun where you need to repair it. Both worked perfectly fine, the items required for repair were available at the forge, and I was able to succesfully travel with both boats. Even through I've only run a brief test on this one (I trust in Thicketford's modding skils :) ), it felt like this feature was part of the vanilla game straight away. I think it's a great addition! The only constructive comment I would have so far is regarding the Whiterun's boat - it's quite unrealistic to have it where it is, the stream is way to shallow to use the boat there. It would feel more realistic (and that word is part of this mod's name! ;) ) if the boat was placed somewhere at the bridge near Honningbrew Meadery. But it's not a biggie, just a minor inconvenience I'd say. Overall, I'd encourage anyone to try this mod out - almost guarantee you'll love it! -
Ok, as you apparently know better, I'll let you sort your problems yourself...

Steam doesn't lie about the files, but you may have some extra files that could potentially screw your game and Steam is not looking for any additional files. Why do you ask for help first and then question people's advices?

I've got 99 active ones and so far so good. This includes the guide, no merged plugins and some extra mods of my choice on top. -
Octopuss, with all due respect... Seriously, you now start suspecting mods that were tested thoroughly before they were added to STEP. These mods ARE NOT faulty, they WILL NOT break your game. TreesHD? 101 Bugs? Rabbits plus? No, they are perfectly stable and well done mods. I repeat, again: do not install million of random mods from Nexus and expect for your game to be stable. And when it breaks (obviously), please don't blame the mods that STEP team has tested before, committing time and effort, as you create unnecessary negative publicity and put the team's testing and evaluation abilities in question.

SKYRIMLE Warburgs Detailed Paper World Map (by Warburg)
rootsrat replied to Besidilo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Can you elaborate please?I use a mod that prevents fast travel and I've never had any FT related issues. I've also used mod that added more FT carriages and also made FT available via boats and ships and I didn't come across any issues either. -

implemented Mod Suggestions subforum for Fallout Series forum
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's question in Forum Support
Aaah, so much constructive discussion! I'm really glad I kicked off this conversation with something that was a simple request in my eyes :) I like to see that you (we) all think about progressing this community further, the world should be about creating, not destroying! -
ACCEPTED Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade (by kryptopyr)
rootsrat replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
To reiterate my opinion: this mod is not a simple fix, like for example Trade and Barter. It changes stuff, it adds stuff, it definitely goes beyond what Bethesda intended for smithing. It's an extension of vanilla crafting system IMHO and for that reason it should be part of STEP Extended rather than core. -

Good find! I have always found this quite annoying :) -
SKYRIMLE Travel Mounts - for fast travel by Manaflow
rootsrat replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I don't see the point of using such mods. If you DO want fast travel, why adding an additional ESP only to make you get on your horse to fast travel? Waste of time, and it's not even immersive (fast travel can't really be immersive be definition). If you don't want to use FT, well, just don't use it... -
I agree. I am all for immersion and I did try this mod before, but it proved to be annoying rather than effective.

SKYRIMLE Immersive NPC in the Dark (by hacknpaint)
rootsrat replied to Ganda's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Easily fixable in TES5EDIT though. -
Would disabling a corpse of a dead NPC from a random event prevent this NPC from spawning next time that random event is triggered - or in fact cause any other problems? I refer specifically to vampire attacks in Whiterun, however my question applies to any similar scenario. Lots of bodies lying around after the vampire attack really irritates me. So if I disable the corpses via console, will this prevent the vampires from spawning again when the random attack occurs or break those random events or maybe cause any other problems?

implemented Mod Suggestions subforum for Fallout Series forum
rootsrat posted a question in Forum Support
Could I request a Mod Suggestions subforum (with the same posting rules as the main Mods forum please, so that the user needs to tick the "declaration" before posting) in Fallout Series forums please? There seems to be increased interest in Fallout modding a lot of new mods are being released recently, so it would be great to have MS forums for Fallout series, especially that SRB released his FNV modding guide. TIA! -

SOLVED: Unofficial Skyrim Patches breaking Vampire Body/Face Textures
rootsrat replied to Kuldebar's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I can confirm some of the Unofficial Patches add tint layers to vampire NPC records. My investigation proved that it is Creation Kit that adds these "wild edits" when an ESP file is saved, as there were quite a few other mods that changed the same tint layers - I can't remember which ones actually, but I did contact couple of authors and after a short collaboration this was the conclusion. -
I think I know the reason for your CTDs, Octopuss. It's: "too many mods" ;)

Rifle 1st Person Accuracy Fix needs to be placed after Weapon Animations Replacer FOMOD (installation order), otherwise it's redundant. -

I would second, and third and fourth marking it to be tested, please. It's well worth it! Unfortunately mods have no longer the power to do that, unless I'm missing something... ;) -
Is there a mod that... (Mod Detectives)
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
You can just rename the savegame file (but don't forget to also rename the corresponding SKSE file) and the new name will appear in game Load Game interface. The only mod that affects that building that I'm aware of is this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13725/? I've never used it, I just have it on my "interesting mods" list, so I'm not sure whether it actually does anything in regards to rebuilding the hall, or preventing it from being burned down... Maybe contact the author and suggest those features? :)
